View Full Version : Just got issue 3.. =D
Dan23X 01-28-2006, 03:45 PM Well, just got issue 3 and i am almost done reading it. I dont want to post a full review yet cause i know a lot of people probebly have not read it yet. Just want to say that is was an AWESOME issue. I liked how you didn't reveal to much about whats comming up but you certainly are making me die to what is going to happen.
- The Shark article was very cool. I completely enjoyed it.
- Now i am really excited about season 2's finale, even though i have know idea what it is going to be about.
- There was a fan question about the Dharma sign on the tail of the plane in the Tabula Rasa episode. I didn't notice that AT ALL. I watched the episode and i believe it was the part he was running to get his dog back. If you look to the left you can kinda see it...if its it at all.
- I am also very interested on the wierd font on pages 4, 8, 15, etc. I think its a font somewhere on the web...i am looking for it so i can translate what it actually says..
More will be posted in a couple days..
Julie 01-28-2006, 03:55 PM i guess subscribers must get them earlier. i get mine from the bookstore. i'll check back with you then.:)

Tidalus 01-29-2006, 10:56 PM Pages 15 16 23, the font on the bottom. If thats the one your talking about, it Hebrew. Im trying to translate it but I havent kept up with my Hebrew in a while.. it is a prayer, I'm not sure which. Has me confused since so far all the biblical things in Lost are catholic new testament things. I have my person interest in this particularly so I will keep trying to translate it.
Dan23X 01-30-2006, 05:30 PM I wish i could help out now, but i managed to find this site if its any help Tidalus..

Yep, it's not a weird font at all, but Hebrew after all. It is the 23rd Psalm, as written in the Hebrew bible.
Yay, I feel so useful!
Dan23X 01-30-2006, 09:43 PM Ah cool! I should have figured that if it was a prayer it would be the 23rd psalm. Anyway... Thanks for helping us =D.
Cant wait for issue 4...it says it has so many misterys that were gonna mumble 4 8 15 16 23 42 all month!! =D =D =D
jennylee27 01-30-2006, 09:56 PM You're welcome. :)
Cluck 01-31-2006, 12:14 PM I just got mine yesterday and am already finished reading it. It wish it was longer. I was wondering why they didn't mention the Dharma logo on the shark?
Also something that made me go huh??? In the interview with Mary Jo Markey, she says that there were two cuts of the Shannon shooting at Locke scene. She said the final cut is the one that was aired and was the one where Shannon shoots but misses Locke and the cut that didn't make it was the cut where Shannon shoots and the bullet grazes Locke.
Well I could swear that Shannon DID graze Locke with bullet ?? Didn't she? I thought first it was just a typo, but if you read the interview, she goes on to explain why they didn't choose the Locke gets grazed by the bullet scene.
LockeHurleySawyer 02-01-2006, 06:25 AM I think she did graze him because I remember there being blood on the side of his head.
Julie 02-05-2006, 02:04 PM Re: issue 3
I like the Q and A with Damon Lindelof...BUT...would it be possible to stop throwing him questions we know he can't answer. If he's only going to answer 8 questions every two months it would be cool if the magazine selected ones that have a chance at a real answer, not questions like: "Is the monster related to the sickness..?" We would have gotten a more meaningful answer if we asked him what his favorite color is.
TheHade 02-05-2006, 05:23 PM I'm so happy because yesterday I received my copy! I haven't finished reading it, yet, but so far I love it. Keep up your great work, Ned & Co.!
I'll get back with a personal "review" as soon as I'm done reading.
Julie 02-07-2006, 07:56 PM I like the slightly gloomier color schemes and imagery. It fits the show. I love the Dr. Arzt interview---the pic of him with the dynamite is great.
James_Bond_007 02-10-2006, 06:07 PM yeah...5 out of 8 questions he was like oh I can't answer that...grrr...why even print the questions?
natfrog5 02-10-2006, 07:44 PM Yep, it's not a weird font at all, but Hebrew after all. It is the 23rd Psalm, as written in the Hebrew bible.
Yay, I feel so useful!
Aww thank goodness someone has figured it out!! Was really bugging me what it said and I had no idea what the symbols were so was a bit stuck!
Fantastic issue! Love all the cast interviews...esp Dom <3....and the behind the scenes articles.
May I request a Boone poster please? Gone but definitely not forgotten:frown:
Can't wait for the next issue. Intrigued by what all the hidden content might be etc. Two months is too long to wait!

