I think you're probably right but I'm still not so sure.

As for the boat ... I think it might be Desmond's but I think when Jack reaches it, he'll find it's empty. No reason why Desmond would be in it from what we've seen and heard about the finale.

No, it is not Desmond. The nose, mouth and head-shape are totally different from Desmond's. If you look at photos of Desmond and of that man, you will see the differences. Sorry, close, but no cigar.:smoke:
