Mayhaps this should go in Wild Theories, but something struck me funny about the scene where kate was talking to the bank manager, Mark Hutton. At first, I didn't catch it, but something left a funny feeling. So I watched it again. Still couldn't figure out. Finally, when I went through, it struck me how prominent his name was. The screen just screamed Mark Hutton. Repeatedly. Everytime they showed him, it's what my eye was drawn to. Three times they cut to him and showed his full name. The fourth however... oh how I wish I had screen capture... Kate's elbow is conveniently placed to block most of his name. Except for 3 letters. MAP. No P in Mark?? Well there is if her elbow blocks the bottom corner of the R...

I know it sounds kind of silly, and could be a total coincidence... but from the moment I saw that scene, I knew there was something important in it and I'd be willing to bet that's it. Me thinks that plane is a clue to some sort of map. Map of what I have no idea. I tried to think of a few things. The plane could have a map inside... but it's a very small plane, which would make for a very small map...

The numbers 5025 could have something to do with a map. I tried them as latitude and longitude, and it landed me in the western half of Ukraine. So... I dunno. I just know that somehow that part is important. Of course, they've said everything is important...so, lol...

I think this show it so cool the way the viewers look for little clues to answer the many mysteries.
Where did you get that number from 5052?
I think it would be awsome to have pay that much attention to details i mean for the creators.
maybe the word map was for the map Sayid was looking at?

5025 was on the wing of the plane Kate got out of the envelope.

I pondered that map may have meant Sayid's map... perhaps that map has something to do with Kate?? Seems remote, but who knows...

Thinking back on it, I thought something was odd at the time but didn't realize. I was also wondering why the name "Mark Hutton" is practically engraved into my head... I think perhaps there is a strong possibilty we will see this guy in another flashback? There has to be some reason they made us care so much about the name, I don't recall that happening with any other flashback red shirts.

Mark Hutton is either:
1. an uncaring human being that would put peoples life at risk for money that is insured
2. was a co conspiritor

Scary thought...What if Mark Hutton was Danielle's husband, and his name was a clue about a map that lead to the island??

When I first read this thread I was inclined to think this was a meaningless mishap of the camera angle.

I took a peek last night though, and you are right - MAP is very obviously front and center.

AND Mark Hutton is the name of a baseball player who originally signed in New York (where Montauk is located) and this guy was also born in Australia

You will need something like PowerDVD which allow you to capture screen shots from any media file (older versions of PowerDVD will not let you).

Things like Windows Media and Quicktime won't allow you to do it.

Or how about this? What if the toy plane is actually a homing beacon of some sort? I firmly believe there is a strong connection between the island and that toy plane. It probably just has the map inside of it. But no one knows this yet.

Well, they have said that every name on the show has some significance. *Montauk could really explain a plane crash with people who didn't even get hurt, etc. *It would also explain Danielle's craziness. Hmmm.

There is a group who believe that the show is based on a Philadelphia Experiment/Montauk AFB theory. Its pretty involved and has been covered here somewhere. sort of time travel, EMFs, mind control sorta stuff. THere is a community on the internet that believes Montauk AFB had something to do with the crash of TWA flight 800. If you google it you will come up with several pages about Montauk (its my personal fav as far as theories go)

Definately seems deliberate---of course there's always the possibility that a clever yet EVIL director or crew member threw that in to drive us nuts...and is now reading all our posts thinking "dance, puppets, dance!!" :devil:
