I just had to post this....they derserved to win! Boy, was I sad and mad at the same time! :( Desperate Housewives, no affense to the people who watch it, stinks! I think Lost is a lot better show than DH! lol, I don't know how many times I voted for Lost online, I'm glad the polls stayed open till the end..that was cool! I'm still sad about them not winning, but I'm happy they were nominated and that they are nominated for the Golden Globes as well! So, I'm so looking forward of that! I'll be praying for you guys!

Good luck and I hope you guys are doing well! You are not losers to me! You're more derserving winners than losers! I love you guys! Funny to see the cast holding the lost signs! I was so happy to see you guys seating there! :) I love you guys!

i found the people's choice awards kind of insulting anyway. *i was looking at the categories, and they had such things as best hairdo, best "look' ! *that's ridiculous, i mean, who cares!!!???? *if you're going to have an awards show stick to the things that actually matter, like best actor, movie, etc. things that take real work and a sense of real accomplishment!
...and don't even get me started on so called reality television!! (no offense please to those who like them)

sorry just had to vent!

yeah. I wasn't really expecting Lost to win, but Desperate Housewives?? *shudder* I thought the "people" were better than this! heh heh, no offense to any DH fans here..... just, Lost is the cream of the crop! no doubt about it! at least we know who the real winner is.

a bit off: I was glad Finding Neverland won something (Johnny D) because it really was a great movie. :)

01-09-2005, 11:14 PM
lol, hey none taken! I know I thought it was funny that we had to vote for best hair and stuff! It shouldn't have been in the catagories.....what a waste of air time and web space....yeah, this award show should be more about the performances made than silly hair and clothes celebs show off. So, yeah, I agree with you completly! It's really dumb.

Lost should have won, but we know in our hearts they are the true winners. Congrats people of LOST for making a show that is worth watching and investing time in. :-*

01-09-2005, 11:29 PM
Yeah, Tari..there will always be in our hearts as winners. Yeah, congrats to them for making this show so worth watching and for creating this website for all of us! That is so awesome of them for doing that! I don't think other creators of hit shows have created a site like this. That has the cast talking on the site with the fans...it's pretty cool of them. :) You guys rock! You really do. Thank you. :)

and this isn't a related to my subject, I'm also very happy and relieved that Extreem Makeover: Home Edition won!!! They really really deserved the award! I am very touched by that show! :)

I wish Lost would have won. :'( I actually like DH (I'm probably in the minority here!), so I'm OK with their win. Reason I'm happy DH won?? If Lost didn't get it, then at least CSI: Miami didnt!!

David Caruso gives me the heebiejeebies....he's such a diva.

And what's up with Matt LeBlanc winning over Matthew Fox?? There is no way (IMO), that LeBlanc is a better actor than Fox. I wouldn't waste my time watching this awards show next year (as someone else said "who cares about best look and best hairdo?).

Well, there's always the Golden Globes!

Can I just say that being a Lost fan and also I've just started watching Desperate Housewives. You have to remember that each genre caters to a certain group. Sex and the City has left a big hole as to what to watch and Lost does not exactly fit that bill. Whereas Desperate Housewives does.

I'm not talking about from the sexual point of view, but from a point of view most or some women can identify with. I found DH quite entertaining and funny, The nosey neighbour and the secrets the lane holds.

Now DH's has a great writing team and it's apparent that this show is good. I'm not saying it's the best thing since slice bread. But it's entertaining, it's got a good cast and it's enjoyable to watch. Remember if it was a people's vote then you can't blaim anyone but the people who voted for it.

I think DH's is good and I'll still watch it, but if I had to choose which one to watch if both were on at the same time?

Lost.

(I'd tape DH's LOL...hang on I'd tape Lost so I could watch it over and over and watch DH's) :D

But like I say both shows are great, but it depends on your obsession with the show. I guess there are more fans for DH's and it caters to a wider audience.

I also like Desperate Housewives- it's a really funny, great show....

But Lost is definately the better show. I turned it on after I finished watching 24, heard the results for "Best New TV Drama", then heard Michael Moore announced as the next winner and just turned it off....Blah!

