Did it seem like Kate's dad was glancing at the tv when she was in there? I know he may have been looking around for cops but the dirrection he was looking seemed to be toward the television, like he was nervous about her seeing it.

I actually think that would be worse.
Most of the little things that you'd catch on HDTV would be because of the higher resolution, not the widescreen aspect. So making the regular broadcast letterboxed would just make things on the screen smaller.

Don't get me wrong, I love widescreen things, but I don't really get letterboxed TV shows.

i watch with a group of friends. some of us have very nice tv's, some of us - like me - have funky old clunkers. the night the shark episode aired, we were at my place, watching on the clunker. several people saw the dharma logo, no problem. tonight, we were at the HDTV widescreen house... and not one of us saw sayid. so - ya never know. enjoy the show, and then come here for the extra scoop on top. ;)
