Theres an area where the equator and the international Dateline cross, its Northeast of Australia and Fiji. I saw a program last year (Around the world in 80 days with michael Palin) and hes travelling by ship and crosses the international dateline and when they do it, they Gain a Day on the clock.

So i was wondering, if you stayed at that exact point on earth, would time change?

I think you would need to choose which time you're in. Because you still have the sun rising and setting.

That sounds like a philosophical question like "If a tree falls in the woods, & no one's there to hear it - does it make any sound?"

That's very true! :D But the question is does anyone live on the international date line? If not, I guess it's just a hypothetical question! ;)

the reason i ask i didnt want to mention it because the thread would probably get moved to a lost related part but theres actually 2 islands very close to that point. i'll just double check the names on google Earth..

K! found it, the set of 3 islands that are directly on the line, they are called the rivalli islands. *Wiki's it* nothing *googles it* nothing...how interesting, a mysterious set of islands not found when searched, the only thing placing them there is this map

update: i also tried "rivalu" but the only thing that comes up is french bathing suites lol.

Thanks for explaining yourself cause I was trying to figure out if this was theoretical or real.:D That's kind of weird about the whole wiki thing! :undecide: Maybe it's one big Lost conspiracy! ;)

this kinda does to my head what the concept of infinity does.....

for those interested, here's some more brain-scrambling along similar lines (no pun intended): http://www.goals.com/amelia/faq/dateline.htm
