I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before and I'm not entirely sure if this clip was one of the deleted scenes from the dvd set of the first series or if it did actually happen. The scene I mean is when Sayid comes up to Shannon whilst they are waiting at the airport and asks her to look after his bag while he goes..Ithink...to the toilet. After he goes Boone turns up and Shannon and he have an arguement about something and Shannon then walks upto one of the airport security guards and tells him that there is a suspicious looking arab man who has left his bag unattended. If I remember correctly the next time you see Sayid he is getting taken away for questioning.

I've gave someone a shot of my copy and am wondering if it was a deleted scene or not.

The specific scene that you are referring to is from the Season Finale I believe. Though there is a deleted scene in between that scene and the scene where you see them carrying Sayid away for questioning. It's actually a deleted flashback. Sayid sees Sawyer tying a Tie to the Raft, and he asks him were he got that from. Then he flashes back to a scene of him at a gift shop in the airport. He asks the saleswoman for help picking out a Tie, and explains he's going to meet a girl he hasn't seen in a long time. She helps him pick out a yellow tie, and just as she's ringing him up. A security officer spots him and walks up and asks if he left his bag unattended. He says, "No, I asked someone to watch it" and the officer says "You need to come with us." And Sayid says, "Of course I do" as two officers escort him away.

BTW there is also an extra flashback scene of Claire talking with the Pilot.

When Claire is speaking to the pilot is the psychic guy with her. I seem to remember seeing him helping her with her bags as they are sitting down on the plane.

But I dont recall seeing him at all since the crash.

The guy who helped Claire with her bags on the plane was Arzt. The psychic guy was not in the airport or on the plane.

Thanks. Well spotted.

Now if I could just get my copy of the first series back from whoever it was that borrowed it.

I can't believe you lent it out and cannot remember who borrowed it!

I do remember the whole Shannon/Guard/Sayid thing and I never saw the DVD's. She told Boone something about not knowing what she could be capable of, or she would never do anything horrible and she said "watch me" and went and told the guard.

It's interesting that now that Shannon is dead, Sayid will never find out that she was the one who screwed him over like that. Not nice way to treat your future boyfriend.

Has anyone questioned why Sayid and Shannon didn't recognize each other from that encounter?

I mean, if I were to ask someone to watch something for me, I'd try to remember their face so I would recognize them later on when I come back to retrieve my belongings. I don't recall if Shannon even looked at Sayid (but she must have if reported on an "Arab" man), but Sayid should have been more attentive being a soldier and all... Something should have clicked and he should have said: "That was you!" And Shannon should have said, "No, it was you!"

I always wondered the same thing, Delta. How did Sayid not recognize that that was Shannon? I mean, I know he only looked at her for a second, and he was in a hurry, but still...
