View Full Version : OLD RV Parking Space
PrincessOrual 05-14-2006, 10:19 AM This is a new thread for me and my buds from over on the ABC site. We can't stand the weirdness, craziness or trollishness from there anymore. Or the fact that the site goes down all the time, or that it eats our posts, or that it's annoying.
But we are usually much more upbeat than this.
We will be migrating this week. I'm just getting a parking space for us.
100%
This is from the opening page of the RV on the old site. Onyx usually begins the monthly threads with this:
Welcome to the May version of the OLD Thread.
Here's the link to a food calendar
http://www.tfdutch.com/foodh.htm
http://www.thenibble.com/fun/more/facts/food-holidays.asp
Basic information and philosophies for the OLD Thread
1. Be nice
2. We love chocolate and are usually here in the mornings
3. Most of us have been on the boards for a long time
4. Embrace the maturity of age
5. Embrace the joy of youth
6. Discussion may or may not center around Lost.
7. We are an OT community of fans.
8. Shoes are optional
9. Respect for other posters is required
So come on in! We have a non-bar so that our non-drinking friends will feel welcome here.
4_Toed_Foot 05-14-2006, 12:53 PM Princess!!!! Yay!!! It's me...Tiki!!! I know. I hate this name but what can I do? I don't know how to change it. I registered over here such a long time ago. Never really used it, though. I like it here...what about you? I've missed ya honey!
Teeks, Veems, BnR4...whatever you want to call me....
P.S. I hope everyone else comes over...
Onyx2201 05-14-2006, 07:50 PM Well gang, I guess we'll try this.
This looks like a nice place to park the old RV.
Don't wander too far away we need to be able to regroup. don't get lost.
For tonight's menu we'll have Fettucine Alfredo, a tossed salad, garlic bread, and a fresh strawberry pie for dessert. The bar and non-bar are both open. Pull up a chair and chat.
Looks around. It's not home, yet.
Feels a bit strange to have the RV parked over here and not in the other place. But I am sure we'll make new friends
Breaks out the autoharp and starts to strum
"Make new friends, but the keep the old,
one is silver and the other gold"
Come on we can sing this as a round. Everybody!
Danny 05-14-2006, 07:54 PM Hey I'm up for some RV camping.... that's my style.
I"m sorta in the "new" generation, so i don't know the words to that song ;)
oh btw, any smore-making in the future? :)
BOBBY 05-14-2006, 07:59 PM Princess!!!! Yay!!! It's me...Tiki!!! I know. I hate this name but what can I do? I don't know how to change it.

Onyx2201 05-14-2006, 08:18 PM Welcome aboard. There's really a bunch of us, but I guess I'm the only one here. We used to post at ABc and have had problems so we decided to try this place.
Smores you betcha!
Her'e a stick for roasting the marshmellows.

Oops, sorry I was out, I was reading blogs. Oh look! A spell check feature! Cool My typing stinks!
Onyx2201 05-14-2006, 09:24 PM I started a thread too.
But this looks fun too
100%
I have a feeling we'll see some of our old friends here too.
I like all the little emoticons.
I'll try and be a good girl:hypocrit:
Hmm it says here that this site will be turned off during busy times and that posts made here won't count toward our post count:confused:
We'll get this all figured out, sooner or later. Moving it sure seems strange. Oh well they say that change is good (sometimes) I hope they are right. I wonder who they are anyway.
PrincessOrual 05-14-2006, 10:09 PM Oh well they say that change is good (sometimes) I hope they are right. I wonder who they are anyway.
They are the same mofo's who said that everything would be okay if only......(fill in the blank). grrrr
Tiki!!! Looks like you've already gotten some help! Yahoo! I expect MDP from you anyway. how fun! At least you always admit to it and don't try to pass yourself off as a 'brand new poster' who, magically has the same tired old opinions as some old cranky poster!
Onyx2201 05-14-2006, 10:12 PM Oh goody I'm not alone. I was feeling lonely and about to sing the lonely song.

Still learning how to use this site.
tomorrow is chocolate chip day! I need to bake cookies and make the milk really, really cold.
All three of my "boys" called today and their wives got mad that they didn't get to talk to me, so the wives called back. I have the greatest daughters-in-law on the planet

I left a note in our previous campsite and a link to here. I'll have to email myself this link to work so that we can visit.
PrincessOrual 05-14-2006, 10:17 PM I tried the spell check feature, you have to down load some thingummy.
Hey, did someone eat all the smores? Oh, the new guy, Danny. Cool.
I brought out the yukelele and the camp songs in case anyone wants to sing. I also have a rocket launcher for the first person to dare to sing Kumbyeya.
Hey, is anyone else getting a little confuzzeled with the whole path to zen post counts here? yeah, I'm thinking we will have to actually talk Lost, which is cool. We can do topical RV trips, though I do prefer keeping our OT status while Lost talk happens.
Oh, btw, anyone having a finale party? We are trying to get one off the ground. I've actually started petioning to have the finale shown on the big screen on campus next year. I tried for this year, but the idea hit me too late. left a bump too. Anyway, some of the school veeps are Lostifreaks, so it's entirely possible. (Sean, I'll let you know. How fun would that be? Lost at the Hoff!)
Aurora10 05-14-2006, 10:21 PM Soooo, do you want to keep the thread in the groups section or this one?
PrincessOrual 05-14-2006, 10:31 PM Soooo, do you want to keep the thread in the groups section or this one?
There's a group section? We surely don't want to step on toes here, we all love lost, but we like to chat together too, this seemed like a logical place to put this thread.
Hey Onyx. I'm not on for long.
halfrek 05-14-2006, 10:41 PM if you want to keep the other thread just to assign numbers to your group,
(if you want cool numbers for your siggys) then fine.
and keep the chatter here. i think that that would be best.
please read over the FAQ and rules.
we are quite strict by most posters standards...just a little hint ;)
there is also a good bit of info in the sticky posts on a few of the sections,
and a lot of info in the Q&A for Admins/Mods.
welcome to the Fuselage.
Onyx2201 05-14-2006, 10:44 PM Hmmm a lost finale party,, and that will be a week from Wednesday, right? On May 24? that would the day I am released from prison, um I mean school.
I am sure that LB and I will have a private party. he he he
ONLY 7 work days left with kids!

