Its amazing how quick Ana Lucia's group cut ties with her, but maybe more amazing that they didn't do so BEFORE she had the gun.
Think about it... she wanted to simply leave the wounded passengers to their fate to leave the beach; she threw Nathan into the pit and left him there, apparently without consulting with anyone else before doing so; she goes for a hike with Goodwin and comes back alone (still not sure what she told them had happened).
Then Libby makes the (justified) comment that she doesn't appear to be exhibiting good judgment (or something like that).
It will be interesting to see the dynamic between her and her former tribe if she does end up going back to the camp. She must be feeling pretty abandoned at this point.
I also think her flashback showed the same personality in the outside world. With the exception of her losing the baby, she did not really come across as sympathetic. She bullied her mother and her partner (on her first day back, no less) and committed vigilante justice. Not the type of person I'd want armed either in my town on or the island!

Here here!! I wonder what she was like before she got shot. I cannot believe how much control the tailies let her have. Her lack of judgement was atrocious and deadly. Eko should not have let her gain that much power and she should NOT have been let to have a gun. She has done so much damage and if it were up to her, sawyer and nathan would be dead. Yes, protecting children is above all, but it should not be the only guiding force. Horrible cop and terrible leader.

I think Ana Lucia has killed more people (3 - Shannon, Goodwin, the Other girl) as the Others have been confirmed to have killed (Sceve and Nathan... and that's assuming Ethan is an Other:rolleyes: ).

There may be ramifications, but maybe not big ones. Ana will become one of the big clique (Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Locke, Sayid, Hurley, Charlie). Libby will be on the bubble, with no one to connect with. Bernard has Rose. He doesn't need AL anymore. So if Ana wants to do something it would be get back at Libby. I really don't think it will come up again though.

The producers had been saying that we would be more sympathetic to Ana Louise today. I wanted to be. But I'm not. I am sorry she lost her baby - but guess what? Many women have. Yes, it is tragic and traumatic. But it seems every character in Lost has had some trauma in their recent pre-lost life. Kind of like what boone told Shannon im the pilot. But Shannon was guilty of giving herself a pedicure instead of helping. AL is a dangerous manipulative *itch. She is hotheaded and trigger happy. I am sure there is more to her story than what we've been told. but I've yet to learn anything that makes me even remotely sympathetic towards this character.

She may be feeling abandoned, but I don't think that Ana Lucia is a creature of feeling without thought. She feels alone. She knows that she deserves to be. Isn't that why she let Sayid go?
I do feel sympathetic towards her. The tailies had it harder than the people in the front section. They landed drowning in the water. They had less supllies. They were attacked on their first night. I agree that Ana Lucia has made bad choices, but I think stress was a huge factor.
I think it's too early to judge her relationship with her mother. I'm betting her relationship with her mom is more complicated than it appears right now. I think her mom is partly to blame. Ana Lucia asked for a transfer. I think her mother should have given it to her, rather than give into Ana Lucia's demands. She doesn't think clearly either. Everything adds up. I felt badly for her partner. He genuinely cared about her and was alarmed by her behavior. Circumstance, the fact that Ana Lucia's shooter was found right then, seemed to take away his agency. Another thing, I don't think Ana Lucia was necissarily wrong. I think she solved the situation efficently, thought brutally. perhaps it was idealistic of the cop to think the tv-guy would just listen to him without the threat of violence.

Oh....Well now don't say that to the Mibby fans....
