I thought Jack wanted to keep the location of the hatch secret from the rest of the survivors. I thought he said that they weren't gonna show them where it was. So then how did Sun know where the hatch was. When Micheal found her at her little garden, she took him to the hatch.
Did she just magically know where it was, or did i miss some part of an episode where they took everyone to the hatch?

i think it was one of those off camera moments.. and at this point, the hatch is not a secret - jack told everyone about it the night they blew it open - when locke was returning with the rope.. so by now everyone has probably gone down for a tour.

yea i know the hatch itself wasnt a secret... but i just thought they didnt want anyone to know where it was because they didnt want everyone eating up all the food at once, and using up all the toiletries.

The food is gone. Hurley distributed it at the end of "Everybody Hates Hurley".

Not sure about the toiletries.

woaw! he gave away ALL the food? I thought they were gonna ration it until it was all gone.
i mean... i didnt think 40-some people can eat all that food at once.

Hurley said there was only 3 months supply for 3 meals a day for 1 person.

While we're on the subject of Sun, the one thing in last night's episode that I thought was lame was that Michael told Sun that Jin was alive & ok, but when he finally returns, she's
just going about her business rinsing out her clothes on the beach. You would think that she would be bugging michael non stop 'till she knew where to find her missing husband!

Yeah that part of the show was a little perplexing.

Good point. I was gonna say she was killing time with busy-work until the big moment arrived. Know what I mean?

1) A few days have gone by since we really have seen much of the tailies - she could have been informed then.

2) Hatch is no longer a secret as Locke has set up shifts for button pushing.

3) Hurley and Rose know about it, Jack, Kate, Locke, Charlie, Claire & Sayid all know about it. Too many people already know, so it is foolish to think they would leave out Sun.

4) Food would only last so long ... 3 meals a day for 90 days for 1 man = 270 meals .... 270 divided by 40 is 6.75 meals per person (or in layman's terms 2 days of food for each survivor)

Cheers

She was in the hatch when Walt explained the situation to Jack, Locke, Kate, etc. So it wouldn' t make any sense for her to go looking for Jin unless she wanted to risk being captured by Ana-Lucia or by the Others for that matter. Remember at this point, as far as Walt and Mr. Eko know, the situation is bad, with AL detaining everyone over there at gunpoint. Since Mr. Eko was only going to bring Jack over there, she couldn't go even if she wanted to. And since Kate was taking care of Sawyer, there wasn't much else she could do, so she want back to the beach to do some chores.

My guess is that everyone has had a button-pushing shift at this point so everyone knows where it is.

As for Sun not searching for Jin - I think she believed and trusted Michael that he was fine and was patient enough to wait. I think her faith was restored once she found her wedding ring. And I'm not sure that Sun would feel comfortable walkig through the jungle alone, especially if she didn't know exactly where to look.