Okay, so I read through the rules, I didn't see any we had broken so far. We chose the chit chat section, cause it was chit chats, and because we've never wanted to be exclusive, it just worked out that there were a core of us from the 'other' place who were kind and liked to have fun with our lost. Thanks for the hints. I'm not trying to be difficult, I just didn't see we had broken a rule. We are really happy to follow rules. In fact, that's kinda why we are here, to be in a place that actually has mods and makes posters stick to the rules. Please tell me what I've done wrong. We are just learning.
Onyx2201 05-14-2006, 11:01 PM Princess don't hyper ventilate, I think we'll be okay, well we might have to worry about Sean after he's had a few. I'm going to get my beauty rest, See ya tomorrow!
Hugs and other mushy stuff
Danny 05-14-2006, 11:18 PM Also, chit chat sections don't count towards post counts here. They keep the post count more towards lost related things.
da mawds er gwate heaw bah da way :)
*swallow* *gulp*
The mods are great here btw :)

No worries, you didn't break any rules. Halfrek was just reminding you to read over the FAQ and rules. It's just that you had two of the same threads in different sections. It's perfectly okay to have a place to chat so go for it! Have fun.
you_gonna_eat_that 05-15-2006, 08:35 AM Hubba. Hubba. Sorry, I've spent far too long ironing my kilt today. I'll be cooking haggis for the majority of the day.

PrincessOrual 05-15-2006, 09:42 AM YGET, YAY!!! You made the switch!!! Huzzah! huzzah! Huzzah!!!
Is this more betterer over here? I'm soo hoping so. Plus we've got new Danny too. YAY!!

Porochaz 05-15-2006, 09:43 AM Hi there! Welcome to the Lage! Home to all,( Well except, that evil zebra...) Anyway, Hi hope you find your experience here better than the other boards.
Ace I was just stumbling aroung and thought I'd better say hi!
Onyx2201 05-15-2006, 09:43 AM Haggis and chocolate chip cookies???? Shouldn't the haggis be buried to let it rot, um I mean age before it is eaten?:undecide:
Good to see ya kilty man!

Thank you Aurora!!! We really wanted a new place to talk Lost and stuff that was friendly and nice, and with good coffee and couches, kinda like here. We've weathered a storm out there with the Others over on ABC. YIKEZ!
Onyx2201 05-15-2006, 10:05 AM Look! I found some chocolate chip graham crackers! Let's make smore's for breakfast,
I like this thread title. The other place had my post count down to only 100+ it had been 1000! :eek2:
Kids will be coming in soon, and 2-4 th periods will be discussing what does beauty mean. It should prove to be very interesting!:horse: :horse:
PrincessOrual 05-15-2006, 10:21 AM I love smores, but they always taste better with smoke.
Okay, so I've had some mental issues lately. Not the bad ones, just some fogginess. I forgot an important password and ho crickey!!!

Onyx2201 05-15-2006, 12:33 PM Nope I haven't gone back this morning. :velho:
I'm a feared of being eaten by the monster
you_gonna_eat_that 05-15-2006, 01:01 PM Hey. Back after a few hours of clearing Dad's junk. Mom is frozen with fear at the sheer volume of stuff. I found a trophy that was won by various schools in the 20's and 30's. I wonder if they'd like it back...
Yay, O. No more kids soon.
'Cess--Lost at the Hoff? I think that would be the onliest time I would've ever seen a show sober there. ;)

yikes! did i have my mean face on? no, you are fine.
i was just reminding you all to read over things and get settled in.
we get a lot of new posters daily and sometimes they dont read things
and post like they did on other sites.
if you all had broken some rule i would have pointed
that out. i know, i know, you saw my colored font and thought i was here to enforce something.
*sigh* not always the case. ;) in time you will get to know my posting style.
looks like you all are settling in just fine. have fun. and do have the bar wenches
mind the "family board" atmosphere.
LadyEmm13 05-15-2006, 01:39 PM Ok y'all. trying this too, And I wanted a s'more but the new guy got them, so I brought some warm from the cooker KK's.
Did the CB' make the transition or are we waiting on ourselves here?
Glad to see Tiks made it, and of Course the Princess is here and Onyx and Sean, I thougt about changing names to Not_the_Mamma, but I figured I would just be me in here and see what happens :-)
Onyx2201 05-15-2006, 01:40 PM Whoa! I made it back!:horse:
Kids are discussing the meaning of beauty! Let me tell you it is interesting! I've been eavesdropping on their conversations and some of those kids are DEEP:gossip:
Some of them are searching for truth:detctive: :artist:
I love all these emoticans. I am sure that after awhile I will get tired of them , but what great stories they tell :vincent:

