Excluding all of the aforementioned names, who would you choose to kill off and why?

To try and keep down the debate and the chit-chat in this topic, please try to limit your responses to any other persons post, just try to state who you would kill off and why.

I would kill of Charlie only because the only thing he has contributed too is the saving of Jack in the cave even though Charlie was the one who put Jack in this situation. Some might say well what about Claire, she is not contributing, well I have a problem with killing off the baby, so maybe I will change to Claire after the baby is born.

I would have to go with Jack; specifically in the S1 finale. I've been curious to know what this show would have been like if they did what they had planned to do and killed him off in the pilot, and would love to see that storyline play out sometime in the future.

Wow that's hard... I would go too with Jack because he's too "Saint-Jack". I'd be curious to see what would happen without the "leader". Except that I don't want him or anybody to die. ???

Jack. he's useful, and I like him and Kate together, but he's just... not the best character to relate to.

Charlie's not going anywhere. Dom's fanbase would have JJ by the short and curlies.

They can't kill off any of the women because that would turn it into Queer as Folk: Island Edition.

My money is on Sawyer dying tragically in some heroic, selfless act that finally redeems him.

Jack. No real reason. :)

`So let's see we have Sayeed, Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Sun, and Locke to choose from. Hum.

Jack dying would be a great shocker and it would force greater development of other characters as someone would have to assume the leader role. Living on an island without the handy surgeon would be tough though.

Then again we have Sun the herbalist.

Kate is mainly the love interest and hasn't done much aside from run off into the jungle to help out with stuff. She could go but then who would become the new love interest?

Sawyer is really good at stealing other people's stuff, being a bastard, and playing deputy once in a while but he is tough enough to be aleader although one no one would like. He could go out in a blaze of glory which soomeone already mentioned. Would be a little predictable though but cool.

Locke is too Randall Flagg to get rid off, too many things they can do with him storywise. Shaman, tempter, food gatherer, spiritual leader? Keep him, for sure. Killing him would do nothing more than shock people and it would hurt the story.

Sun should stay because she is a very interesting character, has the whole herbal thing going on, and seems to dig Michael (Harold P) who I know personally so there's my bias. heh.

Sayeed is a great character with lots of depth and plenty ofroom for development, plus he's the tech guy and they really need one if they are ever to reach someone at a long distance. He's strong enough to be a leader.

So I have it down to Kate or Sawyer.

Someone made a Queer as Folk joke which was great so in keeping with that, let's off Sawyer in some cool, significant way. Booyah.

I agree with terran, Sawyer sacrifiying himself would be a believable death...
And also it's true, they can't kill Charlie, I think that someone asked this question to... was it JJ Abrams? well I can't remember but he answers: as long as Dom comes out of his trailer, he's in the show! or sth like that ;)

And I also agree with you Varda (or shall I call you Figwit?), I don't relate to jack too... in spite of his daddy issues, he's too perfect

I definitely think it's going to come down to Jack or Sawyer; because if one dies, there's always the other one to keep the casual viewers who happen to be women on (plus Boone...) and they seem to be antagonizing forces of each other. Eliminate one, and you toss up the entire dynamic of the show, something JJ has been fond of doing on Alias.

Matt Fox is awesome, but I think Jack should be offed. If Jack does die the other "islanders," especially Kate, would be in shock. They wouldn't know what to do. These people need to learn to do things for themselves.

Haha... FIGWIT is the best actor ever!

Locke.

Because it would throw everybody for a loop.

*This is why I don't write TV shows* :lol2:

Well...my answer has already been taken, but I'll say it anyways. I think Sawyer would be the best choice, in the process of committing a selfless act (I'm thinking maybe sacrificing himself to save Jack, since he told Jack this week that he would 'watch him die').

Any member may choose any of the remaining characters except the aforementioned. Does not matter if some other member has chosen the character already.

I changed my mind. Locke is too resourceful/mysterious to go.

I think I'd kill off Kate. Sorry guys, but she's really starting to annoy me. :P

I'm going with Kate, as well. It would be dramatically interesting, because 2-3 men are in love with her, which would throw them for an emotional loop, but then if they found out horrible things about her after her death (like what she did) then they could have some great unresolved issues.

Some woman who is an extra could step up and be the next love interest for everyone.

it's sad, but I think I'd have to kill Hurley because he seems like a liability to me. He has tried to be helpful, but seems to get in the way, and although I love his friendly upbeat influence, he doesn't seem to have any other interest in getting off the island or being truly helpful.

If it had to be one of them make it Sun. Then Jin would have nobody to translate for him and he without her he would become a much more dangerous character. Not that I want to kill off Sun. She's got so much potential for growth but if it had to be somebody...

No, not Sun! I love her character, and I think she's an amazing actress. If I had to pick somebody, it would be Kate, not because of her character, but because her 'acting' is really getting annoying. I think the other actors on the show are doing a great job.

I really do love the entire cast , but to answere the question..
I'd have to go with Kate. At times the character just annoys me.

Sayid; he does nothing for me.

I'd kill off Kate. Because I'm curious to see where the guys flirtiness and affections would go to. It'd be weird to see Jack/Sawyer/Sayid flirt with Claire or Shannon! :o

I really don't think it would be a good idea to kill off kate (even though she's far from my fav. character). There are too many interesting storylines involving Kate that would be wasted if she were killed. And while I think that Sawyer dying to save someone else would make a very good storyline, I think the island would be too boring without him. We need his tortured soul to create conflict. That being said, my pick would be either Sayid or Jack. Neither character really does anything for me, but if i had to pick one it would be Jack, just because of the point someone else brought up earlier: Sayid might be handy in building something to help people get off the island. Sure Jack is a doctor and that would come in handy too, but that could create interesting stories in itself if those remaining on the island had to survive without the doc.

I'd get rid of Boone; he's pretty useless anyway and probably will just try to get himself drowned again.
