please, look at this map...where you see "the pearl?" off to the right, that is telling us that they have not found the pearl yet.

The Pearl, the hatchish room just found in the episode TITLED "?", IS the ? on the map. It would be completely foolish for them to call the episode ? and introduce a hatch that was NOT the ? on the map.

So seriously, enough of this "Pearl is not the ?" talk...it is...please, try not to speculate while using a statement like that. The Pearl is the ?...end of story.

P.S. sorry if this seems snappy or whatever, but I'm tired of opening threads and seeing everyone saying "The Pearl is DEFINITELY NOT the ?" siting the blast door map as a source for that belief. The Blast Door Map does NOT show a location for The Pearl...it shows that the Pearl was never located. Locke and Ecko found the Pearl....which IS the ? on the map. Now...feel free to speculate with THAT in mind.

lol. I've been trying to convince those who don't think the ? is the Pearl for ever. Considering both G. Nations and Damon have both said the '?" is the Pearl. But, I haven't been successful, and don't think I'll ever be. That said, it still is fun reading about all these theories.

It's "citing" not "siting." If you're going to rant it's best to be grammatically correct.

I totally agree. The ? on the map is the pearl, however, I do have a feeling that Locke and Eko may have acted irrationally and not explored the entire station. I personally think there's more to the Pearl/? than we know. But that's just me.

when did damon say the ? was the pearl......and can we see this statement plz. also everyone is entitled to their thoughts. and even i still think if the ? is the pearl then thats just sad, very sad, that big thing in the middle, looking like something so crazy and important turns out to just be that of all things. and yes technically there were 2 other "?"s on the map look closely at the right side hatches. it says"the pearl?", by the c4? and also in between c4 and c3.. it says "why so many dharmatels relays in such an untentable location?", probably meaning why so many cables or something of communication in that area. which is one reason why people might think this theory of it not being the big "?". just my 2 cents.. and serously if thats the big "?", well im obsessed w this show i eat sleep and even talk all day about lost at work, my girl thinks i like it betr then her, lol, but like i was saying if thats teh big "?", then thats just disapointing, thought it be something bigger and better then that, no wonder ratings are so low and didnt even make top 10 shows again, we need j.j. back or something to help out, i dont want this show ending anytime soon. :(

I don't want to sound snappy either, but I'm tired of opening threads and seeing things like, "The Pearl is the ?...end of story." How about we just keep an open mind on this? The fact is, extensive debate has led to legitimate arguments both ways. The comments from Mr. Nations and Mr. Lindelof are open to interpretation, as neither of them specifically stated that the "?" on the blast door map is the Pearl (station).

I happen to be in the "Blast door map central '?' is not the Pearl" camp, but I do not assert this as a proven fact, nor have I in other posts. I willingly admit that I could be wrong. I see your point about posts being a bit annoying that proclaim the matter is closed, when it isn't. Ironically, yours is one of them. So let's just agree to disagree until TPTB resolve it once and for all.

Don't you think this is a given, seeing as how the bunker they found was located at the dot at the bottom of the question mark?

Don't you think this is a given, seeing as how the bunker they found was located at the dot at the bottom of the question mark?

The bottom line is if a person chooses to believe something (the ? is not The Pearl, or Henry os not an Other) then they will. Lost is not going to take the time to have a character come out and say "ok, see that question mark... I drew that Specifically about The Pearl station where you two were earlier". The writers just write, assume we catch on and then move on to something else.

monstereatsthepilot, I understand your frustration... but the theory isn't going anywhere. Really, all we can do if we believe that particular question has already been answered is just not read those posts that suggest that it hasn't and move on.

*applause*

Since when is debate a bad thing? Just because one person considers "the matter closed" doesn't mean we all have to agree on that assessment. I haven't yet decided which one I believe, so I will continue to open threads on this subject.

However, I do believe that in a show like LOST, there are few absolutes. So just because someone declares that there is no ambiguity doesn't mean it's so--it just means that that person believes there's no room for debate. So perhaps he or she shouldn't debate--but should leave others to the joy that debating can bring.

Btw, as a proud member of Pedants Anonymous ;) may I also applaud the person who wrote:

So...for your first post you come up with that? When posting for the first time on a site...it is best to not get off on the wrong foot with the other posters and the MODS..I suggest you read the site rules about being rude.

And second...telling others to take a nap? If you have nothing more to add to the conversation...don't add anything especially something baiting like that...also suggest reading the site rules.

Thank you.

Oops. Sorry, Baileysdad. I shouldn't have jumped on that particular bandwagon. The trouble is...when it comes to bad grammar, sometimes I just can't help myself. *g*

It's "citing" not "siting." If you're going to rant it's best to be grammatically correct.

If you would like to be technical, the use of contractions is frowned upon by any educated professor and/or writer.

aI agree. WE clearly saw the "?" when Eko was on the cliff, and there was salt or something to make the "?" so someone had to put it there. SO that means there is a reason it is there, and it is not something esle.

I accept the fact that I could be wrong, but I still think that the ? is not the Pearl Station. I talk about it in my blog...though I'd probably get a barrage of "It IS the Pearl" statements...you can check it out if you want.

Okay, seriously bro, I read your little blog...and you're not getting what I'm saying. What I am saying is that that notation of "The Pearl?" is not referring to that bunker on the right...It is referring to the cartographer's questioning the location of the pearl. This could imply that the cartographer KNOWS there IS a Pearl, but has not found it. I dont know why people are assuming that because "the pearl?" is written on the right side of the map that it is referring to that station. It doesnt make ANY sense for this episode to be titled "?" if they didn't find the ?. Seriously peeps. It's just silly to think that. IMO

Dude, absolutely agree! Think about it; let's have a question mark which sparks serious interest and then a few shows later have an episode titled ? and then find out it's NOT about the original question mark.....!??!?!!?
That just doesn't make any sense to me!!!

well it seems the station in the middle has tunnels ocnnecting it to each one and that it is the hub for all of them. if that is the case where are the people in the pearl sending their notebook? it cant be off the island. also the pearl is station 5 of 6 wouldnt the one and their are 6 station around the 7th one in the center. this owuld likely mean the pearl is one of the two unnamed ones which are sketched in in dotted lines. also on the map next to c3 it says "why so many Dahrmatel relays in such and untenable location?" Darhmatel elays seem like thay could be massages sent through that tube.