The Beer wenches have been broken to a family rating standard. It's the Cabana boys we sometmes have to worry aobut:eek:
LadyEmm13 05-15-2006, 01:53 PM :hypocrit: I will take care of the Cabana Boys- except of course for the Viggo's- 'Cess is responsible for their behavior or lack thereof,
I like the smileys too, they are much more fun than the other place:boat: and since I never cared about post count I like it here. I have a tone of work to do but I want to look around here- oh no! this may be even more addicting that the "other" place.:eek2:
PrincessOrual 05-15-2006, 01:56 PM The Beer wenches have been broken to a family rating standard. It's the Cabana boys we sometmes have to worry aobut:eek:
Viggo!!!!! go get some clothes on!!!!! Dang it, I've trained them and trained them.
Now I have to untrain them.
so, it looks like we are all migrated. Onyx left a note on the door of the RV incase anyone comes looking, so I suppose it's okay. Apparently we can change our name here with out re:registering. I might just do that, cept that I will always be a Princess.
Yes, Sean, it would be a sober first for me too.
Hey, is Tiki/Bear/Noah dry or is she in danger up there in the great wet north?
 :dragnbal: :whistling :nuke: :bash: :puke: :serenade:
I'm loving the new smilies we can use. Especially the rolleyes one. the puke one is just gross, so of course I included it.
LadyEmm13 05-15-2006, 02:05 PM :flamethrower: :smoke: I LOVE these. laws a mussy I need to get work done, the boss lady will be back LOL but I think we will be able to have fun here if we do not get caught looking under Seans kilt etc. :hypocrit: I hope Tiks/Bear/Veems is ok, we can send dry socks if necessary.
Love y'all, only think this doesn't have is the talkie part but we still have gmail for that.

I don't want to ruin the surprise but just let me say that Viggo will be making an appearance on your bumper sticker.
Onyx2201 05-15-2006, 03:02 PM So far the only concern they have about us here is regarding the behavior of the CB's and BW's. But I think Sean and 'Cess have that under control:42fight: :wallbash: :chair: :bash:
Maybe not. Back to working on End of Year Test

Onyx!!!! Congrats on getting your tests done. Seriously, let me make one up!!! Me and Sean, plllleeeeeaaaaaassssssseeee! That would be so fun. you don't have to grade it, just use it to scare them.
LadyEmm13 05-15-2006, 05:44 PM I want to sign up to take THAT test!
I love the smileys and I think I might have to feed the poor coyote that babybear has, Won't Forrest love that one.... honey look what else I brought home- it looked hungry too! The new baby kitty is happy, and the other kitty are learning their tolerance lessons- Tango has even unbent far enough to wash her face Cash is still not speaking to her, but at least he is not threatening to eat her either. She is still sleeping with me. and thinks my hair is her nest.
kitty smiley:cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: except she is darker.
talk to you guys tomorrow, must go play GF tonight and get Forrest some food as well as kitten food LOL
PrincessOrual 05-16-2006, 09:30 AM :horse:
Okay, the pooping horse is too funny, in a scatalogical sort of way.
Here is how to get back here everyday, just in case you lose the link. Go to chit chat then to Chat Groups and there we are! Someone put us here. SWEET!!!! I like the mods, that was highly nice of them to move us here. It seems there are only a couple of chat groups, and so we are always on the page.
Is everyone ready for the next to last epi? Anyone doing anything special for the finale? We might have a family party at the house, but we shall see.

It's allergy season here right now. My eyes are all red and I'm not sleeping either. Wow, leaded Dr. Pepper? Oh, did you try the new berries and cream version? Kinda reminded me of a soda I drank as a kid but I can't remember the name. it was okay. my fav soda right now is diet cherry coke.
Are you feeling like your body is starting to let down now that you are close to the end of the year?
LadyEmm13 05-16-2006, 11:38 AM My favorite soda is Diet Cherry Vanilla Coke at the moment. Although it is really good after work if you liven it up with a shot or two.
I wondered why I could not find us this morning, I was getting a tad anxiousy :eek1: and a bit nervy when I could not find my sanity! (yes you are my sanity!!!)
Been a morning here- raining finally- not enough to put out the fires but hopefully it will stay nice and soft and stick over us awhile and help the firefighters out a bit, :fireman2: Baby kitty had an 'accident' last night all over mammys bed so mommy was late to work this morning. NOT a happy mommy. She HAS to figure out how to get off of the dern bed it's not that far to jump and she jumps off the couch, but will NOT jump off the bed. her name will be changed to Princesss Poo-pot if she doesn't learn soon, I like clean beds and do not like to change sheets every day and night.:puke1:
Anyway, Swampy day here, but glad to see y'all..... Only a couple more days of school for Onyxie!!!!!!
Onyx2201 05-16-2006, 11:56 AM My body is letting down, my mind is racing a million miles an hour and won't stop. We're watching a Twilgiht Zone. :tomato1: :smash:

Onyx2201 05-16-2006, 12:14 PM Thanks, I just discovered typos on my test, so i've fixed them and now have the study guides to do. It never ends!:eek2:
PrincessOrual 05-16-2006, 12:46 PM Study guides? your kids get study guides? Sheesh, we never got any such thing.
Hey Mamma. I put a box next to my bed so the cat had a step up to jump up and to jump down. It helped her when she was old. But you so can't have her doing that on your bed. Yikez.

How is Prince Kilty Man?
And where have Rick and Alia been?
Shoot. I miss them.
Sean, my dad still hasn't had the heart to go through Mom's clothes. He can't yet. Your mom will go through everything in time. Hopefully she won't rush through it just to get it done.
you_gonna_eat_that 05-16-2006, 12:53 PM Sheeee's rushing. Actually, I can't blame her. Mom and Dad had planned to move near me 2 years ago, before everything started. Plus, she's let him clutter up the house for 28 years. The realtor says the house has to be on the market by July 1st....With 4 weeks of fixing up....
Maybe I can stay tomorrow. I took that day off. See yas all!

Dang. I'll pray that she does everything right the first time. It's really hard to make decisions right after grief. They (grief experts) say that you should postpone making big decisions for 6 months after a loved one dies. It makes big sense this side of everything.
Clutter. grrrr, it's so hard to sort through everything.

My cousins helped my mom go through Daddy's things, I couldn't because I coouldn't stay here. But mom stayed in the house too, she is still there although she has re-done a lot of it so it does not have as much remindery stuff- or at least not the obvious remindery stuff.
I thought about a step for Princess-Poopy-Potz but geezy peezy she is already the queen of spoiled, her own coordinated ceramic bowls (the boys share plastic) baby formula in her food (that the two tubbo- big guys steal) but that was GROSS!!!! and they do not make kitty diapers- I looked. nor do they make flea gunk for little baby kitties. I thought about locking her in the room with the litter box at night til she gets bigget but that makes me feel soooooooo mean.
maybe I will get her a kitty ticket on the next flight 815 and Vincent can teach her LOL
Onyx2201 05-16-2006, 02:00 PM Found I had omitted a word on one question, so I'll print the test off again! Thanks heavens for test generators!

4_Toed_Foot 05-16-2006, 05:42 PM Hey guys...sorry that I didn't stop in earlier. I went to lunch with my most toxic friend. Seriously...she's a piece of work. So much history there but I can't seem to say "see ya". I always have to come home and meditate for a bit after I spend time with her. Someone once told me that if you don't feel good about yourself after you've spent time with a friend, then that person isn't really your friend. So...now I have to try and remember that :pookie: and I can always do this to her :chair: if I need to!!!
So, how are you all, anyway?
LadyEmm13 05-16-2006, 05:48 PM I love the smilies!

4_Toed_Foot 05-17-2006, 08:23 AM Oh, can no one else see my avatar?
Hey Everyone!!! Good morning! What is the strange, glowing orb that I see in the sky? Oh yeah...it's the sun. I'd forgotten what it looks like! Yay for sun in New England!
Princess...I did see your avatar! I just didn't spend much time in here yesterday and I forgot to comment in my one post. You were adorable! Now...here's the question. I'd like to get me one of those...how do I do it?
Onyx2201 05-17-2006, 09:46 AM I'm here and I have to wait until I've been a member 10 days before I can have an avatar I went to bed at 7:30 last night a mile this morning! Yeah me. This is the last Wednesday w/ kids!!!!!!:jump: :jump1:   :clapping: :clapping: :harhar1: :w00t: :w00t:
PrincessOrual 05-17-2006, 10:20 AM :lime: :apple:  :cheese: :coffee: :oreo: :pear: You have to wait 10 days AND make 10 actual Lost related posts before you can choose an avatar. Then you go to User CP up at the top and then choose a picture (I had to crop the one I used to fit the size), up load it and then viola! you've got an avatar.
They are rather cool, and they show up on all the posts not just the ones you make after you load it.
I was getting worried about my memorial day trip to Boston. I can sail and swim, but I was hoping to not get so soaked. I'm quite happy the sun is out up there! Is your sister okay?

Onyx2201 05-17-2006, 12:38 PM Well I wonder why that wouldn't work before?
Kids copied down their study guides for end fo year test. Today is also picture day, so for my first three periods kids are being called out for group pictures. I signed up for three days of workshops, I'm supposed to get a digital camera in my two day workshop. Could be fun! :clapping:
I miss rick and sean and alia. I hope they are all okay. :mushy:
you_gonna_eat_that 05-17-2006, 12:39 PM Hello. Gee, I miss youse guys. Today might be the last day of helping Mom out. Something tells me it won't, though. Ice cream maker? I used to have a Ben & Jerry's recipe book. Made some good stuff.
LadyEmm13 05-17-2006, 01:35 PM I'll help make ice cream. Can we have banana and fudge ripple too? I used to lovemaking ice cream at the beach when we were kids- how we ever thought we could crank out iv=ce cream in gazillion degree weather is beyond me , but the growed-ups always managed some kind of magigal process that still eludes me to make it happen.
We miss you Kilty Man, but understand the issue like nobodied=s business here, we are with you. In spirit if not if factual bods. Do you know the LoneStar Song "Already There: ? If not, when you get a chance sometime listen to it and aooly it to us- not the romaticall part, but the part about how, no matter where you are, no matter how far- we are right there, always.
That goeas for all the RVers too.
Swamp is icky today. Must away to funeral of a chaild of a person I went to HS with, Car accident over Mothers Day weekend, totally senseless as usual, kid was in the right, and died, other guy in the wrong and fine. :frown:
but one more angel to keep watch over a world that needs it I suppose.

Onyx2201 05-17-2006, 01:56 PM We can make any kind of ice cream y'all want! I won't be able to make a batch for couple days as I have to freeze the container first. I'll probably buy a second one, becsue honey when I make ice cream, I make ICE CREAM!!

