i dont think theres any other topics like this or if im posting this in the right place but just wondering if anyone has had something wierd happen to them like a strange coincidence.

3 weeks ago i twisted my left knee in sports class and had to go to hospital and get crutches ( still got them now :crybaby: ) and anyway i went back to school last week and on thursday my mate had a similar thing happen to her. i was sitting out of p.e. and she twisted her left ankle and couldn't walk either so she went hospital and got crtuches too. the next day we both had to go back at a similar appointment time and saw the same docter. :eek2: wierd or what ? ( well i think it is, cos nothin much like that happens to me normally )

anyone else have wierd kind of coincidences happen to them ?

hmmm.. ...... wellllll 2 years ago when my wife and I were just about to get a divorce.... I randomly picked a lawyer out of the phone book ( Purely at random mind you ) and it just so happened that this particular lawyer had already spoken to my ife and thus could not speak to me about the same case....

So, my wife and I are still together and doing well...thanks fer askin'!!

My dad thought that a friend's son had gone to Earlham College. So, we decided to go check it out, because we were in the area. It turned out the son had gone to Manchester! :undecide: Despite that, I fell in love with the school and will attend in the fall! :D

I'm not sure if that's the kind of conincidence you wanted, but I tried!

I once had a dream about my friend being pregnant. The dream went through the whole pregnancy up until she gave birth. The next day I told her and she found out that she was pregnant. I had dreamt that it was a boy and it turned out to be a boy.

I have a customer where I work that fostered 2 basset hounds. I helped her locate a family for the one and she found another on her own on the 'net. I started dating this guy who was from 2 or 3 counties away. One day we went to visit his mom and she had a basset. We started talking and she said she got her dog from the town where I work, and told me the lady's name. It was my customer! I thought that was weird.

I've had a couple of weird coincedences happen with music lately.

I recently found a big box of cassette tapes, lol. Tapes from high school, college, the 80s, a bunch of bootlegs... Anyway, I was playing a bunch of bootlegs over the long weekend. I was pulling them out randomly, looking at the set lists, not the dates. On July 2nd, I popped in a tape. It was a little while later that I looked at the tape case to see the date and find out where it was from, and I realized that I had popped in a tape from 7/2/71. 35 years to the day.

The other day, my son put Abbey Road on the stereo outside. The song I Want You (She's So Heavy) was playing. You know how it goes on and on and on at the end with the "Dun na na na na na's"? I turned around and looked at the kids and said, "This song seems to go on forever. Then just when you think it will never stop, it does." At that EXACT moment, it stopped and Here Comes The Sun began. The kid's eyes got huge as they looked at me like Mommy's magic or something. Kinda freaked me out a bit, too, to tell you the truth.

well...my daughter was born 9/9/78 at 11:55 am, my step-son was born 29 hours later in the same hospital, same delivery room at UCLA med center, the doctors that delivered both kids were residents, roommates, and good friends AND the doc that delivered my step-son was in the delivery room talking to my doc when my daughter was born (i never found out if my doc was in the room when my step-son was born)... we got married when the kids were 3 and the kids always thought the 'coincidences' showed they were meant to be brother and sister...now at nearly 28 yrs old, my step-son has a 4 yr old boy, my daughter has a 4 yr old girl (spitting images of them as pee wees).. it's pretty funny actually :) oh..and they both have an older child of the opposite sex that is the same age distance they were with their little brother (my youngest)
i've always believed coincidences are more like divine appointments... don'tcha think?

I've heard of a similar story, but a different situation. A little girl really wanted to buy a bike, but she was torn in between buying the bike for herself or to donate it to a missonaries son, who she didn't know. She chose to donate the bike. Years later, she discovered that her fiancee was the one who had received the bike. :eek2: That story was told to me by one of my friends and it still amazes me to this day! :D

When I was in 5th grade, my father was transfered from Indiana to southern California. My mom and my siblings and I finished out the school year in IN while my dad moved out there for his job and bought a house. We moved right after school let out. Turned out our next door neighbors used to live in the same town in IN we moved from.

A very similiar thing happened about 11 years ago. Again moving from IN to southern CA. My neighbor 2 doors down attended the same high school I had back in IN.

It's a small world after all, after all, lol.

