Did anyone notice the initial PA speaker announcement seemed much clearer in the Reckoning episode than when it originally aired? I really could not tell what was original said because of all the static, screeching and feedback but in the recap show it seemed perfectly clear to me.
I wonder if there's some significance to this.

I think ABC might have saw the audio wasn't good enough and got a chance to fix it.

Yes, I read that but I can't remember where - it might have been in one of podcasts. They intentionally tried to clean it up so it would be more obvious to us what it was actually saying.

I guess we can find out when the DVD set of season two comes out. I'll be keeping it in mind when I rewatch the season.

I wondered about that I also wondered if those on the outside of the hatch heard it?

Just like they tried to clean up Locke's spanner when the blastdoors came down ? Annoying how that didn't appear on the promos ;)

In the episode, that was covered by the music. They just didn't have any music playing this time.

i think you're right and there's a reason for it.
the voice says "20 minutes to lock down" and yet the doors close right after that.
if you figure 20 minutes have passed once Locke get his legs caught, that time frame coincides with the black light coming on. the actual doors coming down aren't the lock down at all. it's the black light.
why else would the voice say "20 minutes" immediately followed by the doors coming down?
