Yay!! Thanks for the welcomes in the last thread.

just wanted to share a story.

Last May at Outdoor Lab I met this boy, and he was really nice. He talked to me, and stuff like that. So, in....October, from my science teacher, I got his e-mail address. I wrote to him, and he wrote back twice. That was it. I wrote back, seriously, like 7 times. But I never heard from him. So, so much for that!:drowsy:

Ok.. sooo.. I go away for a few hours and I MISS the opening of the bright, sparkly new ship?????? UGH! I was sooo sad!! Well.. Welcome ladies..... I will join you on the Chaise (which I knew the identity of) with ata margarita... andddd I will gladly have a margarita...(which I am very familiar with those)!! MMmmmmMM:) Sooo nice to have a new ship!:) Welcome Me Kate.. as official advice lady of the thread.. I'd suggest backing off a bit... because I have known guys who have been interested in me, and have not emailed me back for several days... even weeks! Guys are wierd like that!!!! Think that maybe his internet has gone down, and hasnt been able to email you! Do you see him at school? Try talking to him at school.. feel things out! Wait a lonnnng while.. atleast several weeks to email him again... and then be like.."Haven't seen ya or heard from ya in awhile so I thought i'd write :)" Be casual.. act like it's no big deal... play hard to get:) Hope my advice comes in handy:)

stef-yeah that's why i said as long as you both want to try. still i think those books might help you out. one gives advice on how to do it if it's just you trying. oh and i wasn't saying that for you to move to the west side just because i care too much about people and hat divorce and the pain it brings though now i'm sure it doesn't feel too good either. well whatever you do, i'll be praying for you, your hubby and the baby.

i'm moving to the norfolk area. my honey's in the navy and that's where he's stationed.

I made choc chip cookies instead of dinner. Great minds think alike...

Hey all btw... I took my short person to the doctor today. They didn't really know what to say so they are having us eat really bland food and staying away from restaurants for the next two weeks to see if that "breaks the cycle". Then we'll go back for a follow up.

After the appt. she wanted us to make choc chip cookies "homemade from scratch" so we did... but when I put in the eggs she almost lost it. *sigh*

Ok.. so Aydan and I still haven't got back into our normal routine.. we are still on west coast time! We just woke up at 11!! I feel horrible sleeping this late! I keep telling myself that I will wake up at 8 and get him up, but it doesn't happen! Hubby and I only have on alarm clock so he uses it to get up for work in the morning! I rarely wake up when he gets up, so waking up to set it is almost impossible too! I hate going to bed at 1 am and wake up this late! It is a beautiful day out and I feel like I have slept most of it away:( Yesterday aydan woke up at 10... and I didnt let him have his nap, hoping that he'd go to sleep early and wake up early. He decided to wait till 11 to go to sleep last night.. so he didnt wake up till 11 this morning! Anyone deal with this jet lag before? Any ideas of how to fix this screwed up schedule!?

The dip recipe looks finger lickin' good:) I am hungry for breakfast too guana girl.. so please pass me a sausage, cheese, tomato, onion and green pepper omlette:) Have any hash browns to go with it? Oh.. and a Mamosa.. those look heavenly.. and what is this creamcheese blue berry breakfast you talk about? MmmmMMmmm:)

Hey Stef...*hands her ice cold mimosa*... I will have to bring the recipe to work with me for the Blueberry Cream Cheese Breakfast bake with a blueberry maple syrup on top....oh it is Soooo yummy !!

And its one of those egg bake things you make the day before and let sit in the fridge over night, I love those because they are great for when you have company... its pretty and yummy and easy because all the work is done ahead of time !! (:

How could I forget the hashbrowns....coming right up !!

Eggs blackstone is like eggs benedict only instead of canadian bacon there is a tomato slice and there is crispy crumbled bacon on top !!! I actually like it better than benedict (love tomatoes!)

