Hi,

I'm an English teacher here in Korea who recently bought the season 1 DVD set. I had heard it starred a famous Korean actress and that Korean kids might relate to it well, so I hoped to use it in class as a kickoff for some conversation.

I watched the entire season this weekend, and enjoyed it quite well. In that sense, then, I'm sold on the product.

I just wanted to note that my satisfaction with the show thus far is tinged with a bit of apprehension. I feel really jerked around by a lot of television. Usually it starts strong, sometimes gets better, and then begins to suck. We're promised mystery, and then fed crap. X-Files, BSG, Angel, Roswell, blah blah blah... the list goes on. And I can accept that this might be the nature of television. The first post I encountered when coming here, an interview with some producer for your show, admitted as much, and promised that I would be dissatisfied with this show's ending. Well, I suppose I appreciate his honesty.

Having just come to the end of Exodus, I should be asking myself "ooo... what's in the hatch?" Instead, I find myself wondering jadedly if I really give a damn at the end of the day... despite a sterling effort by your creative team to engage me.

My question, I suppose, is whether Lost is going to go this direction and just sort of peter out. Is there an overall plan for the series or are writers just throwing puzzle pieces in the air to see where they land? Does the critical and financial success of the series count towards any leverage to perhaps do something... different with this show? I will willingly invest my money and time in a promise to deliver good, holistic storytelling with a defined arc and solid continuity. I think you'll find there are many folks like me in TVland hoping for something similar.

Best wishes, then for your continued success, and please bring me along for the ride.
