Well, I had a thought. After the Enkidu and Gilgamesh reference (which I thought was an obvious reference to Locke and Eko) I began to think about Gilgamesh. I remembered that in the work, Gilgamesh was of man, he was the end all, be all. Enkidu was sent down upon the wishes of all who had been offended by Gilgamesh. Eventually Enkidu was sent. Enkidu was of the land, he lived off the land and was one with nature. Although they had a confrontation they eventually became the closest of friends. Gilgamesh turns Enkidu into man (which means he can never go back to nature again). Then I remembered that the weapons used by Eko so far have been a rock and a wooden stick. The weapon(s) used by Locke have been man-made knives (he was also adept with handling a gun). Also, Eko doesn't seem to like guns. See the connection. I wonder if this is merely coincidence or intended.
Also, if this parallels the narrative at all, Eko will die when they both attempt to fight a large adversary. Just a thought.
