What did you think?

View Full Version : Rate the Episode!!! Karri 01-20-2006, 08:05 PM What did you think? isitweds 01-25-2006, 10:25 PM I never thought Locke was truely wise. I have always had mixed feelings about him. I suspect he will end up going to the "other" side.... dunno.. Baileysdad 01-25-2006, 10:34 PM In order to not have duplicate posts..the site administrator has posted two sticky threads...one for people who liked it...and one for those who didn't/thought it was eh/think it stunk.. Please post in those threads help us keep the board tight.. Thank you.. http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=32987 http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=32991 Huskie 01-25-2006, 11:34 PM Good idea about going back to review them after the season. Do the poll choices change each week or have you been making them consistant? Maybe we can tally these up one day ;) What Baileysdad posted is true. We should really keep the episode opinions that need to be posted in the stickies. That way, your topic would ( should? ) survive any heated arguments :) Pull the curtain closed folks and vote. Care to voice your opinion on the episode? Karri provided two soapboxes for you to stand on. *closes curtain* "What should I pick, what should I pick?" Edit: *checks curtain* Hey. There's a great big hole in this one. This is a public poll! - LOL PosseGal 01-25-2006, 11:42 PM Thanks for reconsidering on closing the thread. I think it will be fun to go back at the end of the season and look at the whole spectrum of opinions on each episode, not just "loved it" / "hated it." And it's fun for us geeks to look at the numbers in the polls :) For what it's worth, I agree with DangerDork and I LOVE this poll. I like all the opinions on an episode, good or bad, housed in a single thread. Sometimes, other posts make me reconsider whether I thought an episode was good or bad (mostly because sometimes I miss things or misread things...hey, this is Lost right? You need the input of others, right? Can we maybe consider making the poll consistent and making it a sticky? Pretty Please!! Jenni Lou 01-26-2006, 12:25 AM It wasn't the best. Not the worst either. But funny thing...I was watching Veronica Mars...I had to tape it because it is on the same time as Lost and I think they were poking a little fun at its competition: a fortune cookiie makes an appearance in the episode and the Lost numbers are on it. How fun! I love it. Jezz1226 01-26-2006, 12:31 AM I voted Above Average by Lost Standards, I liked this episode and I honestly am not completely sure why. It didn't ask or answer a lot of questions, nor were there really any important revelations. However, I just have a feeling that eventually we are going to look back at this episode and realize that there was a lot more revealed in this episode then we realize now. I think in the grand scheme of things this episode will turn out to be important, I don't know why I think that but...I guess time will tell. addicted2much 01-26-2006, 06:43 AM I did like the flashbacks in this eppie, more than the Charliebacks in Homecoming but I was kinds meh about the episode. I still think Lost is amazing and a meh for Fire + Water is only rated against other episodes of Lost:smile: MichaelVartanishot 01-26-2006, 10:03 AM Last nights episode was very disappointing! I love Lost, but that was a weak episode. Also, Charlie deserves better than that from the rest of the castaways. Did not like Locke gpunching Charlie. The only redeeming thing about the show was Drive Shaft's diaper commerical. Hysterical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hoping next week is better - it looks to be. deicide 01-26-2006, 10:25 AM I actually thought last night's episode's was one of the best all season. and i really don't like charlie's character. the episode definetly advanced plotlines RamessesIX 01-26-2006, 10:36 AM I said "Definitely one of their best". My comments are in the "Loved It" thread. I vote for keeping this poll each week, dangerdork has done a great job with it. God's tom 01-26-2006, 11:52 AM This one disturbed me greatly. The absolute low was when Locke beat Charlie. I expected better than that from Him. I wont be in a hurry to watch this one again when the DVD comes out! entil2001 01-26-2006, 08:36 PM Another week, another solid and competent episode...just not a shot out of the park. I keep waiting for an episode on the order of "Walkabout" or "Outlaws", and it simply hasn't happened in a while. Some might think that this means I'm hating the recent episodes, but that's not really the truth. This was a very good episode with a lot going for it. But it's not quite what I've been waiting for. I'm still looking for