View Full Version : Calling all Kiwis!!
dylan_1200 01-12-2006, 11:47 AM Wow...NZ gets its own terminal...woohoo!! Thanks Mods, this is great.
As an ex pat living in Oz Im hoping to catch up with any fellow Kiwis out there or even living abroad who are fans of the show. Oz is about to start Season 2 but wheres NZ up to at the moment? Curious to know.
Has anyone actually seen the latest episodes yet? And whats your theories on what you have seen? C'mon Kiwis...band together and lets see how busy we can make this terminal to show how big an impact a small country can make.
LSP07 01-12-2006, 05:34 PM Hey
This is my first post on these forums but i have reading them for ages now.
I have been downloading the torrents of the episodes and watching them because i cant wait until whenever it screens here.
I have no theorys because some of the people that post on this board would just make a fool out of me lol.
Good to hear from a fellow NZer on these boards
dylan_1200 01-13-2006, 06:09 AM Hey LSP, welcome to the boards...well your obviously an oldie lurker. I think after the 23rd psalm Im willing to believe almost any theory (except purgatory) lol. And dont worry about your theories looking foolish, Im up to about 456 theories and thats 455 fools ive looked like.
Are you up to speed with the epis, have u seen 23rd psalm yet? Whaddya think?
Zoriah 01-13-2006, 02:47 PM Hey there, Aucklander here. Have been loving the show (and discussing it to death heh) and finally caved and started downloading the second season. No idea when it's supposed to start up again here, but I fervently hope it is soon.
gatoradenz 01-13-2006, 02:59 PM Not many sites give a New Zealand forum!!!! I'm a Kiwi living in Kansas USA!!!! Completely loving the 2nd season!!!!
dylan_1200 01-13-2006, 09:15 PM Hey guys, wow we are coming out of the woodwork lol. I used to live in Grafton Zoriah for many years. Will be coming back for my sisters wedding in December. And wow gator, how does a kiwi end up in Kansas lol. I spent 2 years in Boston but never been to Kansas.
Welcome btw, great to see you delurking lol. Im hoping we can get a few more of us coming out so to speak.
Zoriah, youve certainly been busy lol. Im yet to join any groups but have been thinking about it. Any tips?
Zoriah 01-14-2006, 01:59 AM Well, I guess just joined up to the groups that really appealed. I have been around since season one, couldn't stay away lol. I even started a few myself after a while.
Best thing to do is lurk in a group that you like (for example if you are fond of Sawyer, check out DIMPLES) sort of get a feel for how they interact and then take the plunge and introduce yourself. It's pretty easy and people are welcoming and love to have fresh new blood to talk to.
UKKiwi 01-14-2006, 01:48 PM At last, thankyou very much Mods!
I am an ex-pat living in the UK, and have wanted to see a Kiwi board for ages - I believe you're rerunning Season One there.
We have only just finished Saeson One on Wednesday in the UK, but are getting Season Two in March/April
Oh by the way there is a project on this board (see The Project in the Games section for directions) Dr Candle is in charge.
gatoradenz 01-14-2006, 03:12 PM same old story, met hubby online!! Lived in CA for 3 years then moved here to KS....considering the move home to wgtn NZ in 3 more years....
dylan_1200 01-14-2006, 08:31 PM Hi UK, Ive seen you about and wondered about the name lol. Ill check out the projects board thanks!
Gator, I met my girl, online as well. Moved to Oz because she couldnt move to NZ 6 years ago. I think its more profound our story than having met in a bar drunk lol. I have to order a few things from NZ like Bell Tea and mmm honey lol...miss some of the great foods of home.
UKKiwi 01-15-2006, 09:40 AM YEah my handle is what I am, I haven't seen anyone else that I recognise from other boards yet. I tend to use this handle everywhere
LSP07 01-16-2006, 03:04 AM If anyone is interested and living in NZ, TV2 just had a preview commercial for the 2nd season of Lost even though i've seen every latest episode.Just thought i'd bring it up because pretty soon everyone will have Lost fever
Zoriah 01-16-2006, 03:06 AM Fantastic! thanks for the heads up!
dylan_1200 01-16-2006, 06:42 AM Can u believe Oz. Its previews not only say you will learn whats in the hatch in the first 3 minutes(giving it away) they are also playing the crash from 48 days as a preview. Geez why dont they just show eko face to face with ole smokey lol.
UKKiwi 01-16-2006, 01:32 PM LOL, that's what they did in the States!
gatoradenz 01-16-2006, 03:55 PM At least youre closer to home than I am...it costs a small fortune to order any kiwi food here....theres a bunch of australian food sites that I can order a few things from but NZ food has to come from NZ, $20 in shipping is a killer!!!
UKKiwi 01-17-2006, 02:26 AM At least youre closer to home than I am...it costs a small fortune to order any kiwi food here....theres a bunch of australian food sites that I can order a few things from but NZ food has to come from NZ, $20 in shipping is a killer!!!
I think 12,000 miles beats you as my p&p is more than that I miss Pimneapple lumps, chocolate fish, Bell tea - can get Vegemite here but only small jars
gatoradenz 01-17-2006, 03:11 PM OH MY GOD, pineapple lumps YUMMO.... I miss chicken chips, chocolate biscuits, not the fudgey cookies they have here in the states YUCK..... I"m at the moment trying to track down some chit chats!!!
dylan_1200 01-18-2006, 07:10 AM Chit Chats!! Lmao and pineapple lumps mmm. I really cant live without my Bell Tea, Oz tea is just ....nah lol. Oh and Toffee pops and Mallowpuffs are a luxury sometimes. But I cant complain when I think of you two lol. There is a kiwi shop in Sydney but its like 3 times the normal price to shop there.
gatoradenz 01-18-2006, 03:51 PM OMG what I'd do for a packet of mallowpuffs and toffee pops. A friend in NZ recently sent me a Griffins Sampler Box...
Zoriah 01-18-2006, 06:32 PM I prefer choysa myself, but american tea is even worse than aussie lol. Really, they wouldn't know a good cuppa if it hit them upside the head. ;)
UKKiwi 01-19-2006, 12:49 AM oh mallowpuffs - isn't it funny how you forget things - yes my Mum drinks Choyca tea. I miss Jelly Tip Lollies, and the chocolate coating on top of the cone and you don't get all the different flavours that you get at thome - Hokey pokey ice-cream, mmmmm. I also miss Lemon and Paeroa and saveloys (strange combo I know!)
dylan_1200 01-19-2006, 06:24 PM lol UK. Forgot L&P....hoping to see more kiwis coming out of the closet.
ashcookie 01-19-2006, 07:07 PM Good news everyone. Lost Media has just reported that the season two starts up in NZ with a recap and lost special on Feb 1st, then "Man of Science, Man of Faith" (ep 2.1) on Feb 8th! Finally!!
ashcookie 01-19-2006, 07:07 PM Oh, and Hi! I'm ashcookie from Wellington by the way!
LSP07 01-19-2006, 07:35 PM Welcome ashcookie im new to posting here aswell. Have you seen any of the season 2 episodes yet or are you waiting for it to air here? I just finished watching The Hunting Party
ashcookie 01-19-2006, 10:12 PM Well I've pretty much spoiled the whole second season but I haven't watched it yet. Just me and my imagination for now. Am just watching the first series on DVD for the fifth time.
UKKiwi 01-21-2006, 08:16 PM Hi Ash & LSP - Lost in NZ - just text CFB in Napier
dylan_1200 01-21-2006, 09:32 PM Yes Kia ora all,
Welcome to our own little piece of real estate on the lage. I hope more come out of the woodwork, itd be awesome.
And just a quick note of warning: Be sure not to overly discuss anything about where or how you may be watching the epis if they are acquired by some form other than tele or dvds. Discussions on the epis content are cool but no where can I get it from on the computer questions or I downloaded it from...etc etc allowed.
Apart from that...cant wait to get to know you all. :-)

