View Full Version : New Alvar Hanso?
andros69 05-14-2006, 03:26 PM Ok, at the risk of seriously trouting myself here, I would like to ask, has anybody seen who's behind Alvar Hanso on the homepage?
Today, after being completely bored on Sunday I thought I print to PDF the flash movie of the homepage, and nothing new was behind the video (as I thought there was for a moment) so I kept moving elements on the page when, lo and behold, there was a picture of someone behind the familiar grainy photo of Alvar Hanso! and I'm like, wtf? Did I miss this before being mentioned?
Now, am I getting excited over nothing or did I just stumble upon something??
I would upload the pic, but don't have were to. The alternative is for you to try it out... print the flash pice (not the page) to PDF by right-clicking on it, and then when the pdf is created, you can move elements around (with Acrobat pro) using the touch up tool. If anyone tells me where I could upload the pic, I'll do so.

But, if I'm just telling old news, let me know and I'll hold back my enthusiasm...lol

Nothing wrong with enthusiasm. Keep it coming.
Both your links took me to login screens, so I;ve no idea what you're talking about.
You can upload pics free at http://imageshack.us/ and people don't need to log in to see them.
Anthony Kinson 05-14-2006, 06:35 PM links just take me to login pages, i would be interested to see tho as i dont have acrobat reader pro
andros69 05-14-2006, 06:51 PM I updated the link above, hopefully this will work for people without needing logins.
Patstar 05-14-2006, 06:58 PM Holy shit!
Nice work there!
Anthony Kinson 05-14-2006, 07:00 PM thanks it works now :)
it is very interesting.. i've not read about it anywhere before..
muriarte 05-14-2006, 08:44 PM New to me too, did you find anything else?...
Two thumbs up fo you Andros69!
Molicious 05-14-2006, 09:17 PM very cool. very!
paradox 05-14-2006, 10:58 PM Wow! Very nice work Andros, and thanks for adding the link. An actual pic of Hanso where we can see what he really looks like? So cool.
eta: at least I'm assuming it is Hanso, at this point, of course we don't know anything for sure. :)
Simplist 05-15-2006, 12:15 AM thanks for the hard work... really cool
andros69 05-15-2006, 10:41 PM There are a number of hidden things in the flash "pages" if you look at the pages after printing to PDF. Here are some of the things I've found:
1. hidden EOI logo behind the "mha" logo in the mission statement page
2. missing words ("Zambia", "More Soon", and "Steevo") in the MFI project page.
3. "placeholder" photo of Peter Thmson under Liddy Wale's "?"
4. MHA man's photo behind Joop's text.
5. Hidden text entry area next to Joop's hand (to the right of it) in the one where he's hanging on the edge of the page.
Like I said, these as far as I know have been discovered before, here here you go!
eckinlighter 05-15-2006, 11:44 PM Heh, wow, that's a good find.
...Should we recognize this guy in the picture?

1. hidden EOI logo behind the "mha" logo in the mission statement page
EOI is likely to stand for "Educational Outreach Imperative" (appears twice in the fine print below the logos on the mission statement page.)
Perhaps this is something that changed names (in story) for Public Relations reasons. There was a comment of that nature in the phone message transcripts about other Hanso activities. See Option 4 http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=47493
carodeluxe 05-16-2006, 01:48 AM He looks JUST LIKE an older Zeke.
threefifteen 05-16-2006, 02:38 AM Hmm... I printed the excutive bios page into pdf and i moved alvar hanso's picture but there was nothing behind. This is what i got...

KFR42 05-16-2006, 02:48 AM Could anyone give a quick guide on how to print to PDF and look at these? I have a PDF printer installed, but I cant move objects around because the PDF is just a 'printing' of it, not actual objects. Thanks.
LaughingMan 05-16-2006, 06:11 AM That is an amazing find. And it really looks like it could be him! This is just too cool.

1.right click on the page itself then click print
2.choose Adobe PDF as the printer option and it should print the flash site into a pdf file
3.once the pdf file has been created, use the "TouchUp Object Tool" (in the menu bar, select tools->advance editing->TouchUp Object Tool) to move the objects/pictures around.
I did that and i didn't see the photo of the "new" alvar hanso behind the original pic.:confused:
Edit: I did find the picture of Peter Thompson behind Liddy Wales "?" though

threefifteen 05-16-2006, 07:24 AM This is the picture (as andros69 (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/member.php?u=41583) pointed out) behind the "?" where Liddy Wales' photo should be.
http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/1279/liddywales5vi.jpg
so is that Liddy Wales or Peter Thompson?
andros69 05-16-2006, 10:37 AM FYI, the picture I referred to in the first post was behind the photo of Alvar in the Television Ad page, not in the homepage. My bad.
If you look closely, you can see there's the hidden photo sticking out slightly above Hanso's. You don't see this in other photos.

I can definitely confirm you, just looked it up myself, the picture is there. So know we know what Hanso looks like. Great find, maybe even the biggest find on the Lost Experience yet, congrats to you !

Ah ok, thanks, I assume you need a specific version of adobe acrobat to be able to print to PDF as that printer option isnt available to me.
QuinceTheCarpenter 05-16-2006, 02:59 PM For those of you with the print to PDF / move objects around and look behind them capability, I have a question ... (some may find this pointless, no problem) ...
I am curious about the big green spheres that decorate the background. You can move them around (five arrangements total) by clicking a little invisible box near the lower left corner of a full screen view.
My theories are that
1. they are just decoration or ...
2. they move around because they sometimes cover or reveal something that shows up in the border (such as the "sdsdsd" that you see flashed in the left margin when you "sign in" on the newsletter page) or ...
3. they form some kind of geometric pattern that may be of interest
In order to check out 3, I wonder if you could get and take screen shots of each of the 5 arrangements of the spheres, with all the other content moved out of the way?
Thanks.
Peephole 05-16-2006, 04:58 PM So is that picture stock footage or what?

Haha no wonder I couldn't find the hidden photo. I tried it a few times but couldn't find it.... i was starting to think u were fooling us. :p
Great find! I'll also like to point out that behind the hidden photo there's a hidden "?" (like the one of Liddy Wales).

Because you requested and because I have NOTHING better to do ;) Here are some images of the THF.org background.....
All 5 arrangements (http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/6345/hansobg2el.jpg)
Removing each sphere layer at a time (http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/7253/hansobgx8dt.jpg)
There are 3 different sphere layers and as far as i can see, they aren't hiding any information behind them. I think they are solely for decorative purposes only.

In the arrangments of spheres you posted, I am a little confused.
If I number them as:
top row left to right (1, 3, 5)
bottom row left to right (2, 4)
Then arrangements 2, 3 and 4 appear identical in your image.
Could you check this and also confirm the order and orientation of the images matches the website? (if you have time, if not, thanks for what you have done already)
I think it is probably true that these are just decorative, but the selection may work in combination with another clue or password to unlock some future part of the site - or to reveal or cover something displayed around the margins.

Arrangement 2, 3 and 4 are indeed identical! LOL that's what happens when u try to do too many things at a time, sorry my bad. I've edited the image to show the correct sequence/arrangements (http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/3530/hansobg0kl.jpg). I think it's correct now.
Yep Sphere 1 is a composite of several spheres but they're all on the same (one) image. I'm not too sure about your tetrahedral theory, it seems more like a random pattern to me but good luck in finding clues from it. Cheers!

It initializes to what you call image 5. Then cycles through 1, 2, 3, 4, and back to 5 again. I was kind of hoping there might be some hidden pattern to the geometry, but I don't see any off-hand.
