"That's about the sweetest thing I've ever heard," Sawyer says as he slowly opens his eyes. "Who the hell is Wayne?" And with that, Sawyer steps out of the metaphorical woods.

I think Sawyer's gonna have a lot of "best lines in series history" . . . the writers do an EXCELLENT job, and his character is just ripe enough with sarcasm, hard truth, and wittiness to make lines like his more than memorable.

I actually asked Javi who was responsible for those great Sawyer lines, and this is what he said . . .

we work on creating the stories together, then we write them either individually or in teams, and finally, damon and carlton have oversight over all the scripts - i think we are all pretty proficient at writing all the characters, so no one is responsible for any one character. the nice thing about working in such a collective way is that a good zinger can come from enywhere!

I loved the 'big a$$ horse' line, so Sawyer!

Of course, 'What do you keep smilin at?' was pretty good too!!

(In all honesty, anything that comes out of his mouth, I like!!)

i agree tross...i tend to sway to the one that is not so sawyer...thats the sweetest thing ive ever heard...and so sawyer...who the hell is wayne?...lol...that one just got me...everyone's fav the big $ss horse in the middle of the jungle...thanks to josh for giving sawyer those lines their hilarious, laugh out loud delivery...and thanks to the writers for putting them to paper...there has to be someone from the south in there, because u guys have a few of my old friends nailed, with the sawyer character

I agree with you Skyblue, either they have a Southerner developing his character or Josh gets to have a great deal of creative input. One of my favorites came from Season 1 in Born To Run:

lisagwilkins love the line from born to run...just watched it the other night...since the break started me and the rest of the lost bunch have started the centric marathon...kate one night....sawyer the next...loved the line on ur siggy too...i really like the scenes between sayid and sawyer

Well, I kept my vote the same. I'll withhold excitement over the "I love her" until we know who the heck he was talking about!

I think that no matter what the writer write for Josh to say he will say it perfectly. If ever there was an example of perfect casting I think this would be it. And can i just say that i am so happy that Sawyer is up and talking again because lost is just not the same without Sawyer bringing the snark comments

You got that right Luanne...the show would run into the ground without him....I believe our darlin' boy is gonna be around for a loooonnnnngggggg time.....truth be told, I'll betcha he's a lot of people's favorite, whether they're willing to admit it or not.

Check out the article in USA Today for Nov. 30, it's about Josh....one of the VIP's (Carlton, I think) said Josh is the "right actor in the right role" and also that he has the potential to go all the way to movies. Even Josh has said he want's to do, "big cool-a$$ movies." (That's in the LOST companion guide book.

bingo! i so love it when he adds freckles at the end of sentence..but i do have to say, Tross you gave me a hard time choosing.. Great Job... i mean like sawyer's character so much that whatever he says makes me say.."this guy's, one smart***" :biggrin:
