When the scene opened with Jack in the shower (with Locke right there,) the front of the shower stall (upper right quadrant, as I recall) had some marks on it... and they looked like the telltale "three slashes" we have seen on a number of islanders from time to time... also looked like they might have been colored similar to blood. Anybody else see this?

Yeah, I saw them too. They looked like the could have been bloodstained fingerprints to me, which would suggest some sort of previous violence in the hatch.

Ugh, creepy. I didn't notice that... glad I didn't! I was too distracted by Jack standing there for about five millions years naked in front of Locke. Ummm....

I watched that scene 9 times...but I was distracted by the wet nakedness.

Could very well be blood. Or dirt from dirty hands. What about when they put Sawyer in the shower? Sawyer had blood on him.

Looks like bloody fingerprints to me. Kind of like the bloody hand print Eko left on the beechcraft plane. Wonder what happened there?

It's hard to tell from the screencap, what part of the shower the prints are on...is it the glass or the wall? Looks like bloody or dirty fingerprints to me.

Maybe Kate got her period while in the shower and left those prints to assert her womanhood in an environment dominated by men.

Danielle had 3 slashes on her arm, but to me they look like dirty or greasy fingerprints that are noticable because of the steam on the walls, unless someone was in there before lock came in and they were talking to Jack while he was in the shower.

It's probably Matt's wet hand print from the shot they did just before the one that was aired. Can't catch all of the inconsistencies when filming.

What I find rather more disconcerting about this scene than the marks is the fact that Locke blatantly sneaks a peek at Jack's Johnson.

I think its safe to say its just dirty finger prints from dirty castaways. Im sure if you lived on an island for like 50 days youd be damn dirty too. Just watch survivor. Remember that dolphin trainer from a couple seasons back? He was one dirty Mother.

If they didnt WANT them in there intentionally...I think they would have reshot the scene. So...they may mean something. Or maybe not. This IS lost afterall.

I really think it's nothing more than what can happen when you're in a steamy shower that has glass door/walls.

I noticed them right away and was going to say something and totally forgot. 4 streaks. We have seen the same pattern on Ethan's face, Danielle's arm, Eko's marks on the plane.
