It was not Kate's dad. He was on the truck with Kelvin, but was not Kelvin. Go back and watch Sayid's epi.

Not Kate's dad.. he was the guy that gave Sayid the "tools" to be a torturer and sent him in to get information from the Iraqi officer...

Kate’s father is Sam Austen. That was Kelvin (aka Joe) Inman.

haha okay okay, my bad haha...i just remembered him more from Sayids ep and thought it was he that showed the pic of young kate...


it woulda been pretty interesting to say the least.

Yep, I've only seen the first half of tonight's epi, but I recognized him right away. Kelvin is the "agent" who seems so mysterious in the episode entitled "One of Them".

There are several others, but it's the same guy.

On a side note, as I saw the yellow suits running around, the first thing I thought of was "who's gonna be behind the mask?" Needless to say, this guy certainly wasn't my first guess.

You know I think it has finally reached the point where everyone is so interconnected that I'm starting to get everyone mixed up!

yeah, i recognized him right away but couldn't place him; it was my mother who thought that he was Kate's dad

If he was I don’t think Kelvin would have used a fake last name, and he’d know Sam Austin’s last name.

Not likely... Sgt. Austen just happened to cross paths with Sayid and Kelvin Inman in Iraq. Odd if they both had been in Iraq as Military and Intelligence officers on same mission and then end up in a hatch secluded on a god-knows-where-island.

And this guy killed himself years ago...way before Desmond was brought to hatch. My guess... at least 8 years ago...1998. Maybe long enough to loose it down there. Kelvin said the man was called Ryczinski. He did the UV painting on blast doors.

After gulf war (1992) Kelvin joined Dharma, and Desmond had been in hatch for 3 years. The plane crashed 2004... meaning that somewhere after 1992 and before 2001.

I think the Marshall told Jack he had been chasing Kate for 2 years.
So if Kate talked to her supposed Army dad at recruitment office only 6 months before the crash and her running off to Australia, he wasnt the guy that put the shotgun in his mouth.

And so far no one has lied about their real names except the Others.
Sawyer only kept his real name hidden. But they found out.