Kiwi girl 01-22-2006, 02:21 AM Wow, I'm away for a little while and when I come back we have our oun thread??? Great! Hello to my fellow Kiwi Lost addicts
I'm waiting to get my hands on The Hunting Party at the moment but other than that I'm up to date. I love this show and also post at the Lost Forum under my same name. I write a bit of shipper fan fic in my spare time too. It's Sunday evening here and I'm having a few bourbons to unwind *cheers* to my fellow NZers.
gatoradenz 01-24-2006, 12:00 PM Ok after reading this I'm totally starving for nz food. Mallowpuffs, L & P, did you ever visit the bottle in Paeroa? I used to live in Whangamata so we'd drive past it all the time. Tracked down some Chit Chats via the Kiwitreats website but the shipping is outrageous!!! Going to have to stick with the aussie equivalent that I can get here... tim tams...
UKKiwi 01-24-2006, 04:30 PM Ah Tim Tams, yes i do remember the Paeroa bottle, and I have been through Whangamata (about 30 years ago though!)
akasha_ishtar 03-13-2006, 12:29 AM I am a bit surprised that our little board is not more active, I mean not much happens here, which is a very big shame since Lost is a top show over here. It would be real nice to get to know Lost fans from all over New Zealand, so we should all join in a bit more and get our board a bit more lively and be chating a bit more. (It is just an idea as I think it would be a lot more fun):)
ZebisNZ 04-10-2006, 06:18 AM Hey what about Milo!! :) yum yum!... no other hot chocolate is better!

Zebis, don't worry in the end (like with Season 1) we only end up being 3 or so weeks behind because the US tend to go on hiatus for several weeks during certain periods - I think they just had one not too long ago.

Welcome Jon and Zebis you could be like the ex-pat Kiwis in the UK who have to wait until May 2 for the new series to start
Lostin_nz 04-23-2006, 11:08 AM Hi all,
I'm in Auckland and I've been a fan of LOST since the very first episode
This is also my first post here although I've frequented this board for some time
This past week (Wed 19th April) on TV2 we had "23rd Psalm" (my favorite episode so far even over "Lockdown" and others) and as you can guess I'm an impatient LOSTer and download the latest episodes from the Net
One advantage we have here over the US is we haven't had any breaks between our episodes (the US schedule's been killing me especially over Christmas)
One last note for you fans of L&P..
You can make a substitute from a mixture of Coke and Sprite
Regards
xxLostGirl92xx 04-24-2006, 10:27 AM hello kiwi's!

emilyjem 05-08-2006, 10:47 PM I've just watched Two For The Road as well. The worst thing is keeping it all inside so as not to spoil my friends who watch it on TV. What a shock ending, loving it.
