Answering this completely irreverent question must be of the most pressing concern...
Actually, Mr. O'Quinn, what I really wanted to do was express my admiration and thank you for your clever portrayal of a fascinating character.* It is always a pleasure to see an actor do his job well.* Kudos, props, et al.* *:)*
I have some quick questions for you:
I was pondering your character today and thinking about the singular quality of his in that he seems to be the only truly content survivor on the island, which got me to thinking that perhaps, in looking at his uniqueness, the way he seems so fit for the island, and the symbolism of his name, he is the "Locke" (and, heh heh "key" perhaps?) which serves as the cataylst of the island- as sort of "they're there because he is there" sort of theory.* Just speculation- and your show is certainly full of enough enigmas to get on a-speculatin'!* Wow, I sure didn't take long enough to get around to the actual question... which is, do the writers and producers give you much advance idea of character development at all, or do yourself and your fellow actors speculate just as much about where your individual characters will go?* *If that is the case, it must make for one very exciting set!* As an actor myself, I think the situation you are in- where you must play the characters in the moment according to your knowledge of them to the point and your feeling of what they could be as a really interesting element which must be creatively thrilling!
My other question is completely superficial... since you are quasi- through filming- living out my ultimate fantasy scenerio of getting stranded on an exciting, yet more or less basic needs are taken care of, desert island and thus get to spend your time in the warm Hawaiian sun, could you give me a brief descriptor of the weather where you are right now?* I am currently bogged down under diploma reviews and freezing silly here in this fabulous -27 degrees celcius western Canadian weather.* It will, most undoubtedly, bring figurative sunshine to my day.*
Thanks for you consideration, and all I can say is I wish the best for your character's presence on the show for a long time to come, because I can't wait to see where you'll take Mr. Locke!
Cheers,
Suzie.