NORFOLK.... YAY..... well... not really.. haha.. im just saying.. my hubby was in the army stationed in Newport News! The Norfolk area is ok.. is some parts:) Are u going to live on base? It's better on base! It's all better on base! I really am not a fan of the whole east coast of virginia, its a little too...... city for me:) I hope you enjoy it there though!!!
no, he didn't want to live on base, but we're going to be near the base. well as near as we can. i like the city, but i like the small town feel. there's a little city here in AZ called prescott. it's awesome cuz it has everything that's great about a city, but has that small town feel. i hope to me there once he's out of the navy.

I think Norfolk is better in some ways than where I lived in Newport News! We lived near base, but around the base was a more.. poor area.. and usually with a poor area you have a different type of people. I don't want to sound mean, but there was more crime, and more noise.. and more..... ghetto-ness! I am glad I am out of there.. but now where we live it is sooooooo expensive.. but no crime to speak of! Keep me up to date one whats happening in the Norfolk area.. i'd love to know:)

"Maria. I just met a girl named Maria, and suddenly that name will never be the same to me. Maria. I just kissed a girl named Maria, and suddenly I've found how wonderful a sound can be. Maria. Say it loud and there's music playing. Say it soft and it's almost like praying. Maria. I'll never stop saying Maria."

Hey gals... I am sooooooooo bored! I am always bored! I got up at 11 because I am still sooo messed up from the time change.. still.. and it's been almost a week! Anyway.. hubby is still asleep... whats up with that? Sleeping till 11 isn't long enough? I want to go out.. go to the park with the baby.. go to the mall... just go somewhere... anywhere... other than sitting here in the apartment another day! The weekends usually run together with the rest of the week.. and that's not cool! I used to look forward to the weekend.. now it's just like any other day.. instead of hubby being at work.. he is in the bedroom with the door shut.. either sleeping or playing his video game! He doens't like going anywhere.. he says it's the state that we live in, but I don't believe that for ONE second! I shouldn't have to move all the way across the country to get my hubby to go to the mall with me. UGH.... I'm bored.. I need friends so I dont have to rely on my husband to do things with me!

When we lived in Newport News I had the greatest friend ever! She was sooooo helpful... and so kind! She was a stay at home mom that lived in the same apartment complex as me... so we spent all our time together during the week! She had a 2 1/2 year old and was very busy trying to take care of him and get everything done in the house that she needed to get done! I would go over to her house.. and watch her son while she ran out to do her laundry... or needed 10 minutes to do the dishes or take a shower! She would do the same thing for me. It was awesome! We went to the gym together... we felt good getting a break from the kids... having an ADULT conversation.. and at the same time we were improving our bodies.. and we felt hot! Now... hubby and I had to move.. and here I am... bored.... feeling like I weighth a million pounds because I never get out of the house... the couch and the tv... and the internet (because of you guys;)) are my best friends! When I lived there.. .I didnt realize how crappy my marriage was because I had a friend to distract me:) When hubby wouldnt spend time with me... I'd call her.. she'd come over.. or I'd go over there! When I left... it was the best because we had a girl night in my living room:) We drank Miller Light and backed corn bread! I know it sounds wierd.. but we both LOVE corn bread. I MISS HER:( :( :( :(

sorry that I always rant to you guys.... I guess I do this when there isn't anyone here to deal with my girlie girlie complaining ways:) Thanks for all of you who listened to me whine and complain:) Just getting it out makes me feel better... thanks:)

I have a friend who wants to be a professional organizer.. and she is actually working this summer with a company who does such things! She loves to come over and organize Aydans closet and drawers:) She's silly like that!

