View Full Version : "They'll Never Give You Walt"
Navigatrix 05-18-2006, 03:34 PM If Michael would just tell them what is going on, or if Jack and Sayid would just confront him with their suspicions ... they could piece it together ...
Michael ... "They told me that if I do these things, they would give me Walt."
Jack ... "Then it is a set-up. Henry told us that they would never give up Walt, when I tossed out the idea of using Henry as a trade for Walt."
Michael ... "Damn ... well that big guy with the beard looked like he was really calling the shots ... "
Jack ... "According to Henry, that guy is 'nothing'"
(All together): ... "Then let's figure out how to get over there and take Walt from them."
Madge 05-18-2006, 03:40 PM I said something like this in another thread. I get that Michael just wants his son back, but if he had told them what he was sent to do and they worked together then he would be being such a scummy turncoat. I wonder if this is part of a test of Michael's character.

See this would require the Losties talking to each other about things...
Does anyone else notice that something important happens to a character and they think "Oh thats crazy...I shouldn't tell anyone though".
Kate and Claire find the medical hatch and don't tell anyone for days.
Locke and Eko find the "Pearl" and don't tell anyone.
What's the deal here folks? If I was on an island where crazy shit was always happening, I'd tell everyone and have everyone think/work on the problem.

Then he flunked it. He's bad bad bad. I thought for sure he killed AL because he was ordered to and Libby was a mistake. Even then I didn't like it, but he's gone from bad to worse. What a creep!

Which would lead to the question,
"Do what things Michael?"
"Oh, just freeing their buddy and getting some of you to walk into a trap"
"So you freed Henry, Michael? What about killing Ana-Lucia and Libby?"
"Uhhhhhhhh...ummmmm..."

I hate that about these characters. And they certainly don't ask questions like I would.

True ... but I think Michael is about to break. If he had some kind of sickness and that is what led him to do the killings ... or if he was under some kind of mind control ... then that would be one thing. But that he made the decision to do it for the purpose of saving Walt leaves open the possibility that he is dealing with tremendous remorse, which even in the face of being willing to do ANYTHING to get Walt back, will soon take its toll on him as a human being.
I mean, he is essentially just about to lead 4 people to their demises ... and again, given that there is no underlying sickness or mind control in place ... I just don't think he is purely evil enough to do it ... I really think he is going to fess up ..... and enlist everyone's help in getting Walt back.

No kidding!
This has driven me nuts throughout the series!!
then there's Locke and Boone keeping the hatch a secret...
Locke not telling anyone about Henry attacking Ana...
Locke omitting that he saw Eko fall when mentioning his dream...
(ok, yes, I have some big issues with Locke withholding info!)
Keeping Henry a secret from everyone outside of "the club"...
and a thousand other things.
Sheesh, speak the truth, Losties!!
digitalash 05-18-2006, 04:10 PM I think one of the reasons Michael is so adamant about leaving so quickly was the fact that he didn't want Jack to figure out his plot. He saw the opportune moment to capitalize in his mission when he was given the gun by AL; not only will her death exclude all types of rational reason, it will perpetuate an act of revenge or bloodlust.
When Michael found out about Sayid, he was taken aback. He probably sat down for a moment and thought about what he was going to say to convince Sayid to stay at base. When Michael used the fact that Sayid will jepordize the mission due to his desire of retribution, Sayid quickly struck that belief down, leaving Micahel to circulate back to the one reason he's been using: "he's my boy!" I like to think that Michael is pissing in his pants right now, cause he knows that people like Sayid would want to sit down and figure everything out. Those who were directly effected (those in the hatch) are fortunately, for Michael at least, the people that the others want anyway.
homsar 05-18-2006, 06:49 PM Oh, if I had a drink for each time Michael shouted WAAAAALT or said my boy--I would be drunk for days.
