View Full Version : Desmond
Laurieg 01-13-2006, 08:40 AM I was hoping he was going to show up this week.
The man has been a no show sinse he ran off.
So what are the choices.....He shows up as a hostage of the others.
He's been hiding out with Danale (sp)
He is hiding all alone in the jungle.
He is a part of Dharma and has been pick up and isn't even on the island any more.
So what do you guys think?
To the
mods, mini mods and all other powers. Sorry if this thread is int he wrong place.
The_Monkey 01-13-2006, 08:43 AM I miss him. It would be pretty funny if he and the other outlaw on the island, Danielle, would hook up. They are perfect for eachother.
Toxi51 01-13-2006, 08:44 AM I don't think Desmond is part of the others. When the computer broke he looked completely freaked out and just took off....
I'm sure he'll be back soon once he figures out there's no way off the island by himself and he says to himself "hey, the computer broke like a week ago and nothing happened!!."........ :)
Next week looks great with the lost-eees looking for Mike and get surrounded by "the others" at least that's what the promo looked like......
Kel_C 01-13-2006, 09:29 AM I have a very strong/funny feeling that when Desmond returns, he has Walt with him.
He may have stumbled across The Others, engaged in some kind of fight - maybe they took him capture, he found Walt, and escaped with him.
dylan_1200 01-13-2006, 09:41 AM Like Charlie he may run out of his secret number wonder drug. He may get caught sneaking back in for more supplies.
Maybe the fact the cut section of film from the swan station found in the arrow station suggests something similar has happened before and Des is repeating a similar cycle, only he may find the other stations arent so whole as the one hes left.
I think he will be back when the creators are ready to give us some of the answers to his story. I dont want more questions upon his return...we have enough lol.
Toxi51 01-13-2006, 10:03 AM Dylan, good answer!!!! I read that they like to answer some questions and at the same time present new ones......
Although I doubt he will return with Walt, maybe he'll return with some information as to where he is..........
Yeah I forgot about the stuff he was injecting himself with...... perhaps he'll run into the trouble and return to the place he was safe.... aka swan station..
bigdog13 01-13-2006, 10:05 AM Toxi, promos are spoliers and should be blacked out.....
Toxi51 01-13-2006, 11:22 AM will do, sorry!
I just figured since the promo was shown over two days ago that it was safe to mention.
ekos_echo 01-13-2006, 12:33 PM I really like the character of desmond's, but I was thinking that they can't bring him back to soon. He would give away too many answers immediately. He would have to have amnesia like claire.
Toxi51 01-13-2006, 12:39 PM I think some people here would revolt if they played the amnesia card again.......:)
but desmond would only really know whatever Calvin told him. I'm not sure how long Calvin died to when Desond first arrived. If it wasn't that long then Desmond might not know that much.......
Since everybody else on this show never talks about important stuff, it is possible that Calvin just told him the bare-minimum...
ekos_echo 01-13-2006, 12:42 PM i would revolt too. I revolted when claire had amnesia, then my friends said stop revolting all the time. now I only revolt in extreme situations. ???
yeah, I guess he may not know too much. yeah
Toxi51 01-13-2006, 12:47 PM i'm still curious as to where Calvin's body is...?
I can't see how one person could bury a body who has to keep leaving every 108 minutes to push a button..........

I like that idea.
It'll be interesting to see what insights Desmond provides if/when he returns.
You're not thinking the right way here. All of what you propose does nothing to further the Desmond Story Line or the Hatch.
What if we see him on a completely different part of the Island doing something that no one here can even imagine. Let's say:
He runs off 300 yards into the jungle when he flees from Jack. And then he locates a tunnel system that he was told existed under a palm tree with the "numbers" carved into it. So he descends down into the tunnel and traverses the entire length of the island to the other side - where no one has been.
He finds the cable on the beach - we all THINK it's part of Rousseau, but it's not. It's part of Dharma and it leads to an underwater encapsulated bunker (where the branded sharks are from) and he is there living for a "specified period of time" after which it will be safe to emerge in the event of another "incident".
You gotta push the envelope here when discussing this show. :)

Kel_C 01-13-2006, 01:41 PM I think the potential 'underwater bunker' is pretty obvious and has been mentioned tonnes of times by many people on this board.
1. The shark(sharks maybe?) are gurading it
2. The cable on the beach almost definetly leads to it (providing power, network etc)
^^^^ two very important, and again obvious points.
I don't think desmond would be in there though.
Toxi51 01-13-2006, 01:47 PM Did we ever discover what the cable is attached to on the Island...? I know Sayid was following it when he ran into Danielle. Could it be hooked up to the supposed radio tower that she mentioned....?
I wouldn't go so far as an undewater bunker. Maybe it's a power line to a small cave that is only accessible by boat....? Still on the island but on a mountain side that you cannot get to without a boat. It would make sense since the people who took Walt had an engine that made noise and not a sailboat. If they were anywhere near the lost-ees they would have heard the engine. But if there's a cave far away........

ladyrune24 01-13-2006, 01:47 PM Playing Devil's advocate here:
Maybe he's not the survivor we think he is. What if he's an "Other" recruit pick to make Hanso believe they still had control on at least part of the island? When the computer's shot, he freaks and runs back to them, letting them know what's going on and where the other castaways are since Ethan was killed and they've been hounding the tailies?
Whose to say he was telling the truth and whose to say that he'd been told the truth by Calvin?
ladyrune24 01-13-2006, 01:49 PM On an unrelated issue, why hasn't the lady with TNT blown up the "Other" controlled radio tower? That would be the first thing on my list if I didn't want them off the island because of the "sickness."
Toxi51 01-13-2006, 01:50 PM Ladyrune, anything is possible but he truely looked freaked out and scared about the computer. I think Calvin is the Hanso/Dharma guy......
But then again who is to say that there is a Calvin...? Desmond could have made the whole thing up when Locke didn't know the password and Desomnd was "captured".

Toxi51 01-13-2006, 01:53 PM Do you mean the french chick...? She probably can't get near it and she is scared of them. Besides as poor Arse found out, handling the dynamite can be dangerous.......