At least they showed the Peanut Butter clip. :lol2: I myself would have shown the 'Saving Charlie' clip but that's just me.

I can tell tales of how these award shows can be rigged so a certain show or artist wins so these fan voted shows do not impress me. I'll save my wrath/joy for the Emmy and Gold Globe awards.

Well, I did my part. I voted over and over and over and over and over again, whenever I got the chance.

Awards do not prove how good a show is. *A show is proved by it sucess by how many people watch it.

Awards mean nothing, but to inflate egos and prove nothing. *Just because DH's won does not mean the other shows nominated are worse.

Just as best actors awards are no way telling us that they are better than them. *If you truely think that awards aren't rigged then oh dear.

But you can mostly trust the people's vote for tv shows. *You will find that they are a better realistic vote than something like the Oscars.

The ones I don't trust are the people's vote, espeically the online award polls. I have been in on some online rigging of votes and it wasn't pretty. Several years ago Bon Jovi and U2 were up for something...I can't remember what...from an online poll. The Bon Jovi fans got some software and rigged the votes in their favor. So the U2 fans did the same to make it even. So the Bon Jovi fans turned in the U2 fans for cheating (even though the BJ fans were doing it first) So all the votes were thrown out and Dave Matthews won the award. :lol2: That time they got caught but it still wasn't a fair indicator of who actually might have 'won' had things been completely fair.

I've known of people using techniquies like deleting cookies, using multiple computers in an office after work hours....all kinds of elaborate ways of 'rigging the votes'. So I don't trust the 'people's vote.

I'm NOT saying that is what happened here. For all I know DH won fair and square. I'm just saying I'll always be a little bit suspicious of those things.

I don't like it when people vote, especially when they can do it again... and again... I mean we have a life, I voted for Lost like, 50 times, but I had other things to do!
I guess we Lost fans were too busy with wild theories to go and vote thousands of times!

I still prefer the people's vote. It casts a more realistic vote than one voted for by suits.

Amelie should have won an Oscar that time it was nominated, yet it went to another movie. Did you hear the disappointment in the audience? Even they did not expect it.

Lord of the Ring's should have won all three oscars for best picture. Instead they waited until the 3rd movie and gave them all to them. If the voting was done right Lord of the Rings would have most probably won at least 2 for best movie. At least the Empire awards painted a truer picture of how awards should be given out to those who are nominated.

Besides awards aren't everything, I stopped watching them a long time ago...although it is nice to see who turns up.

Yeah I know what you mean. I mean, I'm a LotR fan so I was so disappointed for the first two movies (especially when you see which ones won instead of them ::)) but also very happy for the third one.
In fact, when my "favorite" wins an award I'm happy but when it loses, I say to myself that awards aren't everything.
It's just... it'd be okay if there was a way to make the people's vote fair, with only one vote by person and also in a representative part of the population (because it's not representative when only fans of the shows go to a website to vote). I don't know if you see what I mean but the fact that you have to be told to go on a website to vote is not representative. because only the people who are already very interested in the shows will vote. It'll be more representative to... I don't know... call random people and ask them their preferences or sth like that.

To add insult to injury the cast of Desperate Wives was nowhere to be seen. (Besides Marcia and some other actor) I guess they don't care much about the stupid award.

To me, the show, the cast, the crew, are already winners. They don't need an award to prove they are the best. They all do that each and very week. Congratulations Lost on a job well done.

01-11-2005, 12:21 AM
Lostdreamer29, thank you for saying that. I feel the same way. :)

I hope the cast and crew know that they are all true winners without the awards! We know as fans, that their hardwork, dedication and awesome commitment they put into the show...giving their best.... are #1 and will always be. No matter what happens, I got your back cast and crew!! :)

Dom already knows the shows a winner because he said that people are watching the show because it's good, not because he's in it. Which says a lot.

It's not a bad thing to come to watch Lost because your fav actor is in it, the more the merrier. It's called support. But Lost is a good show and you can't even compare it to Lost because they are two different types of drama.