I know exactly what you mean! My family and I have gone on vacation to many places, but every time, no matter where we go, we always run into atleast 5 people from our hometown! I guess you can't escape your neighbors! :frown:

That bike story was really good. I can't really think of anything good right now except that I was born at 6:02 a.m. and weighted 6 lbs, 2 oz. My hubby and I also realized probably about a year ago that we had a class together in 8th grade, but we somehow don't remember each other. I know I've had some other good coincidences, but for some reason I can't think of them right now. They must be so good they freaked me out, and I've repressed them.

I think the ones you've come up with are pretty good so far! Unfortunately for me, those stories were the only ones I could think of! I guess I'll have to think harder!! ;)

I had kind of a coincidence this morning. Actually it's just more of a funny story. I was driving to work and listening to a commercial on the radio for Dunkin' Donuts. They said something like if you're not driving, close your eyes and spin around and you'll see the pink and orange sign. Right after they said that, I pulled up to the intersection where the local Dunkin' Donuts is. I thought it was funny.

i guess this isnt really a coincidence but it was funny, yesterday at school me and my mate were doing wordsearches in music when my other friend asked who bob dylan was and at the exact time, start and finish me and my mate said ' ask kirsty' ( our other friend, whos into old stuff ) it was really wierd. we end up doing that a lot, sometimes weve even said whole sentences at the same time without even looking at each other. so we end up jinxing each other a lot too now

I've had a few....only 2 come to mind:

First - In sixth grade I commuted between the public middle school and my private school to partake in the band class offered. I saw this really cute guy and wanted to learn his name. After class I asked one of my guy friends to get cute guy's name - I went off to school and that night I had this dream about cute guy and his name was Jake. I arrive in class the next day...my friend reports that this guy's name is Jake. Weird right??

Second - This past Christmas my friend, Rachel, broke up with her boyfriend. She is a very over dramatic person to begin with and was making a huge deal of this break up when she had only been seeing the guy for about 1-2 months. She dramatically explained to us that Kelly Clarkson's 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' perfectly described how she was feeling. Fast forward to about 1 month ago when my friend Lynea and I were remembering how "upset" Rachel was by this breakup. We were trying to think of the song she thought fitted perfectly and just as it was on the tip of my tongue the song came on the radio.

Well, I have had lots of smallworld experiences (probably not coincidences)
Last year I meet 2 Northern Irish guys in Cyprus, one of them was at a festival this summer where he met this girl, this girl was in Crete this summer (I was there to, but not at that time) and when she was in Crete she got to know some guys who turned out to be some of my old classmates.....weird!

^That's pretty freaky.

I met this friend at a youth convention, and we've been emailing and keeping in touch...Well, I mentioned that I have a brother named Nick in the Air Force and that I'm going to see him graduate tech school soon. She emails me back and her first words are,"WHAT THE HECK??" She then started to tell me how she has two brothers in the Air Force and one of them is named Nick! And our dads were both in the Air Force too! How weird is that?

When I was about 10 or 11 years old I attended a basketball camp in my hometown. I met these two sisters there that were from a town about an hour away. We decided to be penpals, but that didn't last very long. Anyway, about 12 years later and about 3000 miles away (literally across the ocean), I realize there is this girl going to the same university as me and in the same dorm as me, who happens to be one of the sisters that I had met 12 years earlier. That was really weird.

last week i attended the American Idol concert at the HP Pavillion in San Jose ~ i bought my ticket a long time ago and went by myself ~ while i was at the concert i began chatting a bit with the group of 4 women and 2 men sitting behind me, it was intermission and one of the two men had gone to the concession stand ~ anyway, one of the women had said something about a house for sale and since i sell advertising to Realtors i asked if she happened to be one and she said no but her friend's husband was (he was the guy who had gone to get snacks), so i asked where, etc. and soon found out that the guy was one of my newest clients, one i hadn't even met on the phone yet but his marketing dept. had booked an ad for him and it was running in the paper that very day!! talk about a small world, out of about 25,000 people who randomly bought tickets to that concert (before he ever started advertising with me by the way) he ends up sitting in the seat directly behind me!
his entire group was so nice and the whole 'coincidence' made the night that much more fun!
blessings! :wavey: singingpretty