So how's everybody?
I was messing around with the nifty stuff in Dad's gun safe. There was an antique book inside. Finding something in an unusual place is standard fare but the book was really heavy for its size. I opened it up and found a little Derringer that had been cut into the book long ago. Ha!
Onyx2201 05-19-2006, 09:48 AM Hooray I made it into today!!!:wavey: :toot:
I think we need a dancing smiley!
I have mornign duty and then I will be giving a final and then I wont see those kids for the rest of the school year!!!!
OKay what did eveybody think of Sawyers comment to JAck that he was the closest thing to a freind the had??
YEAH for Sayid to not buy into all of Micheals crap!
Hurley are you nuts for going along?
you_gonna_eat_that 05-19-2006, 10:11 AM Hey O. I'm procrastinating today. I'd rather spend time with you all than do the junk I'm supposed to be doing!

4_Toed_Foot 05-19-2006, 01:12 PM Hey guys...just a quick check in. I'm having some lower back problems. I can actually sit up at the computer desk for a minute, so I'm saying "hi". Hopefully, everything will be back to normal by this weekend. I hate when this happens!
you_gonna_eat_that 05-20-2006, 01:56 AM Hey Baby B. I hope your back feels better. Any actual injury? I ask because I had bad problems but no actual damage. I've since learned how to handle it and I have feeling in all my toes now.
Well, we leave for Disney in a couple of hours. My first time ever. Wish me luck. They do have margaritas there, right?

Well, we leave for Disney in a couple of hours. My first time ever. Wish me luck. They do have margaritas there, right?
Seany!!! I haven't spoken to you for so long!!! Yay!
Well...to answer your question...I have no idea what I did to my back. I was fine in the morning and unable to get up off the floor in the afternoon. I don't think that it's an actual injury because it's so much better now. It still aches...but just a dull ache, not the sharp, squeezing pain that I felt at the onset. I welcome any advise cuz this stinks.
Anyway, enough about me. Disney!!! Yay! I'm jealous. I think that you're probably already there but just in case, HAVE FUN!!! You're going to love it! Margaritas can be found in Epcot (Mexico...who would have thunk it?) Yummy...you can probably get some beer in Germany. I'm not sure because once I found that the restaurant in Mexico served margaritas, I made sure not to wander too far... My friend and I both noticed that the ride attendants in Epcot are so much more annoyed than anywhere else in Disney. They're probably cursing the fact that the parents can drink alcohol in their park and not in any other Disney park. All the parents must guzzle down whatever they can before it's time to move on....
Again...I'm so envious. The first time with the kids is truly magical. Oh yeah...be sure to ride on The Tower of Terror for me and make sure to stop in The Enchanted Tiki Room. Fell free to buy me a tiki mug!!! Bye
PrincessOrual 05-21-2006, 02:38 PM YAY!! Disney...
Wait, will you be able to watch Lost on vacay? Can you? I would hope so, it being the finale and all.
Tiki, ifn I ever come across a fun tiki glass you will have to give me the address for a PO Box three towns over so I can mail it to you.
Okay, so I just got sucker punched by this cold thing, I was down for the count. Seriously, two days in bed just coughing and aching. It was horrible. Bleh. I hope none of you get it.
Well, I have to run, but I miss all of you very badly.

Hey Princess...I hope that your cold is better. Looks like we were both out of it last week. I'm so much better...I'd say I'm operating at 89 percent efficiency. Still at little sore in the mornings but I don't have time to even pay attention to it. Must move on.
My daughter just told us that her chorus concert is Wednesday night! If I'm not home for LOST, the chorus director is going to get a nasty e-mail on Thursday morning!:ranting:
The DVR will help but somehow it's kind of not the same.
Hmmm...a PO Box three towns over...:rotflmao2: that would work. I must go out and buy a fake beard, large sunglasses, and some kind of unusal hat first, though (possibly a coonskin cap?). Wouldn't want anyone to recognize me when I pick up the steady stream of Tiki paraphernalia that will be shipped to it. Then again, I could always save some money and just put a bag over my head....:bag:

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! (the bagged smilie)
just look sternly at the chorus director and tell her that you have a very important business to take care of promptly at 9:00. If you don't get to your business then the world will explode.
I still feel like I'm being dragged by a truck.
4_Toed_Foot 05-22-2006, 10:59 AM Sorry you're still feeling unwell. It really stinks. I've been outside all morning. Just doing some work in the garden and sweeping my patio. Hubby and the kids bought me a really cool little water fountain thingy and some patio lights for Mother's Day. I love them. It's so nice to sit outside, light a fire in the chiminea (sp?), sip a margarita, and listen to the water flowing through my fountain. Very relaxing.
My garden is actually looking pretty lush, right now. All that rain! I knew it was good for something!:arabia: Swami Tiki predicts a lovely yard this summer!!!

In your fabulous palace of all things Tiki, do you see bright and beautiful things for kate and jack? Will we discover that Rose is Walt's grandmamma? Do you think we will see more of Sawyer's abs in season 3? Will Charlie and Claire ever figure out that they are hecka cute together? Will Aaron begin to levitate things? Will Walt learn that he can visit Michael and tell him to stop being such a doo doo head? Will Kate's eyebrows make it unscathed through the season finale? These are all things I must know.

Please asking for prayer for aunt- she fell and is in hospital for tests {nothing broken except her glasses :-) - she has Alzeinheimers/CRS and thus it is an issue, but saw her last night and she stayed on track the whole time for me and even ate most of her dinner, so that was good. I tried to tell her I would sneek her out for home made ice cream, but it didn't work ;)

And you are right, the way cool book with the gun in it is seriously neato. Sean, have you figured out how/where to shoot it? ( I know you are at Disney.)
Mamma, time with the horses is lovely. You can ride? Sweet. I've always wanted to learn. Sad about the horse at Pimlico. I love those creatures, not in a little girl and a pony sort of way, I mean in the wild kind of way.

