He knows that Sayid is still in grief. We wanted to help take him mind off of that but understood why Sayid lashed out. I’m sure he left the radio behind knowing that once alone Sayid would focus on it.

I was hoping that the radio would at least get Sayid to mention Shannon....that the last time they heard a transmission, Shannon was there to translate it..anything!! HELLO!! Sayid doesn't even seem to remember she ever existed.

I didn’t expect Sayid to mention Shannon (I’m sure he was thinking of her but it was probably to painful to mention). I was waiting for LOCKE to mention Shannon during either of his speeches about everyone being harmed. Especially when he talked about what happened last time. I guess I’m still waiting for the so called “messy conflict” to occur.

Do you think Hurley's "con" was spiritually motivated (cheer him up, get him to talk about his loss)?

I really really think that there is more going on here. Hurley's got something other than an arm and a joke up his sleeve.

This is the way I thought about the word "con" during the hour episode of the "long con": Sawyer said that a con is getting someone to do something and making them think that it was their own idea.

That is what I thought about Hurley, the radio and Sayid.
