Before you know it the season finale will roll around and then we will be without Lost for three and half months or more. What not a better time then to catch up on movies or old TV series that have influenced the story of Lost, or share with our beloved show some common themes.
The question: What videos that have Lost-relevance would you be recommend to other Lost fans?

Twin Peaks is a good show to watch because Lost is influenced by this series.

My short list:
Total Recall - Dave told Hurley the incredible things he believed happened to him (like winning the lottery) didn't really, much like the wife of the Arnold Schartzenegger character tried to do. That and some other things in the movie make me think this it is worth watching -- again.
The Poseidon Adventure - I like the parallels between some of the characters of this 1972 disaster-film classic and some of the Lost characters.
Second Chance - A TV movie I remember from my childhood about an isolated small town for losers who need a second chance in life. It was only released on VHS tape and is long out of print so it is real hard to find -- trust me on that (I am still hunting for it.)

mr_find, isnt the Poseidon remake out at the cinema this summer?
ones you shouldve watched last summer break: all of M Night Shalalalalalalalalamans films, Jurassic Park (1993), The Lost World (1997), Watership Down (1978 or the 1999 TV series if you can find it), Apocalypse Now, Lord of the Flies (tho you should really read the book)
and i'll add Donnie Darko, Abre Los Ojos (1997 - although watch the remake Vanilla Sky if you really have to)), X-Men (1992 animated series, the episodes where Prof. X goes for a walk through the 'Lost World'), Forbidden Planet (1956)

Yeah, I see there is a Poseidon remake coming out. I wont be suprised if the special effects are better, but doubt they will come close to the great cast in the original.

Two anime series:
Cowboy Bebop. The show's story is developed a lot like Lost-- there are three main characters, and a majority of the episodes center around one of them and their pasts.
It's multi-dimensional and can be enjoyed on a bunch of different levels-- again, like Lost-- and there's great imagery and, I don't know, just a ton of great great stuff. Funny too. It's super funny at times.
It's mostly a sci-fi-action/adventure-type series, but there's a lot of attention payed to character developement.
And did I mention it's great? :)
Also, check out Neon Genesis Envangelion.
Evangelion is what I'd call a dramtic series based in a sci-fi setting. It's super heavy. Kind of a bummer, really. But without the tiniest hint of melodrama.
There's some action in there too-- I mean, it does have giant robots-- but mainly the focus mainly is, again, on character development.
And there's a ton of biblical imagery and references to mull over. And the ending is one big WTF.
Evangelion is typically considered the greatest anime series of all time. And Bebop is definitely up there in the top five. Definitely worth a look, even if you've not really into anime.
I mean, I'm not really that into anime, either. I just like good storytelling. And neither of these disappoint.
