Hello everyone, I'm just curious to see where everyone stands. Feel free to post what you really enjoyed about that particular episode and other episodes that you feel stood out and made Lost what it is.

P.S. It wasn't an easy choice, but I voted for "White Rabbit" because this episode defined Jack as the leader of the fuselage survivors and added more to the island mystery: Jack seeing his deceased father and the chase that led to his discovery of the caves---and who could forget these words of wisdom that helped define, early on, the Jack/Locke dynamic:


LOCKE: "Why are you out here Jack?"
JACK: "I think I'm going crazy."
LOCKE: "No. You're not going crazy. Crazy people don't know they're going crazy. They think they're getting saner."


LOCKE: "I'm an ordinary man Jack, meat and potatoes, I live in the real world. I'm not a big believer in magic. But this place is different. It's special. The others don't want to talk about it because it scares them. But we all know it. We all feel it. Is your white rabbit a hallucination? Probably. But what if everything that happened here, happened for a reason? What if this person that you're chasing is really here?"


LOCKE: "You need to finish what you've started."
JACK: "Why?"
LOCKE: "Because a leader can't lead until he knows where he's going."

I liked Walkabout because I so did not see that coming!

My favorite, and I know it's kind of cliche, but I really like the pilot. We get our basic introduction to all the characters that we have grown to love so much. Kind of like looking at your childhood with nostalgia, you know?

My favorite was Numbers. I remember freaking out seeing Hurley win the lotto and then seeing strange things start to happen afterward. I think it was the first episode- at the time- that weirded me out.. in a good way!

I voted for "Walkabout"...my second favorite would be "Numbers".

I had to vote for Raised by Another. It was the moment between Ethan, Charlie and Claire. I also really loved All the Best Cowboys have Daddy Issues and all of Exodus!

Had to pick Numbers. To quote Hurley...never saw that one coming. Ole laid back Hurley is a millionaire. And the bonus of Sawyer and the glasses...priceless.

Loved loved loved All the best cowboys... How can you not... Numbers a close second :)

I voted for Raised By Another because its such a good episode and its way more shocking then Walkabout i think.

Hearts and Minds and In Translation were also brilliant episodes but i couldn't pick all three.

numbers is my fav episode of season 1, it changes the whole story

I picked Raised By Another. I loved how the whole psychic thing played out- and the Ethan stuff! I'm looking forward to the next Claire episode!

Other favorites are Deux Ex Machina, Numbers and Walkabout

It's a hard decision as the whole season is a masterpiece of TV entertainment as far as I'm concerned. It would be easier to pick an episode I didn't like quite as much as the rest.

But I picked Numbers, as it elevated the story to a whole new level.

I was going to go with Walkabout but I think the Jack/Sawyer scene in Exodus part one really made the episode, just good stuff.

I think it's really interesting that Claire's episode is one of the favorites and we haven't had an episode with her since! I can't wait for the one coming up!

I loved "Homecoming" and "Raised by another" but I just had to pick "Exodus Part2" it had my favourite Charlie and Claire moments from the series in it, especially when Charlie walks into camp with Aaron near the end.

I thought "Numbers" was great, and now I see I'm not the only the one. Something about it made my spine tingle, and any screen time for Hurley is a good thing. However in the end I had to go for "All the best cowboys have daddy issues", as it was just full to the brim with action, and it really had me going with Charlie at the end. Then the big moment at the very end, where Boone and Locke find the hatch. Good stuff.

My favourite has to be Pilot part 1, this is where the story could be anything, lots of things rushing around in peoples heads, where they could be? what happened? etc.
But i love it from a photographic point of view too, the cinematography in it really sends shivers down my spine, the fact that your focusing on this rather dashing gentleman in a nice looking suit but little do you know that the people in the background are the people you will be spending your evenings with. The realistic reactions from everyone, shannon standing screaming is what i would probably be doing heh, charlie wondering around looking "lost", jack trying to block out what happened to help others, Kate concentrating on herself etc. Amazing....!

I just love Exodus, especially the ending (before the opening of the Hatch). The way it draws everyone together on the plane was the perfect way to end the season. And it was one of the only episodes to make me cry :*(

Definitely Exodus, Part I for me as well. The raft launching absolutely cemented for me that this would be my favorite show for a long time. Over the entire season, Lost had spent an enormous amount of time telling us about each character's history, their personalities, and all of the things they had invested in each other. When the raft sailed, it was the greatest sense of "family" (for lack of a better term) that I've seen on any show.

We were invested in all of these people, and sending four out to sea was just amazingly powerful.

Oh my yes! I forgot that part.

The way that everyone is connected before the crash. Jack picks uo the leaflet for locke, the way hurley looks at walt, charlie and his guitar, etc.
I admire the art of it, i never understood people who said "the art moved me!" but i totally understand it now, from the plane scene. I was so emotional just thinking about it. It has to be a joint first on the favourite scene.

Me too. (Although I do like Deus Ex Machina, Numbers and Outlaws quite a bit as well.)

I really liked s1 flashback eps more than s2 overall. However I like the island story of s2 over s1. Go figure.

For me it was Confidence Man, this episode was not only the episode which started my love for not only Sawyer but also for Skate. After this episode I was totally hooked on Lost and could not get enough of it :D

i picked the moth cuz like duh!!!!! its all about charlie and i love it when he was all singing and he was all sweaty. mmm okay okay snap out of it.

That was a very hard choice because I still haven't found a "LOST"-episode I didn't love!
But in the end I voted for "Deus Ex Machina" mainly because of the scene with Locke at the end of the episode: I totally freaked out when the light went on inside the hatch!

hmm tough one....the first episode I ever saw was White Rabbit so always gonna love that episode. But the pilot was Freaking brilliant so Thats my all time favourtie episode. Exodus 1 and 2 were pretty damn good too.

I liked Do No Harm.. such a sad episode! :frown:

Deus Ex Machina, no question, followed by Walkabout. Series 1 Locke episodes > everyone elses.

I was torn between White Rabbit and Born to Run. On the one hand, Kate is my favorite character and that's my favorite Kate episode. On the other, White Rabbit is the episode that really got me addicted to this show... so I chose All The Best Cowboys... Close enough to White Rabbit and with extra Christian (I love that storyline) and feisty Kate to boot.

Wow! My favourite 'Numbers' is winning.

Walkabout got me hooked on this show. :clapping:

My favorite episode of Lost is Exodus part 1 . It is how I judge all the other episodes.

For me it comes down between Exodus part 1 and the Pilot. I picked the pilot for relentless drama and plenty of surprises. I wish more episodes would keep us on the edge like that.

The pilot because that's where it all began. It's really hard actually to choose just one though.

I voted for the season finale - there was so much going on, and it was really brilliant. The Pilot deserves a mention, for being so good that it pulls you into the show and grips you straight. Numbers and All the Best Cowboys... were good too.
