So this is I think my first or almost first post on the fuselage, although for the past few months I've been on other boards.

But I'm wondering about Janelle Granger. She was the diary writer in S1, but the S2 diary writer says they looked for the owner of the diary, but couldn't find them (her). Since Janelle wrote her name in the diary, shouldn't she be findable? And she wrote some stuff in there that would make anyone reading think she's a little bit crazy, so I don't imagine she would want anyone reading it.

My question is, where did she go? She has never been mentioned on air as far as I can remember. Someone on another board thought she was the person who drowned, but that was Joanna, and that was at the beginning of S1.

And then a month back or so a jgranger shows up in the hanso mail directory on letyourcompassguideyou.com, so the assumption is she's connected to hanso, as well.

Does anyone know what happened to her / where she is? That's all I would like to know.

I have no clue, but I would love it if she turned up in future episodes. The diary entries were intriguing...I want to know who she is (or was)...

I feel the same way - she just disappeared. Ahh well another mystery like Cindy I suppose. Maybe we'll find out someday.

In one of the official podcasts Damon and Carlton were asked if we’d ever get to meet Janelle from the diary. Neither knew who she was. That indicated to me that the diary is just a puff piece to get people interested in the show and nothing more. I’m not saying they’d never add a character with that name, just that the head honcho’s didn’t know anything that was being written in the diary at that time.

maybe its a hanso thing, I read that they have the ABC site under the thumb, they've been planning the experience a while................. just a pointless thought........

I just assumed that the Others kidnapped her and replaced her with one of their own... Mole, anyone???

If finding her is important, then maybe the new owner of the diary will let us know when the time is right.

The diary was great - and was something that I followed on a regular basis. It is a shame that we will probably not know who she was..... and why no one seems to care or even notice that she is missing.
There had been speculation at another board that Janelle Granger was going to be Faith Fay (the woman that always carried a bag and wore a blue striped shirt). That isn't going to be the case, however.
