View Full Version : Old question: Did Michael talk to Walt on the Computer?

The recap episode made me wonder if the Lage community had come to any thoughts on the scene of Michael at the Computer and talking to Walt.

My friend has a theory, and I believe it is well founded, that Michael was in fact imagining the whole thing. That there was in fact nothing on the screne and Michael only saw what he wanted to see. Considering the fact that we have seen stories told in the perspective of the individual focused on at that time, I think this could be the case. Just like we saw Dave, dispite his lack of "realness" (which is a debate.) It was only when we saw the scene from Libby's perspective that Dave was not there.

Remember that when Jack asked him what he was doing and looked at the screne, nothing was on the Computer. Could that entire conversation that caused Michael to flip out and go out on his own never have happened? Just curious on people thoughts or if there is a thread discussing this.

Best wishes, and as Desmond would say.
Lift it up Brutha!

I was always surprised that when Michael saw someone writing to him, he didn't type something to the effect of "HELP! We've been in a plane crash!" No, he just typed "This is Michael, who's this?" (Sorry, if I don't have the quotes exactly right.) But, even if it was real, it could have been Walt, or it could have been one of the Others. They do know all the Losties' names and know Michael is Walt's dad.

I think that in showing us Walt and Michael in this recap we should find out some info in the next 4 shows...

He could just be imagining it, but I have a feeling the Others were trying to lure Micheal in to run off into the jungle.

Hey after watching Reckoning last night I got to thinking did Mike have the Torch and The gun with him or just the torch, if he didnt have the gun then he could have met up with the others and they took the gun

They way they showed it on the recap made it seem like Michael wanted the guns and flipped out right after. This makes me think that maybe he spoke on the computer longer than we saw.

Either Walt is special.. and can thus somehow comunicate, or Michael imagined the whole thing, or the 'others' took Walt so they could get to Michael and thus...get him to betray the losties to get Walt back, but if that's the case than, how did they know he'd be at the computer at that exact moment to start communicating with him?

That leads to the speculation that the Others showed that to Michael simply because they hoped he'd run into the jungle w/ a gun. They seem to want guns!

I've seen both pro and con re: did Michael imagine the conversation. I tended toward his imagination, simply b/c Jack saw nothing on the screen. We thought it might mean that M. was getting "the Sickness."
It'll be interesting to see if they DO tell us which version is the truth. Hope M. at least tells someone that he saw "Walt" talking to him on the screen.

Yes, Michael's reaction and response in that scene has always bothered me too!

i personally dont think it was Walt. The others are very tricksy. They seem to know a lot about everyone, and they know Michael is Walts father, as someone mentioned. They probably did that to lure him on. And personally, I doubt that Walt is going to come back anytime soon.:undecide: :frown:

lol... I thought it was funny, Anyways, If the messaging was coming from Walt or the 'others', how did they know exactly when Michael would be at the computer to begin messaging and when Jack was coming to stop?

I think that goes back to the Others watching the hatch.
I think Mike talked to somebody. It was the way the computer "blipped" while he was on the side of it, not looking AT it, getting his attention.

Are you suggesting there is another spy amongst the losties that is relaying the activities and whereabouts of each lostie?

Well, besides thinking that also...remember when Zeke told them that they "took their shoes off in a strangers house".
Locke took his shoes off in the Hatch when they got there.
I'm thinking cameras.

I was thinking Locke did that because of his previous view that the hatch was 'his' home. And most, I think, take their shoes off when they're at home. But the surveillence cameras are an intriguing idea... kinda big brother spooky eh?

Ever since Zeke made that remark about Locke taking his shoes off, opening doors, and eating food, I have been convinced that there are hidden surveillance cameras in the Swan hatch. I think we're about to see "Command Central" in the next few weeks...maybe not see all of it but at least reveal it like the hatch cliffhanger last year.

ya i thought cameras for sure but even if they dont zeke is trying to make a point being do they open doors they're not supposto ( the hatch) and eat food they arnt welcome to( the boar) ? the thing i cant get is if the others might want locke sooner or later cuz I think zeke sees him as good with the island that would be a twist

dmouse22-why do you think the others would want Locke? I'd like to hear more.
They had the opportunity to grab/take him during THP when they had the gun to Kate's head. They could have easily exchanged Kate for Locke?

Your right, it would be an interesting twist, and Lock would probably welcome the invitation to join the others and view it as his 'destiny'. That said, maybe fakeHenry was sent to the hatch to evaluate Locke.
