View Full Version : Who set the snare?

I assumed Danielle set the snare that captured Sayid when I watched Solitary. Knowing what we know now about Ethan, possible others, underground structures, Charlie getting hung, and Shannon facing a similar fate...I wonder. If the others set the snare(s) much earlier to capture Rousseau, the only way she would have avoided them is by knowing exactly where they were all hidden. I am curious how others feel, because I would like to be more sympathetic towards our crazy French Lady.

I asked my Magic 8 Ball last night: "Will Danielle be back?" It said, "Yes". I asked "Will she play an important roll when she returns?" and it said, "Without a doubt."

Though as for the trap...I assumed it was her trap for food. Why else would she go out and check it? I doubt she would have been able to distinguish Sayid's voice (praying, upside down) from all the other voices in the jungle (and most probably the other voices in her head).

She also may have been trying to trap one of the others.

My thought was that the trap was there to prevent one of the "others" from sneaking up on her. And if she could catch one they might be able to tell her where Alex was and what they had done with her child.

Flora, I really hope that your Magic 8 Ball is right.

I would also guess that Danielle set the snares also. I imagine that she set them around her shelter. Probably more for protection from the others than to catch one of them. I wouldn't want them getting any where close to where I was sleeping.

Testing...

I just tried to post twice to this thread and neither time did my post show up!

Oh...sure THAT one worked. :(

Anyway- Danielle setting trap for The Others in order to interrogate the "victim" as to Alex's whereabouts = Cool.

Zlatna- Magic 8 Ball is NEVER wrong. Also, you know Mira, right? Has she said anything about being tapped for future episodes or would she be prevented from disclosing that type of information- industry secrets, and all?

Well, we hurl email at each other from time to time.

I haven't heard from her since Christmas, so I don't know any more at this point than anyone else. If she tells me anything and it's repeatable, I will share it.

And I will be seeing her at VisionCon http://www.visioncon.net/Welcome.htm in Missouri in less than 3 weeks.

Zlanta- Grill her for information. Even if you have to use Sayid torture methods on her. Ha ha.

Poor Flarny - I wish you could be there too.

I think Danielle set the snare - most likely reason would be to trap anyone sneaking up on her. She probably has them set at intervals around her shelter and checks them periodically. May have trapped food with them but doubt that is there primary reason for being there.

Danielle is a little crazy and paranoid. She's got the whole area around her rigged as a deathdrap. Now all I need is a little popcorn...

Thank goodness Hurley will be there to save them all.

I hadn't really thought that it might be that it might be the others traps, but looking bakc on it now anything seems possible.

It's interesting when a dead thread you started ages ago reappears...the "I wrote that?!" feeling...

Anyways, thanks RORLI - I wonder if you are referring to the even more elaborate traps we have seen since Solitary - especially the trees (underground explosives?) and the "rollercoaster-sound" thingie pulling Locke into the spider-hole (is Saddam in the underground tunnels?). Either Danielle is not the only one setting traps, she is a fiendish developer of Rube Goldbergian boobietraps, or someone else (the others?) set the traps.

The "security system" seems a little too much like a demented, large scale version of the mousetrap game Locke was playing in the toy store...
