If you do come on the site, I just want to say hi and that I am very happy you are in a television shows that rocks. I think you are a great actor and was a big fan of yours on Party of Five. The scene in Lost where you are talking to the lady at the counter in the airport about needing to get Jacks father on the plane was amazing. Many people I have talked with about the scene say they could feel the emotion as if it were real. I felt the emotion as well and just want to applaud you for doing a great job on this show. You have an incredibly strong following out there. I love the combination of strength and vulnerability that comes through in Jack. He's heroic, handsome, intelligent, idealistic-- a natural leader, and yet utterly human and flawed. That's what makes him so interesting. What does he fear? Love? Want?

Having been in a similar situation, the scene where Jack identifies his father at the morgue was hauntingly realistic.

I'm a big Jack (and Jack/Kate) supporter ;) I just love the character and how you've brought him to life.Personally I find him a refreshing deviation from the aggressive male characters we often see on television, having to always assert their testosterone. Jack shows you can be as much of a man and leader with patience and selflessness as you can with anger and power. He's brave, very intelligent and caring, and he's always looking out for everyone's best interests..ITA, he has this wonderful paradox of strength and vulnerability.

You've brought such a warmth and comforting presence to the roll...A completely believable action hero one minute, and a sensitive doctor the next. I'm impressed with your portrayl of sadness and conflicting emotions. When Jack cries you need tissues-LOL!* :'(

It's just icing on the cake that you're such a sweet and smart person offscreen as well.

I'm so glad they kept Jack because the show wouldn't be the same w/o him or you! As long as you're Lost so am I ;)

So glad this thread was posted for you. I enjoy Lost so much and have the biggest crush on your character. Its difficult for me to imagine the show without Jack; I'm so happy the writers decided to keep Jack (read somewhere he was only suppose to be in the premiere episode). You do a wonderful job, I feel every emotion Jack goes through and hope you know how much your dedication and work are appreciated. I'm also an enthusiastic cheerleader for the Jack/Kate relationship. I don't know how you two do it, but you manage to have such great chemistry that comes right through to us. I now that's not always the case for TV couples and that the type of chemistry between these two great characters is actually very rare. Do you and Evangeline discuss and rehearse your solo scenes in depth, or do you try not to mess with the magic that happens in front of the cameras and simply go into the scene without having discussed it too much before hand?

Anyway, I just wanted you to know what a great job your doing. I'll be watching every Wednesday.

Just to add my two cents:

I'd like to mention the scene in "White Rabbit" where Jack identifies his father's body. That was an amazingly acted scene, it really was. I think several performances on this show so far should be nominated for emmys (Terry O'Quinn in "Walkabout" Dominic Monaghan in "The Moth" Josh Holloway in "Confidence Man") and your performance in that scene is definately on that list. Fantastic t'was.

Jack is an awesome character, you put such depth and feeling into him that can really be seen and as a viewer it gives us something to connect with. I think You've done an excellent job, and definantly look forward to seeing more.

To Matthew, one of the few actors who is good at their craft and an all around good person. If only you knew how respected and well loved you are by your fans. To a man that doesn't need it, but the best of luck to you in your future endeavors :laugh: BTW, that by no means suggests that I want to see you gone from Lost ;D You are the heart and soul of that show and your fans know this :)

You've completely changed my life with your character of Jack, on Lost. You're acting skills blow my mind and my new favorite hobby is sitting down each and every week to watch that Jack will do next. I'm a huge fan of yours, not only on Lost, but also your previous televsion shows (Haunted, Party of Five). Your scenes are amazingly well acted and you show such great emotion. Although I never watched Party Of Five, I may give it a shot after seeing you on Lost. Your character is perhaps the most realistic person i've ever seen. Definatley the best character on tv. I am overly impressed with your characters development and he is one of the best parts of Lost.

Keep acting man! I'd watch your characters in anything. BTW you'd win every award I could think up for acting.

Long Live Jack! If I was a crash survivor i'd want him as my leader.
