Okay, no one else has started this thread, so I will do it.
Loved "special." Really* enjoyed Michael's and Walt's story. Very heart-felt.
Boone is creeping me out.
Still don't know what to think of Locke.
That Sawyer!
Why was Sun speaking English to Michael so freely? Wouldn't they be overheard? Or seen? By Jin?
Hurley is always insightful.
Poor Charlie. Loved him waffling over reading the diary, then giving in. (Hey, we all know that we would too.)
Then, to have Claire show up at the end!* Like I posted in another thread, I think I would have fallen off of the couch if I hadn't already been sitting in the floor!
What about Walt's "gift" and that comic book?

Anyone else's thoughts/favorite moments?

The ABC promo writers led me to believe that we'd be getting a heck of a lot more information than we did - man I hate those people!* I would have enjoyed this episode more if I didn't have such high expectations.* But that aside, I was glad to finally get a Walt and Michael backstory, I'm glad Claire is back, and I loved the diary scene.

Terrylost --

Definitely agree with you on the creepy Boone -- he's turning into a Locke Zombie

And as far as suprising, the appearence of Claire is most notable for not showing her stomach -- I think someone's given birth while away on the island tour

I went spoiler-free for this episode. I think that may have made the difference for me. (Does this mean I have to give up spoilers? Aaaww)

TerryLost, I was spoiler-free too, except for the unavoidable promos on ABC, which went something like "don't blink!* don't look away for a second!* You will learn more than you ever believed possible!"* And on in that vein.* So I thought we might finally learn some big secrets and we didn't.* (I don't blame the show, I blame those $#$% people who write the promos.)

I did enjoy it, but I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't thinking throughout the entire thing, "where's the gigantic reveal?"

I think I'm going to start muting promos from here on.... lol.

I watch very little tv (too busy reading/posting on the 'lage! :lol2:) so I didn't see a single promo.

Are you sure?

Claire was onscreen with that deranged look on her face for all of about two seconds. If she's not pregnant, that in and of itself is revealing an awful lot. Given that, she was taken, gave birth, and sent on her way without a child. So we find out that the Baby is wanted for people on the island. We also find out that the Polar Bear is summoned by Walt, and that the islanders now have a map -- not to scale -- to the Black Rock.

I'd actually say they revealed a good deal, actually, even if Claire is still pregnant.

They revealed a lot, but not as much as my* ABC-promo-fueled feverish imagination thought they would.* Believe me I feel stupid for falling for ABC's cheap tricks, and I think it's kind of insulting to the show that they even use them in the first place - Lost is good enough that it doesn't need the fake hype.*

I'm not saying it wasn't a great episode, though.*
