What is so special about mike, except for the fact that he is or was the only survivor with a child. What parent wouldn't do anything for their child. I think that is one reason that the "others" are so interested in Walt. Not to mention his ability to see things before they happen and to actually make them happen

Welcome to the ‘lage carlene! Personally I’ve always liked Michael, or at least didn’t dislike him. I do agree that his dialog this second season has become annoyingly predictable but I blame the writers for that one. He is a man desperate to save his son and he actions can be understood from that point.

I am getting more out of Walt's character than Micheal's. Perhaps his (Michael's) character is just more subtle (in the face of carichatures like Sawyer, Locke, even the Doc) ?...
