The interesting thing about the missing piece of the film is not what Marvin Candle had to say... but why someone cut that particular piece...

South Shore 11-30-2005, 11:34 PM Yes. Sabotage. I feel like they have the ability to reach the outside world, and have all along, whether it's in the drug plane with Boone, or now this with the computer. I feel that their entering the code only cloaks them somehow from "radar". It's sabotage, and they are also sabotaging themselves. Hmmm... MaggieRyanJr 12-01-2005, 12:28 AM What about the other splices? Kristatos30 12-01-2005, 12:30 AM other splices? i think they got them all taken care of. mc2thaH 12-01-2005, 12:33 AM Yes. Sabotage. I feel that their entering the code only cloaks them somehow from "radar". It's sabotage, and they are also sabotaging themselves. Hmmm... Maybe this is true, and the "incident" that happened was 16 years ago, when radar and/or radios starting picking up their signals (danielle's science team, and the two military guys). So now they have to input the numbers to keep from the signals getting out. MaggieRyanJr 12-01-2005, 09:29 AM other splices? i think they got them all taken care of. I don't think so. I seem to remember some other obvious jump cuts in the Orientation film. One that I recall specifically is when Candle was talking about BF Skinner and other influences. I'll hunt down my tape of that episode and see if I can be more specific... fancyface 12-01-2005, 12:07 PM I remember that MaggieRyanJr. There does seem to be an another area where it has been spliced. But, I think this is the one the writers are going to go with for the story line. As for the spliced piece, I found it even more interesting that it was placed in a Bible. What, No one ever opens a Bible? When I see a book, the first thing I do is open it up. Right stick it a Bible and hide it in a trunk, with a glass eye. Ther is another thread that you might be interested in that has a very good theory about the sabatoge. Hanso Boys slipped up: if the film was made in 1980... - The Fuselage (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=28298) Laurieg 12-01-2005, 01:50 PM I think there is a piece of film in each hatch along with other clues that when put together tell the whole story. libs30 12-01-2005, 08:02 PM Maybe this is true, and the "incident" that happened was 16 years ago, when radar and/or radios starting picking up their signals (danielle's science team, and the two military guys). So now they have to input the numbers to keep from the signals getting out. I don't think the incident can have happened 16 years ago, as the film was supposedly made in 1980. I think the 20 year old army knife is related to the incident too, like perhaps the military was called in to deal with the incident. |
