I wish there was someplace I could post this where it would get more attention.

Anyway, it occurred to me during the recap tonight that we'll probably never get to see Sun's baby be born. The reason I say this is because, even if you figure she's at least a month along, every season encompases about one month... give or take. That means it'd be eight more seasons (give or take) before she was full term.

The producers of the show have made no secret of the fact that they have no intention of the show going on that long anyway.

So... unless they skip ahead in time a whole lot, or eventually stray from the current "one season = roughly one month" formula, we'll never know.

Any thoughts on this?

Well if the island can speed up healing, cure terminal illness...perhaps it can speed up the pregancy. Or maybe the Others will take her and return her depregant.

Hmmm... that's an interesting theory, definitely. I was just remarking elsewhere that Claire's baby should only be about three weeks old, yet the baby playing him appears to be four or five months old. This is probably just due to the fact that it's difficult to have very young infants on the set, so they tend to use older babies. But, they don't seem to be trying to hide the fact that the baby is so big when he shouldn't be. It made me wonder if we're supposed to notice Aaron is growing fast, and if that will come up anytime soon. Or, again, maybe it's just a child acting issue. :)

And what are they feeding the kid. I didnt see any dharma formula around and ummm no breat feeding either.

Well we know what to expect in series 9.. sun having her baby... haha.

I wouldn't be surprised if they change or adjust time at some point. Sort of like that 'Alias' finale when Sydney woke up and it was 2 years later! I just hope that if they do adjust time like that they make some people injured or dead or something. I think it'd be kind of tough to do because of how much things change and how quickly they change.

Perhaps we'll just never see the baby be born. I mean, alot of people have been complaining about the pregnancy because they think it will just mimic Claire's storyline so perhaps she'll just be pregnant for however long the show goes. Or at least until they can logically have her give birth.

I think that we'll be able to figure out how they are going to do it when we start to see a baby bump.

We might not see the baby any time soon, but Sun is still valuable as a plot device (with the Other's obsession with children and babies). Rest assured, the writers will be, Pardon the pun, milking that story thread pretty soon.

I'm really hoping for a time fast-forward. Somehow they have got to speed up her pregnancy. And I like that point about Aaron, maybe it is an actor thing about having little infants but maybe the kids grow up fast. Somehow. I've said this somewhere before, that I feel Walt might come back as an older teen. So Walt and Aaron rushed through the growing process and Sun's baby should too. But this is highly highly unlikely. Whatever will happen will be awesome.

I think we will see the baby. they don't need to skip that much time on the island. After season three, Sun could be anywhere from 3-6 months pregnant (depending on when she became pregnant) So season 4 could be stretched over a few months and she would be giving birth, or season 4 could skip forward in time by a month or two.

Also I have read somewhere that:

Season 3 will focus on some newer characters.

So therefore we might see a jump forward between seasons 3 and 2.This way Sun can have a child and Walts growth is explained.We will see new characters within the losties group.The flashbacks will focus on how a particular character got to be part of the group or focus on their pre island flashbacks as normal.