I just went shopping today... I didnt have much money, but I went anyway! I wanted clothes.. but didn't have enough money for that.. so I went and bought a bra (hehe) at Target.. great and cheap place to buy bras! I also bought a new wallet because mine is too big for my purse! It's cute.. small.. and brown:) I also went to the $1 section.. at the front of the store.. and got some super cute earrings and several little scrap booking items! I only spent like 20 something bucks.. but I loved going out and searching for stuff:) It made me happy:)

DM.. I would defenitly clean this weekend while u have time.. because once you start work I am sure you wont have much time!! Also.. the book thing was a good idea! Just take a nice bath at night... then curl up in bed with a good book:) It is a great way to end the night:)

Is there an organization in town that knows about women getting together for playdates and such. Then at least you can get out and start making friends. I'm not sure if the Welcome Wagon, or if there is such a thing there, would have such information. I bought a new top today at the SuperStore a t-shirt made out of that new really soft cotton. Wellllll...... you asked what I am up too... right now I am sitting down eating icecream (cappuccine flavoed... tastes more like khalua.. MMmmmMMMMMmmmm) Anyway... so... im eating icecream watching a re-run of CSI. I hate this episode... it makes me sad... it's about a baby that was left in a car too long in the summer heat! Speaking of which... the next to mine at the mall today was surrounded by mall security people today as I was coming out of hte mall! Turns out... this family had locked thier baby in thier car! I heard the woman say that the keys were in the trunk (I am assuming that they unlaoded their packages into the trunk and accidentally dropped thier keys in the trunk! Before I go Aydan loaded into the car and the few things I bought... fire and rescue had showed up and had pryed(?) the door open and freed the baby! It wasn't tooooo hot out today, but when I got in my car and buckled my belt I just sat there for a minute, to really understand that the heat on the outside of the car is nothing like the heat on the inside of the car! Anywayyyy.. my whole point for eating icecream like a mad woman is.. no shock.. my hubby! He keeps saying stuff like.."when we move to Washington." and I hate that... because he doesn't discuss it.. he just tells me! Anyway... I approached him about it, and it only made him mad.... and we argued.. so.. that is why I am hear scarfing down khalua flaved icecream wishing that it really had khalua in it!MMmmmMM:) What is everyone else up to?? :D :D (I am not crazy.... see... I am not crazy) :D :D

One of a kind he is. Whats everyone up to? I'm trying to win a game of mahjong, the hockey game is on in the background. I'm too lazy to get up and change the channel.

hmmm... let's see... I just played a game of "go fish" with the kid and then she wanted to play "show and tell" which means she gives me one of her toys and then she scrounges up a toy and then we take turns telling each other about it. It's kind of funny because I was sharing about this happy meal toy she has which is practically her prized possesion. But I go into all this detail about it color and she had clipped a barette onto it and crammed a Barbie crown on it's head. Then she wanted a snack before bed but then gagged at the thought of eating *sigh* so she just went to bed.

Now hubby is studying so I'm figuring out what ot do next.

Clean? No way.
Eat? Tempting... but not sure. I think stef may have gotten the ice cream calling to me though. I have ice cream sandwiches in the freezer.

myothercarisflight815
06-11-2006, 06:25 PM
Yeah. It's puzzling. We took her to the doctor and although she is puzzled too... the good news is that she has gained weight since her last visit so it's not affecting her growth. She's eating... and she hasn't lost it for a week or so but it almost seems to me like at first it was the smells... but now she feels anxious on top of it, so I'm getting a bunch of snacky kid food for her this afternoon and hopefully we'll change the pattern from...

meal... anxiety

man I'm starving!... where's the food

Geometry isn't too bad. I don't mind it as much as other things we have to do in algebra. like transformations. My parents never had to learn that!!!!! I ask my mom" Did you ever have to learn such and such", and she's like "What the heck is THAT??"

Announcer Dude: Oh I must say that wasn't a very good one, will John get is brownie for complemnting GB? Lets go to Chase with the stats.

Chase:Thank you Announcer Dude, yes well right now it doesn;t look good for John for 2 reasons:

1.His compliment wasn;t all that great

2. He did not compliment her yesturday...I think, and if he did yesturday he forgot one day....i think.

Announcer Dude: Thank you Chase, now that the stats have been said i want to know what you think. Please click here (http://www.freewebs.com/gbpolls/) to cast your vote, but remember 'lagers can say what ever the hell they want, but only GB can decide.

