Does anyone else think that there was nothing at all on the computer screen? I really think Michael's gone a little (okay, more than a little - see "knocking Locke out and trapping him and Jack in the closet") crazy. I think he was imagining his conversation with Walt because he just can't handle what's happened. When Jack looked, wasn't the screen completely blank? I don't think that just "happened."

What do you think?

ya i don't think anything was there either, but he was given the vision by the others, like the way Locke was led to the plane, visions of his mother...all to lead somewhere

I think walts weird "powers" were actually talking to Michael and Michael really thought he saw it on the screen...
but what do i know !?!

I personally think that there was something there on the computer screen. However of course I agree that it wasnt Walt. You alll know that I think it was the others pretending to be Walt in order to somehow lead Michael into some sort of trap. What I dont understand is howcome Michael was so dumb adn actually fell for the trap, I mean you could tell from a mile off that it wasnt Walt on the screen.

I think he sees what he wants to see. Being a father, if he thinks Walt could be talking to him, then of course he'd believe it. It's easier than believing he isn't.

As for the others, I don't think they're involved with it. I think it's all in Michael's head, which in my opinion would be far more interesting, eh?

well...kate and sawyer saw a horse, jack saw his father, sayid heard whispers, then there's the whole charlie thing. so it wouldnt be too much of a stretch for michael to see words on a computer screen.

I think there was something on the screen. However, I don't think it was Walt. And I think it disappeared after a period of inactivity - when Michael was talking to Jack - hence why you don't see it when Jack's looking.

Whatever happened it was a trap that Michael fell into. The Others either set it or knew about it being set, because Zeke told Jack and the rest of the hunting party that Michael wouldn't find them (The Others). Maybe we'll find out something about it next week. From the previews, it looks as if they're going to let the clock run out without pressing the button. Although, you never know with these things.

I think the others were playing mind games, or his head was... I don't think he's nuts, just missinga kid. That is enough to make you go nuts though./

Yeah, I think if seeing something weird is the basis for the argument, you would have to say a lot of people on the island have snapped.

Hmm to say he's snapped might be a bit harsh. Let's say hes very "tunnel minded" at the moment. It's not the first time he's ran off into the jungle, head first. All he can think about is getting Walt back, even if his method is slightly flawed (blindly going into dangerous territory alone, with one gun, and couple of shooting lessons). As JMoffa says, mabye he sees it, as it's what his mind wants him to see, and sometimes your head can play tricks on you, making you hear or see things which you want to be there, even if they arn't.

On the other hand, if the writing is actually there, and he's not seeing things, then trying to get him back with no help, doesn't really scream "I'm sane" does it...

Maybe he thought it was his responsibilty to get him back on his own and he didn't want to feel responsible if something happened to anyone else on the way.

I don't think he's crazy because Walt is capable of doing a lot of things. He was trying to contact Shannon too...

He is streesed out. His son is missing. Basically, I would flip too if my own creatiion (son) was kidnapped.

I agree, completly.

If my pet went missing i'd go nuts. His son, is missing the one he just got back and started to realize how lucky he was to have back in his life, the he gets snatched away. Poor michael :(

I think he has snapped (going in to the jungle with a rifle, running after a kidnapped son isn't exactly sane) but I think that the words were there and someone (perhaps Walt) did the typing. We don't really know if Walt is on the side of the good guys anymore. He might be an Others (same applies to Cindy, Zack, Emma & other tailies). I believe that the Others brainwash their victims or sumptin.

Yea, I mean who says Others are born others, couldn't regular people turn into others? BY getting captured being there long enough they become one of The Others.