I live in Massachusetts and I have an uncle in Texas who works at a military base. One day he got a phone call from a woman who was thinking about joining the army down there. He asked her where she was from and she told him Massachusetts. And he said "Oh, I have family up there. What city?" She told him the city and he said "That's where my family lives" and he mentioned my mother's name. Turns out it was the daughter of an old family friend. Our families have known each other since before I was born. Kinda freaky, no? :eek2:

They say that coincidences happen in threes, well that is what exactly whats happened to me... again.
First off, Dom (Charlie) has his birthday on the 8th of December, which is the same time the film 'Happy Feet', starring Elijah Wood, is out in cinemas, which is also the same time the next issue of the LOST magazine comes out... so thats my three.
Any happened to you recently?

I was watching the last 15 minutes The Americano with Glenn Ford - sadly missed :frown: - having just watched the last 15 minutes of some dreadful John Wayne film on the Beeb with a train on a bridge in a flood in central America... *shudder* man it was bad! and Ford - who I'd previously likened to TOQ here on the 'lage - had some guy suspended over a river full of pirana - crappily edited in stock footage :D - and was cutting through the rope, strand by strand, to extract information from some naredowell, and I thought;

I'd love to see Locke do that. :devil2:

The movie ended and I flipped from Channel 4 to Five for the last 15 minutes of the movie playing there (I had a daughter home sick and we were playing to amuse ourselves) and Tommy Lee Jones rode into frame in what was obviously a contempory western.

"This looks like it might not be crap" says daughter - the very next face on screen was TOQ himself. Inside of three minutes he'd stopped a bullet! lol

(I'm making amends for missing Stranger on my Land by posting to my ship that Rocketeer is being screened on Five this Saturday.)

I was at Tim Horton's in Calgary,Canada and I said to this medic, hey have you seen these before(magnets) says to support your local EMS and he said no, so I said would you like one(free), so I give it to him, later that afternoon I was talking to a friend and I said I have this odd feeling I'm going to run into someone I know, so the next day comes and sure enough it's that same medic from the day before.

Quite a few years ago I went to a party for someone who was having a birthday, I went with a friend, well the party was for this guy who turned out to be my old gym teacher from Junior High. He was shocked he says I never changed a bit, neither did he.
I'm outside standing in the parking lot talking to the kids, kids are fun to chat with, my friend also brought her kids along. Anyways I turned to Sara and I said I have this weird feeling someone I work with lives around here, so the next day I goto work and I asked the managers if they lived in Cresent heights and our assistant manager said he did, that totally freaked me out.

There's this guy that I started to talk to and am starting to like. I saw him on Facebook (that website for college students) and saw that he's in a group for the students in the honor's council at my university. I work with the honors program. Anyway, I was at my office yesterday. I told 2 of my coworkers about him and just to make sure (ha...I feel like a stalker), I looked through the files and yeah, saw his. I didn't go through it, no worries. lol 5 minutes later, these 2 girls drop off an evaluation form from some professor (all honors students have to turn one in to get credit). My other coworker opens it and puts it on the desk. I looked at it and :o It was the evaluation form of that guy I was talking about. It was the weirdest thing in the world.

Someone posted a dog coincidence early which reminded me of mine. A few years ago at work I was talking to one of my co-workers about my dog, his family had one too so we were swapping dog stories. I'm not sure who mentioned it first about either the breed or where we got our dogs, but we both realized that our dogs were from the same litter. Crazy!

i live in california and go to a very small school. So i went to paris-and went to a TINY museum with literally 20 people there. Then i see this girl walk by and i realised its my friend from my school! It was pretty wierd. She has a house in france (lucky little "female dog") right outside of paris and that happened to be the one day in the whole summer she went to paris! It was so freaky!

A weird thing happened to me the other day actually, I was just getting a drink, as you do, and at exactly the same time as it started coming out of the bottle, the tap started running. No one else was running it or anything, I was the only one there. For some reason this made me wonder, if I stopped pouring my drink, would the tap stop running? I hadn't actually finished pouring the drink but I decided to try it anyway :D and sure enough, the tap stopped running at exactly the same time as I stopped pouring the drink.
It was pretty freaky really.
