I have a 4th gen 20g iPod and love it dearly, but it WONT TURN OFFF! I have had this problem before and tried all the usual button jiggling and switch turning stuff, but nothing is working! Can you please help me! I don't want it to die. I cannot survive without it!! :unhappy: :rip:

Make sure it's not on hold. You can tell if it's on hold if there's a little lock symbol on your display. Try jiggling the hold button, which is the sliding thing at the top, near the headphone jack.

How long have you had the iPod?

I just tried all that stuff again and nothing happened. I've had it for nearly 6 months and it has done this once before. It wont reset and the battery has been slowly dying for a couple hours now! Last time it did this, i just plugged it in overnight and the problem resolved itself. Should i do this again?

Hi. I have the 30G and have had no problems so far. You could go to www.apple.com/ipod (http://www.apple.com/ipod) and email the service rep. Hope every thing turns out ok!

Sometimes letting the battery run out and having it reset itself can help, so if plugging it in overnight doesn't work, try letting it die so that it can reset.

Do you have a warranty or replacement plan? Because then you can just send it in for a new one if nothing works.

how do you delete things off your ipod

The way I've been doing it is through iTunes. Plug your iPod into your computer and bring it up in iTunes by double clicking on the iPod in your list of music folders (usually by where your library and playlists are). Then you just click on the songs you want to delete off it and hit the delete button on your keyboard, or go to File > Clear (it's either File > Clear or Edit > Clear, I can't remember off the top of my head).

Just reset it while its pluffed in, or failing then ask for a new one, easy enough.

Thank you guys so much for your support on this iPod issue. I finally chose to let it die, like one of you suggested, and now it's working. Thanks for everything! I was really missing having it with me!
