I caught this while I was watching Collision.

When Eko brings in Sawyer and Jack puts him in the shower, he tells Kate to go get some materials to help. Kate just stands there, uncertain. So, Jack asks her again and she goes this time.

This scene was very similar to when Locke brought Boone in. Jack orders Kate to go get supplies from the beach, and he has to ask her twice...because she's so stunned.

I think this is intentional. My guess is that Kate has some sort of flashback. Maybe about Tom...or maybe about someone else.

I think the first time with Boone, she was stunned that something had happened, but this time I think she was more concerned about Sawyer that's why her reaction time was slower. But, I agree that there could be something more to seeing a person in pain or on their death bed that is bringing a flash back to her. Guess we'll see more next week if that's the case.

Concerned about Sawyer...I like that. lol. Just hope it's something deeper.

I noticed that connection too. She always seems stunned when someone she knows is injured. It may be to show that she has a heart and is not a cold blooded fugitive after all. She is definitely affected by gore and violent acts and doesn't have the ability to switch quickly into medical mode like Dr. Jack can. It reminds me of when she was stitching up Jack's back in the pilot: "I may throw up on you".

Definitley a foreshadow of her flashback...haha...that sounds hillarious.

Also....any thoughts on possibly AL recognizing Kate as a fugitive? Kate seems pretty high profile...international fugitive, shootout at hospital....thats the kind of stuff on CNN. LA being the gateway to Australia perhaps AL was notified of Kate. Could definitley be a trigger for Kate flashbacks and facing her past.

I saw it more as "What the hell is he doing here? What the hell happened?"

After seeing her Moms reaction to her when she went to see her in the hospital it made me think that maybe Kate killed her Dad and thats why she was on the run in the first place. I could be way off though. Val

...since AL said she USED to be a cop, perhaps she was in Australia to catch Kate and collect the 23 grand. AL would make a very biyotchin' bounty hunter...

Good theory. Maybe she heard about it, and was like "Hmm...23,000? I need some time away, this sounds like a good job for me!"

When AL said she USED to be a cop...maybe that meant she was a cop, even on the plane, but she's not anymore because she crashed. Or she could of quit the force before. Who knows.

Even if Ana Lucia recognizes kate, there is not a whole lot that she could do.

Jack would probably tell her "We all know about kate, so drop it. We all need to work together to get through this..." that sort of thing.

I do recommend locking up the guns and ammo though.

Kate could be having flashbacks (unshown) to when whats-his-name got shot in the car with her at the wheel. Im sure we can see the similarities.

That's what I was thinking her crime was, that she killed her father, or step-father. It would fit.
