I just invented a great Office Practical joke all you cubicle dwellers can pull on your workmates! But not just Office people, this joke will work on any one with a computer!

Here is a list of things you will need:

A victim
access to the victim's computer without the victim's knowledge
Paint programHere's what you do:

When victim is not around, open a window on his computer.
possition the window so it does not cover any icons
right click the task bar and select properties
set the task bar to 'Auto-hide'.
allow the task bar to hide
make sure your mouse pointer is off the screen ( all the way to the side) then press the print screen button on the keyboard
open paint
press Ctrl+V
save this image in My Pictures
close paint
close the window you opened
right-click the desktop
select properties
select the desktop tab and then click browse
choose the image you just saved in My PicturesCongratulations! You have just royaly screwed your victim!

The poor shmuck will return to his computer and try to close that window to no avail! Things will just get worse if he tries to move his icons and shortcuts!

Mwahaha!

Hours of saddistic pleasure await you!!

That's awesome. We've been looking for a good prank to play on my boss. We were going to saran wrap his cube and fill it with styrofoam peanuts. I think this would be much more fun.

Heh, that one's great. Another variation on that is to screencap the desktop icons, set them as wallpaper and then use the "hide icons" option. It's great watching people try to start applications that way.

Other interesting pranks to try in the office:

- Swap all the red/black/blue pen centres - this only works with those where you can't see the colour of the ink.
- Carefully place those flimsy little packets of sauce under the four corners of a keyboard - they go to type, and splat.
- Simply disconnect the keyboard. You'll be surprised how many people go through re-starts and problem solving without checking the simplest things first.
- Put a strip of tape across the bottom of their mouse (if it's optical)
- Remove the stops from the runners of their keyboard tray - the victim winds up with a keyboard in their lap.

... Yeah, it's no mystery as to why I don't work in an office anymore.
