Okay, from last night - Kate says, "The man I loved! The man I killed!"

Danielle supposedly killed all of her team members re (to save them from?) the horrible "disease".

It took both Sawyer and Jack to finish off the marshall to keep him from having to slowly "bleed out".

And what if Kate killed some guy she loved as a mercy killing? Is that what those deaths we have heretofore regarded as murders were? [i]

I cannot even get a response from anybody on the other board where I posted this. Does anybody over here have anything to contribute? If so, thanks ahead of time.

I don't get the mercy killing angle, unless you're trying desperatly to find some good in Kate. She's shown some good, but it's clear she has a lot to hide.

I always thought Danielle killed her others because she was nuts, which doesn't really qualify as mercy killing to me.

Jack/Sawyer were more than slightly manipulated into putting the marshall out of his misery by Kate. She had her reasons for not wanting him to pull through.

I can see her killing "the man I loved" because he was ready to kill someone else (an innocent), and she was willing to kill him to stop him. But we don't know enough now to reach any conclusions.

I think you're right. I believe we'll see lots of freakish *coincidences* or ties between these characters. We already know that 3 of them have participated in mercy killings. From Kate's sobs, I think it's a very good possibility that she did as well - or killed someone in the line of duty, which is similar - killing for a greater good.

I think there is a lot of good in kate. I don't actually think we've seen any true evidence of bad, just lots of convolusions and cover ups.

Well thanks, Tracker and desertislandgirl, for answering. *I just thought people might have wanted to kick this idea around. *I need to think about it more and see what it is that is bugging me about these deaths. *Something I can't put my finger on re the plot. *More later. *Gotta get offa here for now. *

The way Kate was phrasing things, ("killed" rather than "murdered", "man I loved" rather than
" boyfriend, lover or husband") I think it was her father and I think it was some sort of accident. Also, the plane was in an envelope marked "personal effects", which is usually how the possesions found on a body are labeled.