I was thinking... maybe we dont appreciate our fanboys enough...maybe we could give them some "pointers" like each of us say something that the special men in our lives have done for us that makes us happy...

like when my hubby takes the dog out sometimes he comes back and gives me wild flowers that he picked for me .... just a real sweet thought that means a lot...

I do certain things for my hubby hoping that he will get the hint and do them for me... one thing I love to do is put a note somewhere where he will find it before he leaves for work. I usually write something like "love ya babe.... have a great day" something simple and sweet:) I would LOVE to wake up and see a note from him saying something like that! It isn't much... but it means a lot and says.."I was thinking of you... just wanted to let you know:)"

You're the "buddy's friend" right now. So the girl probably feels sort of safe hanging out, talking and even flirting with you. But that's confusing, I know! Girls around your age are verrrrrry confusing, lol. You didn't say if she and your friend are having any problems or not. But in the event they do break up, don't move in too fast or you might threaten your friendship. On the other hand, don't wait long enough for some other guy to move in. I probably didn't help much, lmao. In the meantime, just be the cool guy we know you are. She'll remember that. And you can let her know that you like her in other ways than flat out saying "I like you." A look, etc....she could end up making the decision for you.

GuanaGirlGetsLost
06-11-2006, 10:57 PM
ohhhh... you need to be careful ! If hes your friend, you dont want to hurt him. If shes that comfortable talking with you about everything it sounds like maybe its only a matter of time before she wants to be with you instead of him. I dont know about other girls but I think we girls usually only feel "that" comfortable with a guy we want to be with. So, be patient and it will happen. Do be careful though...could be a sticky situation with your friend.
Good Luck !

HEy all... Goddessblue.... hubby won me over because he used to be sweet!! He was sent to Iraq shortly after we started dating and we got to know each other t hrough letters... then when he got back things moved fast! He was awesomly sweet... now.. he's not so awesomly different!

redsox... lets seeee.....I have a theory... that you need to make yourself happy first.. then worry about other second ( i know this sounds stupid.. .but listen.. my whole life I have tried to make other people happy.. and it never works! Everyone else looks out for themselves.. the only person who will have YOUR back is you!).. as long as it doesnt indanger other people. Now... That doesnt mean that you should go blindly into a situation because it pleases you..Give great consideration to the situation... think about this girl.. think about how much you like her. Will you going farther with that ruin more relationships you have? Will you loose more than you will gain? Weigh your options and think about the outcomes of your actions before you act!

My advice was general... but that's all I can give right now without knowing more about the situation!

exactly that is the probem, -sigh- but they seem to have a great relashonsip, i don;t know wether i be good to mysef or my firneds :\
one-you can't really see exactly what's going on in a relationship from being on the outside. two-just because they have a good relationship now, being so close to her could cause problems in the future.
if i were you i'd tell her to not be so, well lack of a better word, intimate in her conversations with you and if she can't talk to her boyfriend about those things than she needs to find a female to talk to. it'll be hard, i know, but in the long run it would be better.

Aw thanks Red!

I am pretty sure that it is a "man rule" that you do not date your friend's girlfriends. Even if they break up you are supposed to wait for like six months or something. You totally don't want to start drama. It'll give you a bad reputation... but also... you may feel like you are meeting your emotional needs... but you'll be hurting other people too and you don't want to that ... it's also a quick fix to a long term situation. And that just won't be a good situation. Besides, you do not want to encourage the lady in question to start a pattern of dumping boyfrineds. That will not help her learn how to have healthy relationships early on. So um... hold back.
100%
Well ladies... since I fell asleep on the couch earlier... here I am all by my lonesome.

