This is my weird theory that i've managed to come up with. Its probably not true just a thought




Something bad could of happened Hurley, which resulted in him going into mental hospital, libby being a psych, cured him. Hurley doesn't really remember his time in the hospital, libby helped repress that bad thing that happened Hurley.

Hurley then see's libby and something clicks, he recognises her but cant place her.
Libby knowing bout Hurley doesn't want to reveal what happened , cause if it does it could bring back that bad thing that happened hurley, so she makes up a lie.

Libby is an other. She and others brain washed Hurley. He remembers her for some reason.
Probally crazy, just came to mind for a second.

Psychologists generally don't try to help their patients repress things. They try to get them to recognize their problems and deal with them. That is, not counting the ones who dole out drugs like candy...

Another problem with the theory; If she was a psychologist she would say "weren't you one of my patients?" and if he spent that much time with her, he would have remembered. She is obviously one of the others. she made up the part of him steping on her to try to claim that she was there. and remember, the tail end didn't have a manafest, they have no way of knowing who was from the flight.

I really don't think she's an other.

I think that Libby may be a compulsive liar or has had some other type of mental problem and was a patient in the same mental hospital as Hurley. Libby being in some sort of therapy has given her the tools to lie about being a psychologist.

Now, if Libby is somehow involved with Dharma or the island... then we have another story. That possibility seems like a long shot though.
