...She and Charlie and a few others are kind of locked out of the show.

They're too domesticated. They hang out in the main camp doing their chores and occasionally ask one of the "main" characters (ie: a character who wanders off from the main group and finds something interesting in the jungle) what's happening.

Either they have to wander off too or get separated somehow.

Also, not a big fan of the wedding ring storyline.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I feel bad for characters like Sun, who never get to go on any of the "expeditions". But Charlie has gone on quite a few treks through the jungle. He helped Jack and Kate locate the pilot, He went on the trip to listen to the French transmission, He went with Jack, Hurley, and Sayid when the were looking for Danielle, He went with Sayid to rescue Aaron, etc. I think he's just been staying on the beach recently so that he is near Claire and Aaron.

The conventional female characters have it tough as far as storylines go.

As we know them , the nature of their gender roles (Sun being a dutiful wife and Claire being a mother) makes it almost impossible for them to "wander" into a pivotal role in any storyline; the storyline literally has to chase them down and pull them into it.

The one backdoor to all this are the flashbacks, which can always introduce new aspects to a character through "secrets" that will, in present day, motivate the character in a different direction.

Well I think/hope not Jin is back she will get to do more. I love Sun she is my second favorite girl on the island. Just needs for action which is on the writers part.

Ya she is getting attention in the next eppy but not the atention i want. I love sun i enjoy her scenes and even though she hasn't gone on any treks she has been in a lot of major storylines. She was part of the team when saving Boone's life, She poisoned Michael, her scene when she shouts at Michael is one of the most powerful scenes of series 1 (in my opinion). Sun is a great character i like the way she is, if she gets action scenes thats a bonus but im not gonna think her character is bad just because she isn't in all the action scenes.

I can understand where people are coming from. Sun even had to play a very passive role in her own episode HORS, but I give credit to the writers and Yunjin for keeping her interesting despite Sun not being an all-round action woman like Kate.

All I really ask from the show is more screen time.

Yeah, I'm really hoping we get more of her this season, because she is definitely one of my favorite characters, and her story is one of my favorites. I understand that they have to give more attention to the more main characters, but sometimes it's just disappointing not to get a lot of your real favorite characters.

Giving sun a garden? I thought that was ridiculous. The whole season two Sun plotline I just didn't like. Season one when there was conflict it was so much more interesting.
