I'm not talking about Rose and Charlie either!

I'm talking about all of those who are so ready to dismiss Lost completely over this past episode regarding Kate.* As I mentioned before, the more I think about it Kate probably needed the toy plane not only for sentimental reasons but also as part of something else that could possibly help to clear her from the criminal case the marshal was referring to when he said that he believed her.* No one is going to go through all of that for sentiment, Kate more than likely NEEDED to get the plane more than WANTED to get it.* *Why not wait it out and see what is revealed in her next flashback.* A slow-cooked meal is better than a microwaved one. Chill.* 8)

;D

This was just a teaser episode and a backstory one at that.

20 bucks says more people tune in next week to see if they finally find out what happens, etc.

$100 bucks says there'll be a dip in ratings after this episode. $500 bucks says none of this episode's new questions will be answered next episode.

I liked that it was a plane. The only way you could have gotten a greater reaction out of me is if the suitcase contained someone's head :) It was a pure  moment -- if it had been something like money or more guns or yadda yadda it would have been even more annoying.

It really makes me wonder what is so special about that plane... I think this episode set up some very good questions, but that people are mad about it because there has been *so* much hype. We had a few weeks to work ourselves up, after all.

people were just irritated because it was the first episode after the break, and they wanted all their questions answered in one shot.

that's not how this show works

it's like the da vinci code on TV

I didn't mind the episode too much, but I don't really like Kate and Claire and Charlie are my fave characters soooo...you can tell what type of reaction the little screen time of Charlie and the no-explaining-what-the-evil-others-did-to-Claire thing did to me!

However, I thought the flashback was pretty informative. I don't think Kate killed that guy, or at least that wasn't the guy she loved. Maybe she loved the bankmanager! Ah, the fanfiction possibilities! hehe

And I actually liked the Shannon/Siayd (I feel like I can't spell his name...oh well) part. It was cute. But Boone was being a bit of an idiot. Hehe...but he always is...the lifeguard who can't rescue people...teehee...I will be nice now...hehehehehehhe

Oh, and I still don't think Locke's evil...even though everyone is saying he is!

And I will keep watching the show. The only thing that makes me happy! except for snowboarding :lol2:

I didn't want them all answered, but I did want some progress to be made towards an answer, and there wasn't. At all. It's like we're climbing this mountain trying to get to the other side, and you think you're at the peak and some answers are right over this next rock, but no, it's just more mountain. I thought "Cowboys" was the peak. I thought from now on we would be able to slowly start figuring a few things out. But "Case" just made this Kilimanjaro an Everest, and I'm starting to get really sick of climbing. *

At first, I never really liked Kate much. I dunno why, but maybe because it annoyed me that she had a love triangle going on. :p However, this flashback or background story makes things a lot better. I finally know what's going on with her and I loved Jack yelling at her. hehehe :D Plus, I liked how she was concerned for my hobbit Charlie. ;)

I guess I was disappointed that my questions weren't answered, but I know they do that on purpose. I love the show anyway and I'm a dedicated fan so of course I'll watch next week. Besides, I want to see Boone/Shannon's background. They really interest me.

Considering these were the highest ratings Lost has ever had (according to TV Guide's site (http://www.tvguide.com/news/entertainment/), I'd say that your first bet's up in the air. Could be the show continues to increase viewership at this point, too. I'd tend to feel that that won't happen, but it always could.

I know this episode had the highest ratings. But that's before we saw it. The verdict on this week's episode will be determined by the viewership of next week's episode.

I guess I was drastically disappointed by what was *in* the case. It seemed like such a huge deal, but... I dunno. Oh well, we'll just have to find out later.

I have enjoyed every episode of this show but I do have my favourites. *I had no idea so many people have suddenly "fallen out of love" with this show. *I think the writers have to keep the mysteries coming to keep the audience tuned in. *If they start giving us all the answers, there's no more show. * I must admit that I'm really struggling with Kate's behaviour here but I also know that there always seems to be more to the story so I'm hoping we'll learn more later. *There are still many characters to learn about and I'm sure there are more surprises coming our way. *I will continue to watch and wait for each episode with much anticipation.

Hey, you can't hit them all out of the park. This was an OK episode. And thats fine with me. Now, if they kill off Sawyer, then all bets are off ;)

I'll admit I was one of the people disappointed by the ep (not enough to stop watching, though--it's still my favorite show!).

But, after reading some reviews from the ep, I do feel somewhat differently about it now. One reviewer (the review is posted somewhere on this board, not sure where) explained that every show has to periodically have transitional episodes and this was clearly one of them. Not every episode can have a lightening-speed pace, and some episodes need to be dedicated to creating certain subteties in the characters and the plot. Makes sense.

Still not my favorite ep for various reasons (hello...Claire anyone??), but I don't think it's at all indicative of the show turning sour. And hey, the more questions that remain unanswered, the longer our lovely show can air :) :)

Plus, next week's show looks great!!

I said this in another thread, but I really liked this episode, because it took more of a psychological look at how everyone is handling the island.

I think they didn't go after Claire because they were busy saving half of the survivors over one and they didn't go after Danielle because Sayid thinks it would be better to find things out and not bother with her at the given time.
