I am new here . I found this site a few weeks ago but with the holidays didn't get a chance to really keep up or sign up! I am glad I did now!

My husband and I have been watching this awesome show since the beginning and we have followed some of the clues. We have an idea about what Locke found and would love to share it with the rest of you for further speculation.

Could it be that somehow Locke found the 1930's REAL plane that Kate had a model of? Could it be that Kate somehow went looking for that plane? Could it be that there is a treasure in that plane that she is after? And now unbeknownst to her , Locke found the plane that she has been searching for? If you go with this theory for a bit, you can start thinking all kinds of things. The US Marshall she was with was also a ploy. The guns could be there to help her when she found the plane and it's treasure. Come on guys....I know I am new to this but it is something worth investigating!

And wow, what a great and original idea! I've heard theories that it's Amelia Airheart's lost plane, but I really like this theory. I honestly have no idea what it is - I'm leaning towards the underground passage idea, but I really like this idea. It would really put an intrestring twist on the whole show! Good thoughts :)

It is a stretch but you can also somehow encorporate the box number and the plane number in this new fangled idea. It can all go together. I am gonna look more closely at my dvo and see if there is a number on the model of the plane and maybe it can have some kind of significance with the other numbers we are dealing with....

I mean anything is possible in this Island...But how do you think Kate knew that, that plane was gonna crash in the same island???

Well if we take the whole concept and embrace it we can see that she knew the location of where they are...

The co pilot did fall out and the pilot was alive...maybe he knew where they were headed and why they were off course to begin with....maybe the pilot killed the co pilot...not for nothing when a plane crashed....most of the time everyone dies....

maybe he was trying to land the plane onto this island where their previous research concluded that it had crashed at and with this new treasure ..... but since the whole island is somehow possessed it might have only allowed for some to live and others to die...

the ones who are still living have something to repent for in their previous lives....Kate being one of them...she is a good lier ...maybe she does know where they are....and didn't know about the weird stuff of the island...only the location....

soooo...maybe Kate 's plan was to somehow make the landing look like a crash so that she can get the treasure left by her father whose death she was somehow responsible for....she could ahve been in an elabrate scheme to get to this treasure.....

The numbers on the model.....I was trying to play with them...thinking maybe there was a clue with longitude and latitude so we can locate the island.....but there might be more numbers missing to plot on some kind of coordinate grid so she would know the islands location....

I was just about to post something very similar. Perhaps the model plane is the one that Locke & Boone have found. What about Adam & Eve, the couple they found in the caves? Where they on that plane?

Hubby and I in speculation had said last night that perhaps the couple in the cave are Kate's parents left dead from the first plane crashing...the one she has now....explaining her obsesion with getting treasures (Like robbing banks...she had to know what to do to get as far as she had...made a name for herself in the undergroupnd bank robbing society to get as far as she did with decieving the robbers with a false name)

Only to get the the super treasure that her father left in this plane that she crashed many years ago....

But if the metal object that Locke finds is not this plane then we can still use some of the speculations for other newer theories....

i have a few ideas about this plane too... here's what i wrote in another thread:

the number on the plane could be a clue, for whomever the item was left for in the safety deposit box. perhaps kate was searching for something (or someone) and this was one of the clues?

maybe the plane indicated to kate that she must fly somewhere to find the next clue (or to find a person,, eg. claire?!).. and the number on the plane might indicate where abouts she should look. 5025 is the area code for a suburb in Adelaide, South Australia. is that why she went to australia?

damn, i would love to be right here! but i somehow think i am not clever enough to figure this out.. so i don't know! but maybe.. just maybe we're onto something.. or getting warmer. i wish we could have some sort of hint as to whether we were hot or cold.. ahhhh i feel so... err.. lost.. yes well, funny that.