more episodes along the lines of "The 23rd Psalm", and while this leans in that direction, it doesn't quite have the same depth, despite the successful creative elements. Here's my review for Lost 2.12: "Fire Plus Water": http://www.entil2001.com/series/lost/season2/lost2-12.html Overall, this episode is a solid example of character exploration, and it might even be foreshadowing for similar situations for other characters in episodes to come. While not much is revealed about Charlie’s past that couldn’t otherwise be inferred, there are enough differences to avoid a complete retread. This is very much a transitional episode, which is something that makes this kind of narrow focus easier to justify. torb28 01-26-2006, 10:59 PM After the excitement of last week this episode seemed slow and uneventful. What a way to leave us before a rerun. DrUrbino 01-26-2006, 11:29 PM I enjoyed it, I voted above average by LOST standards.:) ...much better then "Hearts and Minds" and "Special", which I did like, but do use as a base for when I vote in this poll :) PS: Dangerdork, thank you for doing this poll each new episode, I do try my best to participate every week and I really enjoy it. Psyweb 01-26-2006, 11:55 PM I thought it started off a little too slow. It did, however, pick up some momentum and made for a good episode. Average for Lost, but great for TV in general. I liked the hinting at a connection between Libby and Hurley. Tal 01-27-2006, 11:21 AM I went with neither bad nor anything special. Truth is, they spoiled me with continuity this season and this was the first filler ep. And as such, it was a solid one. But I think I'll wait to see where it goes to figure out how I feel about some of the new things that were introduced in it. ctband2002 01-27-2006, 11:23 AM This was the first time I've watched Lost and felt like I wouldn't have missed anything if I didn't watch. I'm interested to find out which episode the people that didn't vote this as worst episode think is the worst. Mr. Find 01-27-2006, 11:24 AM This is the first Lost episode survey I can recall that isn't dominated by above average or higher votes (I am not quite sure how the consensus for each episode ends up being above average or better, but the surveys do seem to always end up that way). The rose colored glasses have came off with this episode for a lot of people. I voted totally sub-par, a real letdown. The Island scenes were ok however nothing special. But what really dragged it down were the Charlie flashbacks. Been there, done that with him. This is the fourth Charlie episode, to date, and only the first one had flashbacks that were worthwhile. Maybe the creators should consider not doing flashbacks for every episode. With some of the characters, the tank appears to be already dry. -------- To the point of the existence of this very thread, while I like the two stickey threads (Like it and the Eh threads) I don't think they are a substitute for a thread that doesnt segregate the two poles of opinion. Nothing wrong with a little civilized debate. Tal 01-27-2006, 12:05 PM This was the first time I've watched Lost and felt like I wouldn't have missed anything if I didn't watch. It just had everything I don't like about the show and, while I was hoping for a long time that Evie's character and backstory could be portrayed in ways that were, uh, less over the top, this one just sealed it for me. And, in light of the one-dimensional take on her father, I didn't appreciate the parallel between him and Sawyer. ctband2002 01-27-2006, 02:10 PM What Kate Did. And, in light of the one-dimensional take on her father, I didn't appreciate the parallel between him and Sawyer. I agree that What Kate Did wasn't the best. But, I wouldn't think anyone thought it was the worst. I mean, even though I hated it and it was a HUGE letdown, at least we found out what Kate's original crime was. We didn't learn anything significant like that on Wednesday. I do agree that WKD was pretty bad, though. Maybe my second worst episode ever. So, I take it then, you (like me) feel like the season is heading in a downward sprial? nooai 07-18-2008, 05:26 PM I actually quite enjoyed the episode. A weird and hilarious episode! What is this about men in diapers? :lol Charlie is annoying this episode. He certainly didn't have to start the fire- that is going too much overboard. Why can't he just give Claire and Aaron some space? But I do feel a little pity for him though, nobody in camp likedes him anymore. They all think he's going bonkers and on drugs again. I don't really dig the Charlie, Claire and Locke love triangle though. Beginning to like Ana Lucia and Libby more now. As for the flashbacks, I like the Liam/Charlie storyline. |
