View Full Version : What do you think Sayid is doing?
whoknowswhy99 01-18-2006, 09:29 AM This thread has a two fold purpose. First, since there was no sign of Sayid in last week's episode and from the looks of things he is awol again this week, I was wondering what we all thought he was up to behind the scenes. (Let's be creative, folks...mourning Shannon is a given).
The second purpose of this thread is to let the producers and writers, whom I hear sometimes scan these boards, know that we love and miss this character and...ahem...would like to see more of him. Take that anyway you wish. ;)
LostMyMarbles 01-18-2006, 10:46 AM I am very annoyed that we're not seeing Sayid. As I said on the "Hunting Party" preview thread, it's a waste of both the dramatic plotline and the wonderful actor.
And of course I'm annoyed, but not at all surprised, that apparently neither Michael nor Sayid has shared information about their strange Walt contacts.
It's hard to say what shape Sayid is in now. He saw a ghost, saw his girl die in his arms, and survived a terrifying hostage situation, all in rapid succession. Most people would be pretty much catatonic for awhile.
But I wish he were out with the hunting party, where at least he could avoid the sight of Ana Lucia and feel useful, instead of sitting in the Love Shack brooding. (Although it might not be a good idea to give Sayid a gun right now.)
And I definitely wish we could see someone approach Sayid to try to offer some sort of comfort. The only conversation we've seen Sayid have was with Kate, and she was babbling about her problems! No wonder he didn't seem overly interested.
Ana Lucia has so far been comforted onscreen by three people (four if you count Eko), yet Sayid is ignored. Grrrrr.
irish lost fan 01-18-2006, 12:19 PM If your missing Sayid i've good news:
He has another flashback episode entitled "One of Them" coming out soon i think its 3 episodes after tonights, my guess by the title that there is somethin to do with the others involved in it

That's not confirmed, is it?
i_ love_ lost 01-18-2006, 12:24 PM he was probally mourning for shannon or just walking about
irish lost fan 01-18-2006, 12:27 PM That's not confirmed, is it?
Well i would say yes but then Locke's episode which was supposed to be in 2 weeks time was replaced with a Sawyer episode
I found all this out on www.spoilerfix.com (http://www.spoilerfix.com) if ya wanna check it out yourself
Cassandra 01-18-2006, 02:52 PM Oh, he was probably doing the usual.
Twiddling his thumbs, maybe playing a round of golf...not stuff that would be, you know, fascinating to see like Kate giving Sawyer a haircut or Hurley and Libby putting up a tent.
or perhaps
However,
I think TV Guide confirmed that there will be a Sayid flashback SOMEtime in February, even if the order has been juggled. I just want to see how they wiggle their way out of having Sayid go with the hunting party rather than Jack or Kate, what with Sayid being the one who has maps and has seen Walt.
Alkcalien 01-18-2006, 03:07 PM Cassandra,
if spoilers are to be believed
Sayid appears (briefly) in tonight's episode.
::crossing fingers::

He's probably hibernating somewhere wondering what in the world is coming down the pike next? I'm certain he'd like some vengeance over Ana Lucia killing Shannon, but we all know that Sayid is too admirable than that. Therefore, I conclude he is in mourning and just staying out of everyone's view as he mourns.
BTW--I LOVE your sig line. ;)~Moonchime
Robinhood56 01-20-2006, 07:20 PM Since the episode is over...
My question is when did he get the maroon t-shirt? He only had grey and white ones until now. Where did the new one come from?
Not a question for the ages but something I was wondering. :undecide:
Azaelia 01-20-2006, 09:07 PM ...Maybe he found it stuffed in a corner in the hatch...Hey, everything else in the world is buried in there, so why not? :-P
tuesdaymorning 01-20-2006, 09:20 PM He was probably just sleeping/eating/etc. and sitting on the beach thinking about Shannon.
whoknowswhy99 01-21-2006, 07:00 AM At least he showed up in the hatch to talk to Charlie and Hurley. He looked clean. My problem...if he was taking a shower, why didn't they let us watch?? ;)

Good point. Who needs encounters with the Others when you could have Sayid in the shower...?
Until we saw him fully dressed, I had assumed he'd spent the day trying to get Shannon's blood out of his only shirt. :(
interested 02-20-2006, 11:31 AM I think he was keeping himself busy by building and improving shelters for other people, to try to ge this mind off the mourning. (We do see him building something in one of the episodes--some weird tepee looking thing.)

Wasn't I just reading you say something somewhere about being way more mature than...oh nevermind.
THLAYLIRAH 02-23-2006, 03:47 PM Here is a thory I have on what Sayid is doing:biggrin:

Robinhood56 02-23-2006, 10:50 PM He's been looking for a lime to put in the coconut.
He was unsuccessful which explains the look he gives Hurely for reminding him of his failure.