Okay, so my brain hurts today.
Do you all think Michael has lost his mind? I do. I still can't believe he just killed Ana Lucia and Libby. And that he's all kinds of ready to loose the dogs onto Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley. Does he not get it?

Hey! Where did Toto go? Why, look, over there, he's found a really sexy girl behind a curtain, and she, why, i believe she's got a credit card processer. Do you think I should still buy the overprices information from questionable sources? Should I?

LadyEmm13 05-23-2006, 10:07 AM Swami Tiki that has got to be the most ummm Interesting menu I have ever seen. I think I may have to re-Vamp the menu for this weekend, after all I will be having company over and I want to serve them something special and unique:ntworthy:
Aunt still in horsepistal, waiting for sodium to get better and infections to get better , but went by again last evening and she had been out of bed ( a MAJOR achievement as she wont even do that at home much) still not eating ( doesn't do That at home either), she was talking like she is ready to give up, at least to me, she will not tell anyone else that stuff, so we talked and I reminded her that even though she is frustrated and angry at the loss of her memory and function she does still remember the important stuff, like who we are and who she loves and who loves her. etc. Hope I helped. She did stay on task and asked about my kids etc so I thought that was a good thing.
I am hoping the swamp will have a short week this week- like close Friday, My fingers are crossed, also hoping that the guy from brighthouse fixes my phone and 'puter at home so I can play with y'all on weekends and after I leave the swamp since that has been near impossible. If not I have to change phone companies again so I have my puter back or just go cell phone only.
Anyhow, enough fussin'
May you all have a BOOTIFUL day toay with Fairy Flowers and Pixie Dust and Flashes of Kilty man and Viggo's and Tiki's everywhere!!!!!
Onyx2201 05-23-2006, 12:13 PM It's been interesting today. So far I 've heard about a possible fight, with kid names and everytihg. and a possible food fight in the cafeteria at lunch. Calgon, take them away. One of my good classes is taking a final and it should be very easy! Finding top of desk! No chocolate yet.

Onyx2201 05-26-2006, 08:48 PM I've been having computer problems,
I am now on eternal ignore to see if they can tell me the problem.
First we got to talk to a nice lady in Canada:flag5:
Then she transferred me back to the gulf coast. :flag1: And they will be here on Wednesday :jawdrop: to have a look because they can tell my signal is coming and going:eek: . GRRRR
Meanwhile LB went outside to have a look see and noticed that a branch from our neighbor's tree has been rubbing against the cable:poking: . So LB got on the shed and cut the offending limbs from the tree:flex: . Hopefully that will solve the problem until the computer people get here:geek: .
I am having way too much fun with these darn smileys, :4:
I have missed you all most dreadfully!
4_Toed_Foot 05-27-2006, 04:11 PM Hey Onyx (and everyone else). Sorry you're having computer problems. I HATE computer problems. They make me quite ill.
I've been SO busy and every time I've tried to sign on, the powers that be tell me that we're shut down for "busy" times. Oh well...now that the season is officially over we should be able to talk all the time.
Okay...so here's my BIG question about the finale...What do you guys make of the statue-foot with four toes? It's been perplexing me for days...
I'm going to have some random smiley fun, now. Feel free to ignore.:wine:
:desmond:...Okay, I've said it. After this last episode, I've begun to think that Desmond is truly the hottest guy on LOST. Why didn't I notcie before? Now, it's too late...he's gone...
you_gonna_eat_that 05-28-2006, 04:49 AM Hey all. I'm back. I'm not sure I've ever had so many opinions about one single thing at one time (remember, I was a Disney virgin before last week). Also, since i'm a guy, the whole Princess thing doesn't faze me. I did, however, see a pink cowboy hat that read, "Pirate Princess". Also, I went to the Enchanted Tiki Room. Outside, I found a low whistle (a tinwhistle an octave down) that will actually fit my ladylike fingers (sadly, the truth is out).
My beloved TiVo saved Misplaced for me. Wow. More than I ever could have hoped for.
Before I left for Florida, we found an antique, unused silencer amongst Dad's gun collection. mom snatched it from me. It's only a felony to possess them. Ha!
I've got to go. It's insanely late.
Princess..when do you leave for BeanTown? You've got to have a Sam Adams 375 for me. It's in the style of an ale that one would've drank in America at Boston's founding (hence the name). sadly, it's only on tap. You've also got to have a coffee at every Dunkin Donuts you see...
4_Toed_Foot 05-28-2006, 02:45 PM Hey Sean...Hope you had fun! Yeah, the Princess thing is a bit too much to take. I just REALLY like the style that the Disney "Imagineers" put into every corner. My two favorite places are...
The boiler room in the queue line at the Tower of Terror and The Haunted Mansion...oh yeah...Pirates of the Caribbean, too. You didn't get to see it, did you? I've heard that they've closed the original forever to "revamp" it with the PotC movie stuff. Annoying. Leave the classic rides alone, please!
Oh yeah...and I forgot that Princess is coming to Massachusetts! Gee, I hope she can find a Dunkin Donuts. It's so hard to locate one...:wink3:
The Enchanted Tiki Room! Yay! Hunny and son (daughter is on a school trip to Montreal) have just left for a cookout that, thank heavens, I get to miss. I'm considering taking a sneaky drive to Target to buy the Tiki Statue that's on sale this week. I'd better hurry, they may go fast!!!:42:
Talk to you all later and have a great Memorial Day!
Onyx2201 05-28-2006, 05:09 PM Where to start? We drove to the BIG city for a graduation shindig for a former students and had a blast! Then went to dinner on Galveston Island and had Central American food. YUMMM! :tbletalk:
Went to church and the a/c wasn't working. Came home and took a nap. Registered on United Streaming so that I can start some planning for next year. Had a Dr. Pepper float made with my homemade ice cream! :rootbeer: YUMMM:drool:
Watching a movie, checked in a decided to post.
Still feeling frustrated about son and his "situation" :crybaby: I know it is his decision. The rest of us are feeling very frustrated and violated. I can't find the smiley of bashing head against a brick wall:frusty: :bash: :bangin:
I'll call the son and the daughter-in-law today at different times and on different phones of course.:phone1:
.
We take the car in for it's oil change and 60,000 mile fluids change tomorrow. :scooter:
See ya later:kiss:

PrincessOrual 05-30-2006, 10:23 AM YAY!!!!!! I'm back from Beantown!
Who knew there would be so few Dunkin Donuts shops there? Seriously, those people must be addicted. My sister and I vowed to eschew chains for local places only, so I finally got a DD coffee at the airport.
Sean, I could only find the SA Summer Ale on tap, not the older one. That would have been quite yummy. I did get a great picture of Sam's gravestone for you, just incase you needed one.
Tiki, the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum was glorious. I spent as much time coveting the achitecture as I did enjoying the art. Okay, sorry, more time on the building. But the art was wonderful as well. Someday I am going to need that courtyard.
The four toed statue was freaky. What was up with that?

Oh Yay for the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum! Yeah...the architecture is spectacular. True confession time...when I was in high school and I went to the ISG Museum for the first time, I stood looking out at the courtyard and imagined myself as Juliet. It was just so much like the courtyard in the Franco Zeffirelli version from the 60's ( you know...the one with Olivia Hussey and Lawrence Whitney?).
Gee...Im glad that you finally found a DD. They're so hard to spot!;)
Kay...got to go running right now...talk to you all later.

Oh yeah...forgot to mention that I found some really cool Jamaican statues at a thrift shop. I've expanded my statue interests and now I'm not only into Tikis. I embrace all religious and folk art trinkets from any culture. So, now I have gargoyles, hindu statues (these I collected during the "yoga" years...Ganesh, Buddha, Tara, Shiva, Hanuman and Kali), tikis, jamaican folk art, and two little incan statues that I found with my most recent tiki-yard sale purchase. I didn't get to Target yet..I'm going to the mall in which it's located tonight. Dearest daughter needs a dress for the eighth grade cruise, so I'm stopping in Target and buying that statue on sale...I'm SO excited!
you_gonna_eat_that 05-30-2006, 10:49 AM Hey, 'C. Glad you had fun. I'd love to see Sam's gravesite. I hear the graves in Boston are really nifty.
Teeks--Your daughter's in Montreal? I'm so jealous. I'm a Canadiens fan from way back.
O--School's out. Yaaaaaay!
M-Cat. I'm so glad you're speaking to me.

Hey...back from running. Note to self...remember to run early in the morning so that the sun doesn't beat down and cause a near death experience...
Okay...I just had to share this with you, too. There was a very strange guy riding his bike around the bog this morning. He had a ZZ Top beard and he was wearing a helmet with bird feathers attached (somehow) to it. Umm...okaaaay...needless to say, I ran a bit faster whenever I had to pass him.
Yeah...daughter was in Montreal over the long weekend. She's back home, now. From the pictures, it looks like she had a very good time. She brought me back some maple syrup...yummy. Oh yeah...they went ice skating in Montreal and she had to rent hockey skates (apparently, the skate rental didn't have any figure skates big enough for her). She loved skating with hockey skates, so we have to buy her some this winter. She has vowed never to wear figure skates again. Not the Canadiens, but an ice hockey related story for you....
Oh, and I been considering changing my name to 4_toed_foot... What do you think? Should I?
:crutch:This is me after a morning of running....

Hey Mamma!!!! Um...let me see...you're a singing crab named Sebastian? Does this mean that you're crabby today?:angryfire
PrincessOrual 05-30-2006, 12:58 PM Sean, The graves are rather fun. I'll send you the picture as soon as I get it. I made my sister take it specifically for you. :jump1:
Tiki, honestly, I'd imagine that to. I did imagine myself living there. :serenade: And, I must say, the house Juliet lived in for that movie has long been a part of my architectural daydreams. The balcony, the interior courtyard. Michael York... Oh, wait, that's not a building. Anyway, there are so many places that I dream of that if I ever did get to build a dream house it would end up being houses, and in different parts of the world.
Okay, weird question, but did anyone else see Gladiator? There is a color palette that I love in that movie, it comes up when Maximus is dying. It's the picture of the wall surrounding Elysium, the door, the wall, the earth and the sky. I LOVE that palette. I watched the movie again last night and paused for 10 minutes just on that first vision of Elysuim.

Cool. In honor of that, I'll climb this fire escape....Slowly....
Teeks, I've always loved religious bauble. I've always meant to get a good shrine going someday. But who would be worthy? Little Walter? Edith Massey? There are just too many worthies to choose from!

'C--I can't say exactly what part you mean until I watch again but the filters and junk in that movie looked really nice. Not annoying like "Traffic".