Can't sleep and it's nobody's fault but mine. *sigh*

I got that in an email awhile ago gg... and when I read it I amlost cried... it was soooo sweet!!! :D

Ok... so.. Aydan won't get back to his normal schedule!! He has been taking his naps late in the day.. so then he doesnt want to go to bed until like 11 or 12.. so last night I thought I had the cure... when he went down for his nap (around 7) I put him in his bed and told him night night.. and acted like it was his night time.. not his nap time! Aydan usually sleeps 12 hours.. so if he goes to bed at 12 at night.. he won't wake up till 12 in the morning... 11.. to 11... and so on.. so I thought that by putting him to bed early that he would wake up early... so it should have been 7 to7. Well... this morning hubby leaves for work and I fall back to sleep... and I wake up and I realize that several hours have passed since hubby left (around 7) even though I hadn't looked at the clock. Well.. I roll over and squint.. and it was 11!!!!! 11!!! So I jumped up and went in to get Aydan because HE CAN'T be sleeping this long!!! Soo.... after that.. I have NO idea what to do to get him back to his normal schedule!

GG said to list things that our hubbies can do that are romantic and make us ladies happy so here is another for you guys.... every morning hubby is in a rush getting out of the house and usually doesn't even say bye to me! I have confronted him about this, but he didn't seem to care! I am usually still sleeping when he leaves so he said that he doesnt want to wake me up. Well.. everynow and then when he's feeling nice he will sneak in quietly and give me a bigggg kiss.. big enough that it wakes me up so that he gets credit for it;) Anyway... it's a simple 5 second gesture that lasts the whole day:)

*writes out a note to Red which says*

"John,
Tell GB she looks good in her avi, you'll not only get brownies, but she'll keep her awesome avi up!

Danny"

So speaking of the poem.... was anyone here directly affected by 9/11 or know anyone that passed away in it?

Danny,

I knew 2 people who worked in the building and were in it when it happened (not close friends, they were a year behind me in school but I knew them) they did not make it out. :frown:

GG said to list things that our hubbies can do that are romantic and make us ladies happy so here is another for you guys.... every morning hubby is in a rush getting out of the house and usually doesn't even say bye to me! I have confronted him about this, but he didn't seem to care! I am usually still sleeping when he leaves so he said that he doesnt want to wake me up. Well.. everynow and then when he's feeling nice he will sneak in quietly and give me a bigggg kiss.. big enough that it wakes me up so that he gets credit for it;) Anyway... it's a simple 5 second gesture that lasts the whole day:)
well that's something! i think it's good to focus on the positive things most of the time instead of the negative. it can really change your perspective. like today i got really angry at my man, but i decided i wasn't going to let my anger get the best of me. when i started focusing on the good things instead of what angered me i was able to tell him how i felt without being super angry and able to think about what i was saying before i said it. much better than earlier when i just ranted and raved to him which got him angry at me. things are better now.
well my guy does all sorts of things. most recently he sent me 30 red roses!!!

30 roses... for no reason? Wow... I get a kiss.. and that's it! Hubby is talking about moving to Washington again.... he was saying that he isn't happy because he isn't close to his friends.... or his family. I then told him that I will not be happy moving to Washington away from my friends and family. Anyway... hubby was sulking because he is bored with his life.. he was sitting around complaining.. and he basically said that he is moving... without me................

Our relationship isn't great... .

and moving that far wouldnt do us any good.......

right?????

Things havent been working for so long.... so.....

I just need support ladies.... :(

P.S.......... YAY dm:) Good to go for your first day:) Was it GREAT!!!???

Wow AM. It sounds like you're may find yourself at a crossroads. If he moves forward with his moving plans then you will essentially need to choose to move to WA or back home. Am I right?

Lady J.... I love that line... totally adorable!! I think that all woman sit around and write these things... movies especially.. and here every lady is kept dreaming she had a man like the one she sees portrayed by some dashing young man. Someone who treats her like a lady and gives love, trust, respect and whispers sweet nothings into her ear whenever the moment is right! Each lady dreams of finding someone who will always put her first, and come rescue her just in the nick of time! Someone who will run to the airport right to the gate (despite security issues) and stop you from getting on that plane!! We all dream of a guy who will love our family (despite their crazy nature and wierd habits) just as much as we love our own and they love theirs. Each day we look for some sign that what happens in the movies really exsists... and each day most of us are left knowing, with all certainty, that what happens in the movie really doesn't exsist, despite our yurning for it.

