JASON: You and your details, Maggie.
When he was suppose to smack her.
What happened to this detailed minded person? That she would have neglected to remove the key from 'the marshal' when he was being treated
Also wouldnt the ids/effects if they were on the dead been removed before burial.
Daliden 01-18-2005, 10:49 AM Well, she sort of got distracted by the marshal trying to strangle her and all. Later he was awake so she didn't get the chance of doing it quietly.
Trueogre 01-18-2005, 12:28 PM Kate had no need for the key then because she thought the case was lost. For all she knew the case had landed in the sea.
goloptious 01-18-2005, 09:59 PM The key was probably far from her mind at that point.
Guinevere 03-20-2005, 12:55 AM My question is, if the case was checked into baggage as she claimed, WHY was it just sitting under someone else's seat?? If this has been discussed, I couldn't find it by perusing the subject titles or using a search.
KalykoKatt 03-20-2005, 01:21 AM Since the plane was torn apart as it crash landed and stuff was flying everywhere, it's fairly reasonable that the case fell separately and then the people in the seats fell on top of them.

In the Long Con , Sawyer told Kate that it was all in the details and the details of Sun's abduction were off.
He also told Cassidy "it's all in the details"

That is possible....but remember Kate couldn't get it out, Sawyer really had to yank it...it was wedged under the seat, as if it had been shoved under pre-crash..
Also...as seen in this ep..there was alot of luggage with the losties on their beach
and one piece just happened to end up in a lake with two passengers?
But then again, mayhaps I am overanalyzing...
coupons 03-09-2006, 12:26 PM Rewatching WTCMB It reminded me how 'clever' and yes deceitful Kate was. She fixed the passport and conspired with Sun to get a seat on the raft but what has she done lately. Is she loosing her edge? Sawyer points out about the hood and she like duh. The old Kate would have nailed those clues herself.
Has she lost her old skills or come to know Sawyer well enough to know asking for the gun (to help out mother and child quest) was the easiest way
She finds the makeup in one locker and leave two others unchecked not very detail oriented

I don't think you are overanalyzing at all. With Lost, it really is "all in the details." Why would they show the case under this seat if it didn't mean something? They could have just had the case by itself in the water. I guess maybe they were going for the gruesome factor- but still- they could have had the dead bodies and the case in the water without putting the case under the seat. Maybe that is why they showed this episode. Maybe the dead people are part of an upcoming episode?

Oh, nice catch! I hadn't thought about that. Nice to see that Sawyer and Kate are both detail-oriented.
Fiver 03-10-2006, 03:44 AM I agree on the case being wedged under the seat - surely that means something. I wondered if the bodies could somehow be Kate and the Marshall in some parallel universe or something, but then the case was supposed to be under the plane. Guess it showed up like Charlie's guitar.
It also occured to me that Kate ran a "long con" on the guy who did the bank job with her just like Sawyer ran a long con on Cassidy.
pcdrdenton 03-10-2006, 12:10 PM I think that the case was wedged under the seat because it flew from the luggage rack, hit the Marshall and then wedged under a seat or two behind them.
CitrusGrin 03-10-2006, 12:14 PM I forgot about the case hitting the marshal....
I guess the question would be why Kate said that the airline would not let the marshal
take the case on board, that it had to be checked with the luggage.
And it wasn't....

Well, Sawyer took the guy's wallet so we may find out who he was. The woman seemed to have very long blonde hair.
Yep, she romanced Jason to get him to rob the bank.:kiss1:

It was a different case that hit the marshal .
eringobragh 03-10-2006, 12:18 PM I would hope that Kate and Sawyer's discovery of the dead people in the lake isn't the only trip we make to that area this season. Why hasn't anyone been back to the site, if not to search the rest of the lake for more bodies/useful supplies, then to relax and take a dip?! And how could those two dead bodies be accounted for on the plane's manifest if Kate or Sawyer were the only two who know about them? It seems like a very loose end that needs to be tied up.
addicted2much 03-10-2006, 12:26 PM They may have scouted around looking for other supplies off camera.
I don't think many people would enjoy taking a dip with dead bodies in the water. I think it would be a health hazard.
I think they used the manifest to see who was left alive.