nan4bsb 02-13-2006, 02:11 PM I saw the issue at Borders and was all p.o.'d because I hadn't gotten mine yet, and then I got it in the mail the next day. Sat in the car during my daughter's dance class and read the whole thing. I love that mag. I just wish I didn't have to pay $12 for the first issue. My membership started with issue 2. Darn it.
zoe652 03-08-2006, 04:02 AM Arggghhh. I still haven't gotten mine yet. I bought it on ebay and have been running to my mailbox the last couple of days, only to see that it still wasn't in there. Well,
hopefully I'll have more luck today.

irish lost fan 03-12-2006, 08:45 PM i got this magazine last week. Its pretty good. Got a poster of Shannon so im happy.
TheHade 03-16-2006, 04:52 PM I totally forgot to speak my mind about the current issue of "LOST : The Official Magazine" ... ;)
Better late than never because there are some issues about it that are really important to me and I'd like you to know them and maybe give me some feedback on them.
First of all, I loved this issue! It was once again filled to the brim with awesome features and had a beautiful layout.
My favorite features were once again the in-depth interviews and reports as well as the news summaries, "Quarantine & Analysis", etc.
At first I thought I could have done without yet another Dominic Monaghan-interview but upon reading it I realized how perfectly it tied into the then recent episode "Fire + Water"! Very well done! I strongly hope the next issues will be similar in that regard.
The interview with Mrs. Markey, the editor, e.g., stood out especially for me because I fondly remember the emotional way she talked about her work on the pilot episodes on the DVD bonus features.
But what about that concept art? WOW!!! I'm dying to see more of that!
I loved the report on the shark in "Adrift" but also missed the detail about the Dharma-symbol. So I strongly hope there will be a (preliminary) Dharma-article in an up-coming issue!
I still have my problems with the strange colors of the posters even though they fit in nicely with the layout. Personally I'd prefer them to look natural like the one of Charlie on page 40.
Also I got the impression that valuable space was taken by too many pictures. The one on page 44 was essentially the same as one of the posters, e.g. I didn't get the point of "Case Re-opened", either, and some of these pictures were pretty anyway ... :( "What Lies Beneath ..." was interesting but six pages were too long for it IMO considering that there also was the regular "Black Box"-section.
I vastly enjoyed the piece on Daniel Roebuck (I didn't know there was an Arzt-action figure, e.g.!) but it contained a grave (IMO) mistake: It supports the myth that Hurley said "Dude ... you've got some Arzt on you." in "Exodus, Part 2". This is just as wrong as "Beam me up, Scotty!" which was never said in "Star Trek"!
Maybe it's only the librarian in me but I'm convinced that quoting incorrectly is far worse than not quoting at all!
Hurley said "Dude ...!" right after the death of Arzt. Later, when Jack asks him if he wanted to carry some dynamite, too, he replies: "You got some ... Arnzt on you." It even says so in the subtitles (I can't post a picture to prove it because the subtitles are gone on my screen captures.).
So personally I hope there never will be a T-Shirt like the one proposed in the opening paragraph of this article because it includes two mistakes (Hurley didn't say "Dude" at all in this sentence; and he said "Arnzt" again instead of "Arzt".) and such a T-Shirt would lend even more credibility to this myth.
But if there ever is to be such a T-Shirt (because the quote IS awesome!) I hope that there wouldn't be any quotation marks just like on the exclusive Fan Club-T-Shirt that has "The island is testing us." (without the quotation marks  ) on it which was never said on the show, either, but which still fits the bill perfectly.
So issue 4 is right around the corner and I can't wait to reading it while listening to the soundtrack that will finally be released next week!
cargogal 04-08-2006, 01:27 PM Okay please, for those of us who are not familiar with the Hebrew bible, can someone quote the 23d psalm.