Myothercar... I am most certainly faced with moving to Washington with him.. or home! I am actually thinking of moving back to the college where I went before and going there again. I have wonderful WONDERFUL friends there, that are more like aunties to Aydan, and they have said that they, if I plan my schedule around theirs, that there will always be someone available to watch Aydan for me while I go to school part time.. or work part time! They are renting a house and have a spair room that they didnt plan on using, so they said I can live there rent free! I'd just have to make enough money to feed aydan and I and buy diapers! Even my mom wants me to do that because she feels that I need to get out on my own, without my hubby or my parents telling me what to do! I havevn't decided what to do, and only the Lord knows when I will ultimately make the decision!

I made Tilapia last night, and hubby didn't like it because it tasted like fish! Well.. DUH!!! I've never made it before.. anyone have any recipes for it??? I used a recipe I found using lime and garlic with cilantro and tomatoes! I really liked it.. buttt.... hubby didnt! If I want to make it again I need to find a hubby friendly version! Any Ideas?

Stef, I know it's hard, but I think it might be a good idea to take your friends' offer. Neither you or your hubby seem happy in your current situation. Do whatever your heart feels is right.

Sarah, I'm glad you had a good first day!

GB, I see you've gone back to the bear. I miss seeing the "real" you now.

Tilapia is great because it isn't "fishy" ... If he didnt like it then he probably wouldnt like it no mater how you served it... but I like to do a mango "salsa" on it..

I lightly bread the tilapia and cook it in the skillet.

A DAY ahead (so the salsa can "smelt", love that word LOL) I make the mango salsa.

1 mango, chopped small
1 red pepper, chopped small
1 red onion, chopped small
1 tablespoon parsley
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1/4 cup pineapple juice
6 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon fresh chili pepper, chopped
Salt and pepper, to taste
3 tablespoons olive oil

Stef... kind of sounds like your friends offer is perfect timing and almost a "sign" telling you that you can make it ! You deserve happiness ... we all do... ! (:

MmmMMMmmmm your recipe looks yummy! I told him that tilapia was like the least fishy of fish.. so him not liking it wasn't because it wasn't good.. because it really was! He told me next time to bread it and fry it! but the whole point of getting fish is because it is healthy.. if i go breading it and frying it... then what good is it? haha!

Anyway.. I am working on a much better dude food..POT ROAST! I love pot roast! I rubbed the seasonings on the roast last night.. and chopped the veggies and put it all in the crock pot in the fridge so I just woke up this moring.. seered the meat a little for more flavor.. then put it all on to cook! It was a great Idea doing it all ahead of time because who wants to wake up and do all that work? Hahaha! Soo... it should be done by the time hubby gets home to eat it!

great idea stef...i did that once and decided that was the way to do it , its too much work to do in the morning !! Do you put cream of mushroom soup and a package of lipton onion soup mix in with your pot roast ?? I love the "gravy" it turns into with the roast....mmmm ok, enough about food !!! lol

I feel this is the place to admit that I get Cosmo...and just got the new one...you really can learn LOTS of good and useful things ;) !!! I'd post some of the stuff here but....the fanboys couldn't handle it ...LOL !!!

Hey there girlie.. No I have never put cream of mushroom soup and the lipton onion soup mix in mine! I am very traditional when it comes to my pot roast! I do however take some of the broth out of the roast and make a gravy out of it.. then return it to cook for another hour with the whole roast... it turns out pretty darn yummy:)

I love cosmo.. it's a guilty pleasure... haven't got a copy in years!!! (Makes me wanna run out and go buy one:))

It's called Boundaries by Heanry Cloud and John Townsend. It does have a religious spin to it... but the practical applications are suuuper helpful.
