i don't know if this has come up before or if it has any relevance, but Heir Apparent is a book by Vivian Vande Velde about a girl who gets stuck in a virtual reality game, Heir Apparent. What do you guys think?

I don't recall seeing it mentioned, and I'd remember a name like that. (VVV)

Don't worry, the TPTB have made it clear that Lost is very real. No dream or VR stuff.

Still I wonder what VR has to do with The Lost Experience.

I was thinking interesting in more of a metaphoric sense, not literally being VR.
I agree that it would be a disappointing cop-out as the actual plot, though I did think of it previously as a possible theory a while back.

Still I wonder what VR has to do with The Lost Experience. The lost Experience is classified under the description ARG or Alternate Reality Gaming.

Since the "alternate reality" is fictional, it could be said to be make believe, not real, artificial, an emulation of reality.

Something which can be summed up with one word - Virtual.