Hmmm...I don't know who would be worthy...for me? Ummm...let me think a sec...
Okay. There are too many. So, I think that my shrine will simply be a place for me to go and sit in front of all my religious bauble and just be inspired for a little while. I'll hang some great artwork (mine mixed in with some prints by the masters), burn some candles and incense, leave some food and beverages around....hey! Wait! I just described my entire house!!! Hunh! I'm in a living shrine. Yay! I forgot to add my egyptian statues to the list I posted earlier. I have a few that I bought and of course, I can't forget the giant Anubis that I made some years ago. The most recent addition to the egyptian collection is an ancient ankh amulet that Hubby bought at an auction. It's made of faience and it's really cool...it was a real find!
'Cess...I have to watch Gladiator again to see what you mean. You know what would be a good idea? A nice little outside shrine on the garden wall like the ones that they have in Italy. I loved them. Beautiful with flowers and food left for the Saints. Hmmm...I want to go back.
100%
Oh that's waaaaay to funny. You should change your name to that.

It's the part of the movie when Commodus and he are fighting at the end of the movie, Maximus has just pounded Commodus, Commodus loses his sword, Maximus drops his, then he sees the wall, the door and the sky. It's the part in his head.
LadyEmm13 05-30-2006, 01:30 PM I was actually wrong? How can that be? I'm never wrong!

Onyx2201 05-30-2006, 08:40 PM Well I feel so left out, although Alia and I had a great chat on gmail this afternoon. I spent my day slaving over a new web page for next year. Now if I could just find the software I have at school and put it on my laptop then I could continue to use it and really feel like I know the program instead of feeling like I've only been introduced!

Onyx2201 06-01-2006, 12:57 AM Why won't anyone tell me what a chocolate jimmie is??
you_gonna_eat_that 06-01-2006, 02:08 AM Really? Is "jimmie" a regional word? (It's a sprinkle that tops ice cream.) Do we have any more regional words amongst us? What does everyone use as a generic word for carbonated beverages? We say "soda" here.
By the way, 4 Toesees, spell "Norfolk", please, (as in Norfolk, Mass.) as one would say it. Down here we say "Nawfhk." If you don't think that you're cursing when you say it then you aren't doing it right. ;)

Yes Virginia ther are Regional Words
You say "soda", Midwesterners say "pop" , "Nawfhk" is a good exaple I learned how to say it close to the way you spelled it but with more ephasis on the curse pronunciation by a sailor who was stationed there LOL
BTW I say soda if I have to be really generic, usually I say Coke to be generic about soda though- wonder what region that makes me???
I went out last night and was able to listen to REAL Irish people talk- was in almost heaven- almost b/c they were not in kilts- drat it all! but I did get them to speak Gaelic- not that it was anything I could repeat in company once they translated LOL
you_gonna_eat_that 06-01-2006, 10:20 AM " I went out last night and was able to listen to REAL Irish people talk"
I bet it was way better than the time you listened to fake Irish people talk. :p

Yes...Jimmie must be a regional word. Yesterday, I was going to make fun of those who say "sprinkles" but I thought better of it.
Hmmm...I believe my pronunciation of Norfolk would be phonetically spelled like this...Norfuk. Unlike most New Englanders, I do pronounce my "r's". I have no idea why. I always thought it strange that we say "Wusster" when referring to the city of Worcester, MA. Oh...and we say Conneticut instead of CONNECTicut.
For the record...I do say soda for any generic carbonated beverage. My Dad grew up in Missouri and he called it "tonic".
What else? We say "grinders" or "subs", not heroes.

:hypocrit: Dernittall ye gots me there ye bleedin amadon! Yup it was way better than listening to the ones that TRY to portray an accent and get it all screwed up, I was still mighty diappointed that they had no kilts, although they did offer to take me home and cook supper for me.:rolleye1: Like I'm THAT dumb 'cook supper, look at etchings.. uh huh........
how do I get a picture???? I like 'Cess and Onyx' pictures....
There is another regional thing- breakfast lunch and dinner vs. breakfast dinner and supper.
Onyx2201 06-01-2006, 12:17 PM So jimmies are just chocolate sprinkles?? If so then I get it.
People down here call the Mardi Gras city Nawlins and people not from here call it New Or-Lee-Uns.

People that are not from here call the city just south of us Kiss-a-me, :kisss: and it is kah-si-mee (spelled Kissimmee) . We also (those who live here) call that place that attracts lots of wanna be princesses the Tragic Kingdom or the Mouse House
I do not want to be here, I want summer vacation !!!!!!!:book:

PrincessOrual 06-01-2006, 02:44 PM I'm finally getting in here. It's been a week I tell you, a week!
Okay, we've established that jimmies are those little chocolateish flavored mouse turd looking things that you put on top of ice cream or, even better sometimes, press onto the sides of a cake.
I say soda.
Pancake.
Nawfuk
Conneticut
Nawlins
Does anyone say: Warsh?
Here's a thing: I was watching a documentary on the battle of Gaugamela, between Alexander and Darius the Persian. Write out how you say Darius for me, cause they all said it wrong, unless the pronunciation has changed recently. I always said Dah-REE-uhs, now it's supposedly Duh-RYE-uhs. I don't get it. When did that one change?

My personal school lunch favorite was the chicken/gravy concoction served over white rice so stiff and gooey that it had to be placed on the tray with an ice cream scoop. Yuk! I also seem to remeber some foil wrapped hamburgers and cheeseburgers that were a very unusal color for meat. Gray...
Oh, and bye the way...you can't really see my avatar very well, but that's Vincent Price playing the keyboard....I think Shag is so funny.
