Is Ana unable to have children?

She may be....but there is always the possiblity that she is psychologically unable to leave herself open to that because of what happened.

It's possible, but that's not the impression that I got. I think the main trauma was that she has lost a child and the that loss, combined with the stress of her recovery, destroyed her relationship with her boyfriend. So she lost her child, the person she wanted to have a child with, her sense of security, basically her life. It's very possible, though, that to save her they would have needed to preform a historectomy (sp). I'm not sure if that would be plausible for the show though, because I'm pretty sure that when a woman of childbearing age has her uterus removed, she needs to take hormone drugs and whatnot. Of course, her uterus could be unable to carry a pregnancy, but still there... Hmm. I guess we'll find out later.

Let's hope so. We don't want any more of her genes in the gene pool. One of her is more than enough.

If a hysterectomy was performed(which is likely if she took four bullets below the breast and above the navel) then she would need hormone supplements. The lack of them would explain the lack of reason and general bi**chyness.
I worked with a real nice lady who didn't take her hormones after her hysterectomy. She got fired after she kicked off her shoes, loosened her dress belt and threatened to kick her boss' tail.

She would not need HRT unless both of her ovaries were removed.

Wow, that was a disturbingly evil thing to say. You are truly a sick individual. Fiction or not, you're making a joke out of a loss of an unborn child. I can't believe you said that and call yourself a human being. You are truly sick.

What she said. My mom had a hysterectomy but her ovaries were left in. No hormone treatment needed.

I wonder if that was why Ana wasn't 'good' enough for the others?????

Ana Lucia is a survivor. If she is intelligent and still able to have children, so be it. She would be a fierce mother, ultra-protective and would take no nonsense.

Shannon would have been good for Sayid BUT she did not have enough of the survival traits not to go crashing through the jungle. Sigh.....She was meant for the cultured and kind to one-another world (and was royally shafted),

Ana Lucia is a survivor type. She survived the concrete jungle and is working on the Island's jungle.

She trusted the man and that is what caused her baby to be killed. Seems like that is why she is so untrusting now.

That is just wrong. Think about who may be reading this thread who may have suffered a miscarriage.

Exactly, and I didn;t see a thing wrong when she pulled out her gun at that crazy guy with the tv...if more cops were able to/did take more abrupt action with assholes like him, then there'd be more men affraid to be violent/abusive to their wives and children.
